I have been doing intermittent fasting about 16/8. I have also given up coffee as i found caffeine an appetite stimulant. Green Tea on the other hand tends to dampen hunger pangs. I have lost weight and the reason i post this comment, is not to brag, but to say that i was a total slave to a diet high in sugar and never imagined that i could have the strength to curtail my appetite, eat healthier and loose weight. It really is not as difficult as it seems and you will feel so much better.
I am a large individual, and will start fasting. I'm hoping this will help with my fat and other health related issues. Wish me luck, and thank you for showing me how fasting works.
I have a heart condition (fully repaired) and when I asked my cardiologist about fasting she said not to do it. She gave me statins and they made me feel awful. I’ve been fasting for two months and lost 7 pounds so far 😊
But when your doctor advised u not to do it,ther must b some reason right???,atleast u would hav gone to another doctor for an second opinion,,,before starting the fasting

My doctor is fatter than me. The last time I saw him he noticed I"ve lost a significant amount of weight, and he asked me "How did you do that ?" I told him fasting. He was impressed. For over 20 years I've been paying him for health advice. Now I'm giving him health advice and not charging him for it. It's a funny world.
Started 16: 8 IF on Jan 1st. Difficult to start with, but 10 days in and I've noticed that even at the end of my daily fast (12:30pm), I'm not hungry. Also down 11lbs :)

I have usually been able to diet down while keeping my muscle mass by simply lowering my calorie and carb intake while increasing my protein intake. However, I decided to try 16:8 intermittent fasting for the autophagy benefits. Surprisingly, it’s not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I don’t feel grumpy either.

Thank you for the excellent video! I've been following SlimSparks plan, which is low-fat and lower in calories, mainly doing what you suggested, and I've lost 40 pounds. It's fascinating that you don't recommend a high-fat diet, as many suggest combining intermittent fasting with a smoothie diet.
I started on 10 october 2024, weighing 81.7 kg...my target is 75 kg. Would definitely come back here to update . I am following a high protein diet. Or just focusing on portion control😊
Just a little tip for anyone who wants to do this. Make sure you get enough magnesium and sodium. I take a magnesium supplement and I add a teaspoon of salt in my water. Helps me with headaches when I do a long fast.
I'm in my early twenties and have already lost weight by following this. Altho i couldn't been consistent due to some reasons including health but glad I found this video with proper instructions that can help me to restart that journey. ❤
Yo, I’m a random teen who’s bored enough to do this… I’ll send updates when I notice a difference Update: It’s sorta working, I don’t feel as terrible as I used to, I’ve lost a lil bit of weight and I’ve tried this with a good sleep schedule along with daily walks. So overall, pretty neat. I gotta admit tho, I may or may have been snacking some sweets every now and then-
I had a crazy coca cola addiction and cravings for sweet things, but since I started fasting, all that has completely vanished it's incredible. I can fit into my jeans again and I sleep way better, I have an increased amount of energy plus I have a healthier relationship with food ..endless benefits to fasting! It's pretty much a lifestyle now.😊
Is it natural to lose your appetite after a few weeks? I’ve been on intermittent fasting and I just eat one meal and I’m sated. Is it because I am not eating as much sugar? I did cut down on coke as well.
Thank you for sharing this informative video on intermittent fasting! I can see how reducing the eating window can help with weight loss. However, I’m curious about a few things: How do you recommend planning meals to ensure adequate protein intake for muscle preservation during intermittent fasting? What are your thoughts on the potential impact of intermittent fasting on metabolism? Could it slow down metabolism, and if so, how can one avoid this? When someone transitions back to a more balanced eating pattern after intermittent fasting, how can they prevent rapid weight gain? Finally, is it realistic to consume the recommended amounts of macronutrients and micronutrients within such a short eating window? Can the body effectively digest and absorb everything it needs according to government guidelines in that time frame? I appreciate your insights and would love to hear your thoughts on these points!
Great video and thank you! I've lost 40 lb doing mainly this and I follow the Weight Watchers plan which is low fat and lower calorie as you suggested. I find it very interesting that you don't suggest high fat as many suggest going keto with intermittent fasting. I would love a video on that! I show everything I eat on my channel and I do try to eat lower carb as you suggested but not keto. Thanks for what you're doing!
keto has amazing benefits for most people, but it’s not easy to stay on it long term, I wish I could! When I did it I felt my best I have ever felt in my entire life! What I do is eat low carb and add healthy fats daily to my diet, like avocados, coconut/olive/MCT oils, etc, I just don’t count micros, and it still beneficial for you. I would not eat low fat, I would avoid bad fats and eat good ones, good luck !
I have been doing intermittent fasting for 2 months,,,,I have done 20 hours sometimes,,,,but in weekends I eat what I want,,,,,so my weigh loss is frm 68-63,,but ever since I have started IF,,I don't feel like giving up,,,I have a slow result,,,,but its a healthy one,,,,its more like a lifestyle rather than dieting,,,,n the best part is ,you can eat what ever you want,,,,n u still don't gain weight quickly unlike other diets,,,I do IF everyday,,,but different fasting method, sometimes 16 hours sometimes 18 hours, sometimes 20 hour,,,
One thousand percent right. I am carnivore and have seen amazing benefits off that alone but adding Omad sends it to a whole new level. Started March 13 and as of rn I’ve lost 20lb.
Good video. I personally lost 66 lbs (30 kg) in 8 months without losing any muscle mass and strength. I followed a high fat, low carb diet and it worked very well for me. I never did intermittent fasting. Losing weight is incredibly easy if you know what you’re doing 🙂
@@ashantic6171 Hey, I never fasted. I ate 5-6 meals a day. You could fast without exercise, but I would recommend you do strength training to prevent muscle atrophy during your fast. It is also important to drink a lot of water during fasting. In general, I would not recommend intermittent fasting in the first place because there are better and more enjoyable ways to lose weight and still get the same benefits. Intermittent fasting in my opinion has more disadvantages than benefits, especially if you’re alternating between bulking and cutting. Perhaps you could still exercise, but focus more on upper body exercises and machines if you have a bad knee?

@@carterman4689 Hey bro, I did more than the tdee -500 calories thing. It’s May 17th, 2024 and I’m currently 209 pounds, was about 218 a week and a half ago. Been going to the gym and working out slowly to get back into a routine. I want to combine it with fasting to see if I can get to 175 by at least August this year. Seems like I’m pretty much on the right path so hopefully this works!
Started doing this a week ago and I'm noticing it's getting easier to wait to start eating in the morning. I eat from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. and I pair that with watching what I eat and I noticed that I have more energy in the morning as my body starts to pull from that reserve of fats. Pairing this with increasing my workout will hopefully help a lot

Had the privilege of time and decided to absolutely devote to building a healthier lifestyle. Went from 40% BPF to around 28% in 3 months through Intermittent Fasting - But also including doing progressive overload hypertrophy training, HIIT circuits, and taking supplements like creatine, omega-3, probiotics, etc. The one thing I thought was a bit off is that while brown rice does have more vitamins and fiber over white rice, most white rice nowadays have vitamins enriched back into them. It’s certainly better to choose brown, but to say avoid white rice seems unnecessary.
The white rice is heavily processed so there is less nutrition. Adding in artificial vitamins to replace natural vitamins taken out isn’t as beneficial.
I’ve done this a few times. Usually the results are pretty drastic. I’ve lost 52 pds in about 3 months. With intermittent fasting. And eating super healthy. Gave up sweets and all fast food. I feel fu**ing great!

I've never had issues with weight in my life. I'm almost 40 with 4 children. Genetics may be the dominant factor in my case. However this is how I've naturally ate since as long as I can remember..3 years old and up. The times in my life where I worked longer days so ate over a longer period and fasted shorter, was the ONLY time my weight began to climb. It was a temporary work assignment. Once it was over and I reverted back, it was gone in about a month or so. I just sleep 8-9 hrs solid every night and don't have an appetite until afternoon.

Thank you for the tea tip! I will try that
I am a large individual, and will start fasting.

Is it natural to lose your appetite after a few weeks? I’ve been on intermittent fasting and I just eat one meal and I’m sated. Is it because I am not eating as much sugar? I did cut down on coke as well.
Me too!
No appetite i force myself to eat most times now
Thank you for sharing this informative video on intermittent fasting!
Hi! Amazing effort to loose 40lb - congrats. Will try make another video on this.
keto has amazing benefits for most people, but it’s not easy to stay on it long term, I wish I could!

Good video. I personally lost 66 lbs (30 kg) in 8 months without losing any muscle mass and strength. I followed a high fat, low carb diet and it worked very well for me. I never did intermittent fasting. Losing weight is incredibly easy if you know what you’re doing 🙂
Congrats on your success.

Started doing this a week ago and I'm noticing it's getting easier to wait to start eating in the morning. I eat from 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m. and I pair that with watching what I eat and I noticed that I have more energy in the morning as my body starts to pull from that reserve of fats. The one thing I thought was a bit off is that while brown rice does have more vitamins and fiber over white rice, most white rice nowadays have vitamins enriched back into them. It’s certainly better to choose brown, but to say avoid white rice seems unnecessary.
Thanks for sharing your story here.
The white rice is heavily processed so there is less nutrition. Adding in artificial vitamins to replace natural vitamins taken out isn’t as beneficial.
