I started intermittent fasting 10 days ago i lost around 5-6kg
My weight was 86 kg now it's 80.2 kg
Here is what I was doing
    I sleep daily before 10pm
Before sleeping i take 1/2 glass of warm water with 1 spoon of honey ,half lemon, 1/2 spoon of cinnamon (boiled in water)
And remaining 1/2 glass after waking up,i wake up at 4 o clock in the morning after that i usually drink lukewarm lemon water 1 glass
And then i go for walk on average i walk 7500 steps daily and do some exercise
At 10:00am I took my first meal
    1 whole wheat roti
1 whole and 2 eggs whites omlette or boiled
I also add some mix cooked vegetables
Then 1pm lunch 1 bowl of rice and vegetables but before lunch i ate salad
    Dinner before 7pm
    That's all i did
And i quit all junk food and fast food also.sugar
    Now i joined gym to

That's neither good nor sustainable.. you should ideally lose 0.5 to 1% of your bodyweight per week.. any more than 1% you're losing your lean muscle mass. Also in 5 days you can't lose 5kgs of fat unless you're over 500kgs. It's mostly water weight. At least do it for 3 months before giving a proper feedback.

I have been fasting for almost 3 weeks and lost 6 pounds. I have either a 6 or 8 hour window. My average fasting glucose has also reduced by 2 points. I rarely get hungry during my 16 or 18 hours of fasting. I am happy I started this and want to continue as long as I can . I am over weight and prediabetic. I feel this way of eating will help me continue to loose weight and get me glucose numbers in a healthy range very soon. I am currently 211 and started at 217 close to 2weeks ago.

Also made myself a priority ME FIRST! I am 62 years old and did this from June 22 onwards still walking 1 hour and now have some sugar n carbs.

Thats not good... Without protein , the weight loss will be not from fat , but muscle. Muscle is high in density so little muscle loss means huge weightloss

    • @Lilith_2002
      @Lilith_2002 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@fardeenkassim ideally 40 to 60% percentage of energy should come from carbohydrate you may follow otherwise but this is what science says and protein should be around 1g /kg body weight that is for average 70 g or may be 80 g at most.... Not more than that any more protein than this will cause kidney and liver failure in long term and reduce life span.... And according to the body mechanism after glycolysis lipolysis occurs then occurs proteolysis there is no way muscle will be used for energy before fat this is a common myth... Muscle requires more maintanance that is why if we reduce calories the unused muscle will go through atrophy whichh can be prevented by exercises...

Intermittent fasting it definitely works & I m an example reduced close to 4 kilos in 3 months, but as Dr. Pal says consistency & patience is the key. But personally I believe the food what you eat also matters no junk, no sugar, no maida, lots of vegetables, protein intake is a must, sound sleep for 8-9 hours n avoid blue screen. Above all a daily work out of 45 minutes. I definitely bet u can see the results in two months. God Bless

I was trying hard to lose weight as I have hypothyroidism and prediabetic.. but I saw a TH-cam video regarding 5 types of fasting and autophagy process.. hence I'm now following 16:8 hours of fasting.. also another one video suggest that to open a fasting to start in a order of veg salad, protein, fat, and then finally finish off with carbohydrate,( to wait insulin level to its peak before carbs level to rise )also it suggest to wrap your carbohydrate with protein or fat or veggies ... I'm following for a week now and it's really working magically... But your videos are perfect guidance to follow for consistency and determine eating windows... Many thanks for your videos... I lost 8kg without doing any exercise in this corona lockdown; I was confused about how it happened because I tried to reduce weight, not even grams reduced, but now I got the answer. Actually, in corona time, my first bite was around 10am, and the last bite was around 6.30pm. Without knowing this fact, I reduced my belly fat. Thank Dr. Pal, for answering my mystery doubt. I just started watching your videos since last two weeks or so. An accidental browsing catch. :) When I did that, I was eating(regularly) from 5 AM IST till 11 PM IST - I mean, I was just intermittently eating with 6 hours fasting, per say. First coffee at 5 AM and then the last bite - Be it a banana or say cucumber or some biscuit or something at around 11 PM. Then I started Time restricted eating and Intermittent fasting. Started with 12:12 then slowly in the last fortnight made it to 16:8. First time, I tried finishing my last bite at around 2.15 PM IST yesterday and today I am planning to take my first sip of coffee at around 7 AM IST. That will be 16+ hours of fasting(Religiously). Started feeling awesome, already. Thank you so much Doctor Pal. And more importantly Please convey our wishes to your friend Mr.Saravana Kumar from MN :D

All my adult life - even when at the right weight (52-55kg), I always had a protruding belly. And in the last 3 years, I had put on 10kg (66-67kg). I was unable to lose weight despite cutting down on calories (and carbs, dairy, meat, sugar).
After your videos, I started to implement IF. I have been a chronic case of late night sleeping and eating/snacking - as far as I can remember, I have always had dinner post 10pm. Once I implemented IF, I immediately started noticing inch loss. Once I saw the gains, just as u stated, I started eating healthier too in the eating window. That started to trigger weight loss, and has also helped me (higher) energy levels, better sleeping cycles (borderline insomniac), better menstrual cycles, elimination of hunger pangs and food cravings. It has been 2-3 months now that I have done the IF-EW (15:9), and have lost 7 kilos and more importantly, moved (back) from a size 6/8 to size 2/4.
I cannot even begin to thank you for your service. We are lucky to have a noble soul like you who believes in Giving, with a capital G.

When I went for my annual health check up the doctor really appreciated at the results as they were too good including the BMI. Adding some workouts to my routine has helped me to get back in my prenatal denim ☺️ I have forced my husband also to follow this. Now I don’t really look for food after 6pm . I feel so bad if I bite some food after 6pm as if I made a big sin 🙈

I found drinking 3 litres of water every day as well as eating voluminous foods with lots of protein and good fats helped keep me full during the first few weeks of IF - I would have a large bowl of salad with 1/2 avocado 6-8 different salads, 1-2 tablespoons olive oil with lemon juice and balsamic vinegar - in my salad would be mixed leaves, Spanish onion, tomatoes, mushrooms, capsicum, radish, avocado, cucumber, celery, carrots and sometimes olives - I would eat this before eating my protein - when I felt lazy did not want to cook I would add 2 boiled eggs and a tin of canned tuna or salmon/sardines to the salad - I would have a small slice of cheese or handful of nuts or peanut butter whenever I had a piece of duties as a snack

I lost 4 kg in a month by following only intermittent fasting at 15:9(i.e.) 9 o'clock I used to have breakfast and at 6 o'clock I will complete my dinner. I have not done anything additional like less calories, exercises and walking. Only intermittent fasting. But slowly I will also reduce calories and start doing exercises.

Intermittent fasting is working wonders for me.

Your appetite is going to reduce significantly. Your mind will stop taunting you to grab a burger or a pizza every now and then. I experienced a lot if dizziness, insomnia at the beginning and after a bit of research, found that those are some of the possibilities side affects of IF and also means it working well. I used to skip breakfast, sometimes take buttermilk, I eat at 1pm to 2pm , & last 8pm-9pm , as i can't change my whole family, Even though I don't want to eat after sun set, its 15:9 , is it ok? i just want to be active & not over weight.I avoid sugar but can't say no to God Prasad & moms sweet treat she give to show how much she love, why not our goddess like dark chocolate. 😅

    Hi Dr.
Sorry for the silly question. Does brushing teeth before bed interrupts IF as some particles of tooth paste may be swallowed by chance.
I use homemade tooth paste which I prepared myself consisting of tooth healing herbs and coconut oil too. A part of this paste i swallowed by mistake tonight which made me to write a query at this time to you Sir.

    Hello sir,
I try to follow TRF but difficult to maintain consistency. Usually I finish my dinner by 7 pm and start eating by 8 am But some times( usually weekend ) I finish my dinner late, say by 9 pm
So to maintain the fasting window same is it ok if I start eating by 10 am next morning.

Decrease 1 hour from dinner time and follow for 6 weeks. Gradually, you can adjust to ideal eating time 10 am to 6 pm. Take healthy and fiber rich foods with minimum 1200 and maximum 1800 calories. Do some exercise
Follow my weight loss series for more details
