I just bought the same bike in 2024. The Mako was always my dream bike, and I chose it over a new model. I noticed you haven’t made another video since that Sturgis trip. I hope everything is ok, I look forward to new content.
You forgot one step on ceramic. It doesn’t adhere to wax’s. So you HAVE TO use a prep spray. To take off all oils and waxes on the paint.
When you use compound, and then polish, it will take off any wax. But, always smart to use a solvent. Good call!
I had to laugh. At the 9 minute mark you said you put your rain suits on the BOTTOM of the bag. Did you regret that they weren't on TOP? It rained every day the week before the rally and at Black Hills HD one day at 4pm or so I helped a food vender take down his awning from blowing away during a super windy downpour we got our butts soaked but saved the awning. I ride a 2018 geezer glide ultra couch that has saddle bag guards. When on trips I have bags I attach just for rain suits gloves n booties, but normally they are in the bags hers on left mine on right side. All the rest of your tips were spot on. I do the same to the paint and new tires regardless of tread depth every end of June, we are gone for 7 weeks moto camping for the 4th of July thru the end of Sturgis.
Out of 28 days on the road, we hit rain twice. We knew it was coming, we saw it on the horizon. We pulled over, got changed, and away we went. We didn't put to much on top of the suits, so it wasn't an issue. I think we got lucky!!

I put them on and then went on a 4,200 mile road trip. 28 days in August in the mid-west. Tires are great. "No Regrats"
Great advice. My RGS will be having its 15,000 mile service next week. I will be leaving Mass the first of Aug. The plan is for a month. A week to get there, a week and half there, then a week ish to get home via a completely different route. See you in Sturgis. Ride safe!!
