Great video! The A-10 never gets old, also I’m curious about one idea. I don’t know if this has happened before but I’m curious to see what would happen in a Su-57 vs J-20 in a BVR scenario, it would be interesting since I don’t think this has happened on this channel yet. Still keep up the great work!

2200+ hours in the A-10 and counting. Love the Hog content on your channel. It’s awesome to see a “civilian” do things that we Hog Drivers would like to do, but aren’t permitted to do. I’d love to try my hand at the A-10 on DCS! Love the channel!
Your mission/scenario based mission videos are my absolute favorite ones. I enjoy them much more than just 1v1 duels. Reminds me of doing Arma ops with friends but with planes lol. Keep it up!
Watching the A-10 completely anihalate anything in it's way is deff entertaining but I think the best part of this while video is the fly by at the end. The A-10 is ground forces saving grace.
Like hell it is. It's just that the ground forces are easily impressed by the slow, loud plane with a huge gun punching holes in the desert whereas the F-16 they never saw that dropped a single JDAM they never saw that actually killed a bunch of enemies they never saw but who were about to open up enfilading fire on them doesn't impress nearly as much.
After putting the A10C2 away for awhile, I’m pushing through the learning curve again. Still one of my favourite aircraft. Just very complicated systems. At least for a Ledite like myself.
Dont what it is but I find the F16 more of a struggle than I ever did with the A10CII and to elaborate - I have been flying the module for years but I just think the A10c process flow interlinking systems etc is so much more logical and (for me easier) than the 16.
in DCS a well coordinated pair of A-10c (II)'s will absolutely tear up the place. You can smoke out the short range sams and schwack 'em, then just go to town on anything and everything that twitches. The HMCS changed everything and made it a truly effective system for designating visual targets on the fly and the SPI sharing capability is fantastic, especially at night. I really wish the -16 and -18 HMD's and systems managed targets as easily.
Our military defense contractors have invented some incredible pieces of equipment throughout our history but the A-10 created its own category of lethality and destructive capability. It’s retirement will be a sad day. Long live the A-10 Warthog 💪🏼🥇🇺🇸

Can you imagine the incomprehensible primate noises that would come from the cockpit of an A-10 operating alone, fully loaded with ordnance and granted unrestricted permission to engage targets of opportunity upon spotting this many ground targets? Ground pounding Shangri-La.

@@Bornst3ll3r Actually the A-10 is great against any pre 21st century SHORAD or other low end air defense systems. Like every other aircraft from that era it just can't deal with modern networked air defense. That is likely but has yet to be proven as nobody has tried to take down a truly modern system yet. And no Ukranie doesn't count.
Fun fact: the high explosive shells used in the Iowa-class battleships were 2000 pounds. Really puts things in perspective when Mk 84s are in play. Meanwhile the Mk 82s (500 lb bombs) are the same weight as a 10 inch artillery shell.
Except the Mk 84 carries six times more explosive than a 16-inch HC shell, and more powerful explosive at that. The 16-inch shell is closest in power to Mk 81 bomb, which was quickly retired due to insufficient lethality.
I think the little roll during the fly by is a really fun signal because the a10 pops up slightly as it rolls before you zoom off. As if you're saying over and out.

What exactly is the difference between chalf and flare?
Flares are heat sources meant to spoof missiles that home in on heat (AKA heatseeking missiles). Chaff is a bunch of pieces of metal that are meant to spoof radar locks by bouncing radar waves all over the place instead of the actual aircraft
Chaff offers a defense of against RADAR-guided weapons, while flares offer defense against heat-seeking weapons.
Chaff is (basically) reflective confetti that scatters the radio waves of the enemy radar systems.
Flares are high-temp (magnesium) "candles" that give false targets for the infra-red tracking systems used in some missile systems.
Both are "decoy" defensive systems.
