On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

@@traviswalker8933 Yes, but not the early jets. It would be interesting to see how the A-10 fares against the early jets and how long it takes for the jet fighters to heavily out-perform the A-10.

As Sgt Elias said in ‘Platoon’, “You're carrying too much weight, troop!”… If you know Frogfoots and helicopters are going to be in the air then a reduced load of 4x AAM, 4x Maverick and 2x CBU would have made you far lighter and more manoeuvrable. Maybe a couple of lighter GBU 500lb bombs if actually required for the mission but realistically only take what you need to complete the tasking - I used to make the same mistake loading my Su25 with everything it could carry, only to find it handled like a lorry rather than a sports car!
I mean, realistically, why is an A-10 having to dogfight Frogfoots outnumbered 2-to-1 when a pair of F-18s just went by? Even if they were winchester on missiles and guns the frogfoots don't know that and they'd provide a credible threat!
Thank you for finally doing a10 dogfight even if you didn't survive. I think you handle it well considering the situation. My grandfather was a rf4 reconnaissance pilot they didn't have the luxury of weapons of their solution was don't get seen or run. The best quote I've seen is "my f**k around is running out, but my finding out is almost there" for the a10
You were doing good with that crash landing attempt but something (probably 30mm BMP fire) took one of your vertical stabs out, that caused the plane to sideslip. You can see you kept both stabs after the missile hit, but one was missing as you tried to set the plane down.
I was SHOCKED he didn't immediately jettison stores after eating that missile!
Admittedly I don't know if he does his commentary live or in post, but I can attest that if you're doing live commentary it really slows down your reaction time and decision making.
If you lose the displays, try starting the APU. Sometimes it brings them back. It also helps with control.

I'd love to see a video of trying to intercept the venerable SR-71 Blackbird with the best technology 2023 has to offer. Does an updated MiG-31 with R-37s even stand a chance at Mach 3+ and climbing through angels 80? Modernised F-14 with AMRAAM-D3s, AMRAAM-ERs, or speculative AIM-260s?
The F-14 would make no sense against the SR-71. That's friendly fire. We have to see the technology the adversaries have developed to intercept such an aircraft.

1983 was on exercise in west germany. went to get some sunshine/smoke in a clearing after a week under forest canopy. got spotted by a pair of A10s. was in awe as i .. me .. alone.. got straffed by these monsters. the way they jinked and jived was amazing

Hey @GrowlingSidewinder While in air to air mode and with the HUD selected as SOI, you can slew the Aim 9 seeker head (circle) onto targets with the TDC
God this is so awesome and satisfying to watch! Never retire the A-10 just Improve them and make them more survivable from hits. Cause it is already the most survivable jet in History!

I'd like to see an all F-35 strike mission, with some acting like wild weasels, some high as overwatch, some suppressing with harms, and the rest delivering munitions on the targets.
