Nice video I took all of the valuable info to make a great tan suede tote bag for my wife. I don’t want to toot my own horn but it turned out amazing. I used some gator skin handles and made 4 pockets 3 inside and one outside. I also used my Singer heavy duty sewing machine and put on a decorative style stitch to give it some character. Anyhow just a great video. I like how you gave me dimensions
Only change I suggest and did was use double sided tape vs glue when going to sew the bag inside out, otherwise 99% of the time you will be cleaning glue that shows when you turn right side out. Otherwise good to go 👍
I got wet glue in my (cheap) hole puncher for stitching. I didn't use it again for about 3 days. When I started punching holes for another stitch line the hole puncher split open because the glue prevented the leather inside the hole punch to move up and out.
Hi Elliot, I don't see why you couldn't. It would just have to be pretty thin leather because of all the seams it would create. You would just have to sew enough scraps together to get to the size bag you want and then cut to shape and stitch the bag together.
Great tutorial. What a quality bag. I'm wondering what you would sell a handmade bag like that for? Hand stitching and copper rivets make it so much more valuable I think.
Hi Kathy, You definitely could but then you would have a stitch line showing on the back of the bag. It's completely up to personal preference on how you attach the pocket, but, either way works!
