    Thank you for this! I have a purse I am working on, that I have delayed finishing, because I wanted to add a liner to it. I have all my leather pieces tooled and ready to assemble, and I have a satin liner fabric ready to use; I just didn't know where to start to get tab A into slot B. So glad I found this, and can't wait to finish this off! Love Weaver's supplies and videos, and looks like I have just found another great tutor to help me take things to the next level!

    I don't really have an occasion to line handbags, but this was really useful for doing a bit of the opposite. We typically make toolbags out of heavy canvas/Cordura/etc and line them with pig skin. I mean, it's a toolbag, but you still want it to look nice!

    Thank. you for this video it helped me so much. I have been watching so many tutorials regarding bag making. I have started making makeup pouches to start with trying to perfect that. Loved the tutorial this was great. Do you have a small pouch tutorial? I have sewed clothing for many years when my kids were younger. Now I am looking for expansion. I had an interest in making bags a long time ago. I think I am ready for the next adventure. You are very inspiring to me. Thanks

    thanks for the great video, so when your lining is cut the same width as your tabbed zipper, when you sew the side seams there is a gap at the top that is not closed, correct? Or do you somehow stitch that up? this is a great method to avoid baggy linings!

  • @tcshinds
    @tcshinds 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you so much, very detailed instructions I can follow along too. Have you ever done these methods on a hand sewn bag?

    • @NikkiandMallory
      @NikkiandMallory 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have. It's not the easiest but you essentially use the "zipper" technique, but instead of machine stitching you hand-stitch it in. There's a video on my channel covering this.

    Nikki, I'm so glad you made this video. I enjoyed it so much my head is spinning with ideas; however, there's quite a few other projects to be finished first.
    Maybe you can help me with what I am working on now. I just watched the video Chuck did on 6 ways to dye Leather. Personally I liked the dipping method and the block method. I draw free and been wanting to try ari brushing now I have another reason. S👀 my head is spinning to I diegressed...
    Okay I have the sweater that thev front 2 panels of the torso is red leather and so are the cuffs. The rest of the sweater the is 100% cotton. I know it sounds weird but it's well done. The front closes with a double ended zipper; so when sitting it could be unzipped from bottom a inch or so. I could send a pic if you want. Now, the reason I need to dye the leather from it's color of red, is simple I'm a natural red and red-heads don't wear red. Well this red-head hasn't nor pink. My favorite color is green (sage or hunter) but not sure if it's possible or how to accomplish it. Do you have any suggestions 🤔? ¿¿¿
