We were so inspired that we made several of your recipes including Short Rib Ragu, Banh Mi, Crispy Asian Chicken using Gochujong, Bulgogi and more. Everything turned out perfectly. I just wanted to thank you guys for your scrumptious content. My son and I made lasting memories during our visit. Many of those memories are centered around cooking and eating your delicious recipes. I'm back in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan just across Lake Superior from Ontario Canada. I've got pork loin in the oven right now for some Banh Mi. The smells are taking me back to San Diego. Keep the recipes coming! I'll be watching....and so will my son. 🤗 Cheers! 🍻
aww, this comment reminds me of my mom. I've lived within eyesight of Lake Erie almost all my life and wish my mom would be willing to try the things you are willing to try. I commend you on trying new things, I'm 24 and my mom is not big on trying new things. It's frustrating because I love to try boundary expanding dishes but she will never try them with me. Green bean casserole, chicken thigh foil packets, broccoli-cheese & rice casseroles and noodles are her comfort zone I guess.

They're 34 and 37 now and they are fabulous cooks. They picked up good technique by watching me cook, but they most definitely have their own style of cooking that amazes their momma. Make something scrumptious for your mom. I bet she'll love it too! 😊
Sam is my 4 year old son’s favorite chef. We watch all of the videos. The only thing he doesn’t like is sometimes Sam says “bad words”. We love the recipes and every one I’ve tried has been excellent. This will be Saturday breakfast for sure. An easy way to get the pieces of shell out of the pan once the egg is broken is to use the larger egg shell to scoop out the small piece(s). Many years ago I was in a culinary competition with Pommes Anna as one of my dishes. Except that I didn't use the traditional Pommes Anna pan to cook it in and got ripped by the judges. Don't call it Pommes Anna if you're not going to make it the traditional French way. Almost 20 years later and I've never forgotten. I also stole the Pommes Anna pan from the school and still have it to this day.
Problem with turning it a lot is if you don’t have a thick steak or a hot griddle. With thin steaks you have to blast them with as much heat on contact on both sides then pull them, turning them slowly like that you’d end up with either a perfect steak with no colour or over cooked steak
He has in fact had that occur a couple times. Well, he didn't like it once. The other times he didn't enjoy the food because it wasn't his "thing." But the food wasn't bad otherwise.
I know in the McDonald’s recipe video. He made the Dutch cookies McFlurry and be admitted McDonald’s was way better. He said something like “yeah McDonald’s one is way better they have way more tools for this.”
I have to confess... The rest of this is wonderful but, I like very proper, crispy hashbrowns and the eggs, whites just cooked, served on top of the hashbrowns so that the yolks and soft (but not raw) whites mixing luxuriously into the potatoes. Wow. *Pro tip...* Crack your eggs into a separate bowl, then put them in the pan. If you get some shells in there, you can pull them out without burning yourself or breaking an egg. And... If you break an egg in the bowl, just crack another egg. No retrieving a broken egg from the pan and starting over, possibly at the expense of the other egg(s). 😀😃
I chopped off the tip of my finger one time with a huge chopping knife that had spikes on it it was a nice big chunk of my finger too . I was trying to chop a sweet potato. I ended up going to the emergency room and they asked me if I had the piece of my finger and I told them what??? Why would i carry with me the tip of my finger and they eventually just wrapped it up in cloth bandage and sent me home lmao the real injury was the bill i got afterwards smh

12:31 Brushing marinade onto the steak right before removing it from the grill Don't do that. Seriously, never do that again. It's fine to use your marinade to brush your meat while it is cooking. But keep in mind that marinade has had contact with raw meat. This isn't an issue when you add it when the meat will be spending more time on the grill, allowing that raw marinade to cook away the raw meat contamination. But brushing more on right before you remove the meat from the grill is just asking for food contamination.
Today I made brunch for my wife and I. I reverse seared two bone-in ribeyes, topped them with a lovely thyme and rosemary compound butter, fried some shredded Yukon Golds in bacon fat, and fried eggs in the same pan I finished the ribeyes in, along with some mushrooms and onions. Then I watched this video and wished I had seen it three days ago before I started the dry cure on the ribeyes. Next time...

Every chef talked about how cheap and good they were that it drove demand up and now they're reasonably expensive.

This isn't an issue when you add it when the meat will be spending more time on the grill, allowing that raw marinade to cook away the raw meat contamination. But brushing more on right before you remove the meat from the grill is just asking for food contamination.

Today I made brunch for my wife and I. I reverse seared two bone-in ribeyes, topped them with a lovely thyme and rosemary compound butter, fried some shredded Yukon Golds in bacon fat, and fried eggs in the same pan I finished the ribeyes in, along with some mushrooms and onions. Then I watched this video and wished I had seen it three days ago before I started the dry cure on the ribeyes. Next time...
