I have only been crocheting for about 2 years and have only done afghans and a few beanies. I decided to tackle this cardigan and I loved it! I used Bernat blanket yarn because my local Joann didn't have any 5 weight yarn and so I said "what the heck? Why not?!" AND it only took me three days to complete! Thank you for the great and easy to follow pattern, Toni!!

Was the bernat yarn a category 6? I've been trying to find some 5 too and having trouble.

...I tried to make a queen size blanket with that yarn, and was overly ambitious for my first full size project. 3 balls in, it was barely a foot tall, but about 6 feet wide. It'd take me a year about about 12 more balls to finish. I've taken the first ball out and I'm using it for this. I've never been happier to undo my work 😅

Love your cardigan, it's beautiful. I couldnt read a pattern and produce anything. That's why I love tutorials.

Thank you so much for creating the crochet academy. I went through the whole course and was able to start and finish this project. I have been crocheting for a couple of years, mostly self taught, a class here and there. I learned so much from the academy, and I think it really helped me to improve my skills and confidence. Thanks again. I really appreciate your work.

This is it, the cardy I have always wanted to crochet! Yes, I can manage this, I know for sure. Now all I need to do is source out the yarn here in Australia. Oh and buy your pattern Toni. Thank you.

As a beginner at crocheting I have only made some hats and a scarf so far. But I wanted to challenge myself and try making something bigger. I chose this cardigan as it seemed beginner friendly with easy instructions and pattern. And I am proud to say that I just finished making it. It took me six days (mainly because I don't have a social life and work/classes). My mom also promptly snapped a picture of the cardigan as soon as I showed her the finished product so that's a plus in my books. It's always nice to see my mom proud of me.
Thank you for the pattern and easy instructions. Your website was also a huge help when I got confused.
