Hey there, a nice viewer brought a mistake to my attention. The 4th row of stitch pattern on sleeve are dc’s, not hdc’s! I apologize for any confusion❤️
Just made this as my first ever crochet project and it turned out great! I needed quite a lot more wool than you stated but that was because I extended the sleeves to make them long enough for me as I’m more of a M/L than a S/M. Feeling super accomplished now so thank you for the useful video tutorial!!
That’s so awesome! I’m so proud of you❤️
fantastic! Good for you!. I began patterns by tutorials as well. It's fantastic for a visual learner.
How much wool did you need? I'm wanting to make the same size as you! Thank you! I'd love to see a pic of yours, too!
Love this! Made it over this weekend! The only thing I did differently was on the pockets. I chained 15, turned and did a row of single crochet in back bumps first. Then I proceeded with your pocket instructions. What this did was flip the pockets so that the pattern of the pocket matched the pattern on the sweater panels ( in lieu of being upside down). I liked the V of my stitch going the same direction. Guess my OCD got the better of me! Thanks for a lovely pattern- look forward to making many more of your creations!
That’s so awesome! 😍
this is so adorable!!!!!!!!! im currently working on this project for my mom and she is going to L.O.V.E IT!!!!!! she loves cardigans and this has her name written all over it. thank you so much for the awesome pattern!!!!!
You’re so welcome!
This is one of the best cardigans that YT offers. I love 💕 the unique sleeve construction! I bumped it up using an N hook with a strand of Loin Brand Comfy Cotton and one of Red Heart from my stash BECAUSE OF THE COMBINED THICKNESS. Some nice result happened.
I wish you had told us, in the beginning of the video, that the beginning chain is actually how Long the sweater will be, from shoulder to hip. I thought how long the chain was, is how wide the sweater is from shoulder to shoulder, but it’s the length. I finally figured out that how many rows you do is how wide it is, from shoulder to shoulder and hip to hip.
I did 10 extra beginning chains (63) and 30 rows so far and used a 8 mm hook. I will keep doing more rows till it seems wide enough, but I hope that it is long enough for me. I am a large or X-Large and 5’4.
I literally just came on here now to say this. I have just put the back panel down annoyed as I didn't realise we were working side to side. I too used a lot of extra wool as I thought the sizing was too small for me 😢
Amei seu trabalho parabéns. Linda essa cor.
How cute! I have used this yarn to make other things, I love how soft it is. Beware that you need to wash by hand and try not to agitate it as it will pill.
Good to know!
Put it inside a pillow case and it won't pill at all
Its so sweet of you. You have explained so patiently step by step. Tha k you so much for taking out time to do this for us beginners ❤️
I just finished this sweater...it turned out so adorable! I used basically the same yarn but a different variation (alpaca loops and threads from Michael's in a 6 weight). Thanks for the great tutorial. Good ones are hard to find! I look forward to others.
I’m so glad it worked out so well! I’m new at making videos, so your kind feedback means so much❤️ I’m kind of obsessed with cardigans lol so there will be many more to come😊
@@fastkittykrafts9045 Well... then I will be making many more cardigans too! lol :-)
I love this, it's so pretty! I love how easy it is, I'm obsessed with cardis! Thanks for sharing.💜😊
I’m obsessed too 😂
Looks easy to follow.
I love this sweater!
Loved making this cardigan!!
Love the texture in the design! ♥♥♥
Aww, I’m so happy you like it❤️
Beautiful cardigan gd job explainning👍
Hi - how do I size up (starting chain) for medium to large cardigan?
Great video thanks for the info! Can't wait to make this🤗 Great job on the sweater cardigan
Very cute! I love it! I will have to wait until I get the yarn, or I can try it in Worsted weight using my measurements. I really wanted to make a chunky cardigan. I have Red Heart Boutique Unforgettable Waves in 3 colors as well as Lion brand Landscapes in silver/blue. They are listed as weight 4, but are closer to a 5 (in my opinion).
Hi! I love the texture. Stitching the panels together. I tried a blanket stitch. It seems bulky at the top. I tried slip stitch but it seems it should be done inside the sweater. Any additional pointers on this? TIA ❤
The pattern is beautiful, how do i make this a large?
Gorgeous cardigan thank you x 💖
Thank you! 😊
beuatiful cardigan and awesome tutorial! thank you so much excited to try making this
You’re welcome enjoy!❤️
@@fastkittykrafts9045 hi would a child's size be divided by chains for adult size?
Can you please do a tutorial for 3XL size for this cardigan? Thank you🙏
It would be really nice if you could give use the for the other sizes .
Hi Phyllis, I wanted to make this a super simple pattern to customize for yourself. I'm not an expert at sizing yet I confess. I suggest starting the back panel, and keep going until it reaches a width of one of your garments you like the size of.
¡¡¡¡Hermoso, hermoso!!!!. No me canso de ver este tutorial.
So soft & cozy! Will make when I finish the Cherry Bomb Cardigan. Liked & sub’d.
Oh that’s so awesome! Welcome❤️
Is the DC in the 4th row of the sleeves in BLO or FLO as per your pattern correction 🤔 or normal DC?
Really great tutorial!! I will definitely be making this, thanks for sharing!! 💖
So glad you like it! You’ll love how fast it goes😊
53 chain for all sizes???
Ejample, 2KL ??? THANKS.
@@MariaGonzalez-up3jz 53 chains will give you approximately 30” in length. If you need it longer, you can add more chains - 7 stitches equals approximately 4”. Hope that helps❤️
I never seen a chainless dc made with a chain.
I will try to make this💕
You will love it😍
just adorable! please assist me how many crochet yarns do i need? how much is the meters? for M and L sizes
i got stuck on the side single crotchet on the starting chain - next !
Adorable 🥰🥰 Ma sha2 Allah ☝️☝️
I just finished crocheting the pieces and am about to attach with the mattress stitch at the shoulder. I have no neck. You said to crochet the two front sides half the size of the back. For example, if the Back is 24, then each front pieces is 12. If you sew tops together -? Did I miss something in the video? Do I stop before I crochet the entire side piece to the shoulder and leave a gap? I’m obviously confused. This is my first cardigan. Help!
Hi if you do more chains for back panel and front panels do you add more for sleeves
Only asking as added 20 chains as I am using a smaller hook
Hope you can advise thanks
I have been crocheting since I was 7yrs old. What sizes hooks and how many stitch markers do you use. And do you use only half double crocheting only. Front post double crocheting only or single crocheting. I am a size 1x or 2x how many stitches.
Love this cardigan ❤️could you please tell me how many stitches to start with for a large size thank you?
Hi! The starting chain establishes the length of the cardigan, so it more depends on your height. I'm 5 feet 5 inches, and the 30" length hits below my hip, so if you're taller, you may want to add extra chains. Hope that helps!
@@fastkittykrafts9045 l appreciate your immediate response I can't wait to start this cardigan thanks for sharing ❤️
Do you have a written pattern?
How do I know what size to do?? What are the measurements for a S or M, etc? I wear a 36D bra, my tops range fm S-M, usually S unless they're cut tight. But in some brands I can be a large! Please advise
Hi! Mine is a small/medium and it measures 20” wide when laid flat. That’s pretty loose fitting for me, I sometimes wear an extra small. The circumference is 40”, which is about 5” bigger than my bust measurement. So I suggest adding 3-5 inches to your bust measurement and then divide by 2 to get the back panel measurement. Hope that helps❤️
You crochet sweater which size
Hi There~ I'd like to help out with a correction.
At 10½ minutes you say half double crochet, but you mean to say double crochet 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️
So, the 4th row is actually double crochets into the half double crochets. 😻💜💙💚
@@seastarlight2574 OMG you're right! Thank you for catching that, I'll have to make a note in the description...
I there a written pattern for this ?
Plz tell how much yarn u used for this
Hi I used approximately 750 yards for my size S/M.
How do you know where to stitch the shoulder seams? Thank you.
Lay back panel wrong side up, then lay the 2 front panels right side up on top of back panel making sure the sides are lined up. Stitch along top of the front panel sections👍
@@fastkittykrafts9045 Thank you. I'm not sure how to know how far along to stitch?
Can’t crochet along unless you explain size modification at the beginning. Didn’t know if first chain would be longer had to jump around trying to find size modifications info. Finally found it but it was 6 minutes into tutorial. Super cute got super frustrating there for about 20 min. 🥴
Oh no, thanks for the feedback❤️
Never mind❤️
I'm a little confused, does the repeat include row 5?
Hi! You just repeat rows 1-4 until desired width, ending with a row 2.
Thank you so much for responding, so that 5th row only happens once? My first attempt at trying to crochet a cardigan.
Hello!! I want to make it but I have a size 10mm needle, would that be okay? Or do I need to buy a different yarn?
Hi! I think as long as you’re using a size 5 weight yarn, it should be fine. You’re stitches will have a more loose and stretchy look, but it will still look lovely. Just keep in mind your cardigan will be longer than my sample, unless you start with fewer starting chains. You will also need fewer rows per panel. That’s the beauty of this pattern, it’s easy to customize 😍
@@fastkittykrafts9045 thanks so much!!!
Are their written instructions
Would a 7mm hook work the same?
Hi there! A 7mm hook will make a more dense fabric unless you are using a lighter weight yarn (like size 4 wt). If you use a 7mm hook, your panels will come out smaller than the sample, so you would need to start with a longer chain, and add extra rows. Good luck, hope that helps!
What size hook did you use for this? 8mm?
I used a 9mm hook
@@fastkittykrafts9045 thank you, I did actually realize what hook you were using after because I’ve watched the video like 10 times already 😂 after all the video I watched I liked this one the most and have decided to go along with this video for my sweater 🥰
@@tonimarie3168 what a nice thing to say, I’m glad you picked my sweater! If you need written instructions the link to the pattern is in the description box. Have fun! ❤️
hey i just found that tutorial and i really want to make that beautiful cardigan but i would like to see how it looks from the back . is it possible to see it ? x
Oh no, I just checked, I never took any pics from the back! Or I deleted them...I’m so sorry 😢
@@fastkittykrafts9045 oh ok them imma just try to ask , so the back lengths is supposed to be 20inches from shoulder to shoulder but 20 inches is much longer than my shoulders
@@Lili-ng4pv yes it’s 20 inches from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, but it is meant to be loose and have that ”drop shoulder” look. My shoulders are very narrow, so the seams drop down way past my shoulders. The back panel width should usually measure about half your hip measurement. (Or more for a loose fitting sweater) Hope that helps, glad you asked❤️
Do you need to block these pieces before seaming together ?
No, not necessary 👍
En español por favor esta lindq
Wheres the sleeves
🙂🙂🙂
¡¡¡¡Que hermoso chaleco!!!. Pero lamentablemente el idioma es una gran barrera.
the sleeves confuse me so much
The finished product was horrid. I started questioning my self when there was 2 inches for the neck. This cannot possibly be right.. I kept thing I did something wrong, would go back, frog, redo, and 2 inches for the neck. Finally, I thought it will work out with the trim...nope. Too bad.
Hmm, it didn’t look good with 2” for the neck? You could just make the front panels narrower. The smaller neck helps it stay on better. I’ve seen many patterns where there’s no space at all! It’s just a personal preference I guess. I’m sorry it didn’t work out❤️
