Very helpful and well done. Trivial things that may not matter at all: I would have had to verify the accuracy of my ohmmeter before trusting it within a few tenths of an ohm . I would have torqued the stator in two steps the first about half of the final torque setting just in case that helped insure it was seated square and unstressed. I didn't hear you state which type of loctite you used, and some folks would have covered less of the thread length.
Thanks and great points! I have not had my multimeter verified and that is something I will look in to doing and is worth noting. When installing the bolts in to the stator I used the t-handle to get them partially torqued and then the torque wrench for final torque specs for that reason- doing it to half torque is not a bad idea though. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks . Watching this helpful video, makes it easy to change the stator on my 2009 Versys 650. Since the new Battery and new Voltage Regulator that I installed didn't help. I know that the new Stator that I bought will make it work like new, again. 😎👍
@@alexdombi-weridetwo Thanks. This was the first time that I've changed a stator on a motorcycle. Watching your video made the job a lot easier. Btw, I also used a "Razor Blade" to remove the old gasket & silicone. My charging system works "like brand new",✨ again ! 💪🤑👍

The wires from the stator and the regulator should just be simple plastic connectors- push the tab in and pull apart. If they will not separate easily odds are the pins are fused together or the plastic itself melted from overcharging. Some replacement kits will include new connectors if this is the case.
@thangnguyen-tf4yo at 26:26 you can see I use my finger to press down on the tab of the connector. The socket is used to remove the bolts, but that's it.
Hi Alex, oi have same problem with my 2010 versys 650, but before I remove the old stator out I check the stator and shows 0.2 Ohm, the new one I did order from amazon is 0.4Ohm, so now I am confused, I took my battery to charge and try it again. thanks for the video its very helpful!
I just looked up the 2010 service manual and see the specs for your stator are to be between .18 and .27 ohms of resistance. If your old stator shows .2 it should still be ok. If the replacement is showing .4 ohms I'd return it to AmazonOK. Does your bike not start at all now? I'd be curious to know the voltage at the battery when it's running.
