I still get goose bumps watching this video. Flat out on the foxhole at 227km/h through the compression, diff overheating, and following a much more powerful car. What can you ask more ?
And after that video brother you want me to believe that a RWD carlike Porsche is miles ahead in cornering than a rally car like gr yaris circuit edition. No bro i dont accept it.By the way i start to believe that you are a real psycho supercar killer🤪👊👊👊.
That wasn't flat out though. Flat out is when you aren't lifting the throttle at any given point through a corner or on the approach of a corner, which is pretty much exactly what you did.
@@NoName-st6zc I was flat in the corner. Did a lift before hand to bring weight to the front and help on turn in. If you know the corner and how the elevation changes there, you'll know that ending on the outside wall is not uncommon.
Very cool vids, as an GR owner myself, I appreciate and am amazed at what you can achieve in the car. I also like the fact, that you are not going all out with the mods, just all out with your driving. Small maintenance suggestion, the rear diff/clutch pack holds only 0.5 L of oil. I changed my at 1000 km, lots of contamination, then at 4000 km, much better. Not saying that this will prevent overheating issues, just be aware that the oil in the back is under a lot of stress. The oil change is simple and quick.
Excelente volta!!!
Good example of how the slower speed advantages of a smaller car turn to disadvantages when it gets anywhere near 200 kph. The Porker driver was taking it relatively easy, keeping off the curbs and so on so there was no race going on there. Good bang for buck those Yaris' though.
one thing I'd do with a powerfull car... If I saw his white yaris coming from behind, I'd let him pass ^^ This would cost less frustration than having him on my ass for the whole damn lap! :D :D NICELY DONE.... skills ++ ;) ;)
Beautiful impressive power in that 991, which means he has to be an even better driver to use it. He was quick in the straights and good in the turns too. Which in turn makes Me Yaris's follow all the more impressive. Really fun to watch. Fantastic driving Great Motors.
Syvecs makes an awd module for the GR Yaris that will raise the temp protection activation and will also go through some preventive pressure self adjustment to avoid sudden 4wd to 2wd. It's also fully tunable to get the most out the yaris awd system.
you can see that the Porsche driver seems to have gotten a bit tired at the end, you also need good fitness and a bit of cold blood to drive fast on the Nordschleife
I am making so changes for next season. Hopefully that will fix it. I just want to be able to run a fuel tank empty (~5 laps) before the diff overheats
It just amazes me how much badge snobbery there is, even on a respected racetrack like the Ring, where you'd think most of the drivers there know enough to know when they see someone better than them in the rearview mirror. Okay, the Yaris GR is a classic little anomaly in road cars, it was meant to be a rally car, but not a race car. But this is like the third video of yours where I see other drivers refusing to yield when you're clearly the better driver. Props to you for your patience...
They are not outright dangerous in the wet. You have to me wary of aqua planning which is substantially worst than the stock tires. I am on the second set of cup 2s. What would you like to see ?
If it were setup for the street it would be more comfortable than the stock suspension. It's definitely less busy. I think it's lowered significantly, it measures 335mm in the front and 320mm in the back from the wheel center to the edge of the wheel arch. A stock car will very likely be above 400mm.
@@GreatMotors I was interested specifically in the nordschleife Setup, I recon it's harder but not unbearable on the street? Are you doing something about the rear clutch overheat?
Yes. It turns to 2 wheel drive. So you will have some more torque steer coming out of turns, and you might feel the front loosing traction and spinning up
theres nothing to solve there really as this is just the downside of the design of this AWD system that it can overheat when you push it really hard for an extended period of time. the car will detect that and just switch to 2WD in order to avoid damage to the AWD system.
And get a roll cage. Man you are awesome but you're at the edge often. It's only going to take once over that edge ruin your day or life. I don't mean to be a buzzkill. I love bikes n cars, and especially on fast twisties. I ride my local mountains often. But I'm in full gear everytime. Because I like to push it, I know when I get a GR Corolla or whatever, I'm putting in a roll cage etc, and definitely wearing a helmet at the track. I've already got a Simpson race/ fire suit.
