I had almost as much fun watching Neil round those corners as it looked like you did, John! 63 mph is a big number no matter where it's accomplished. Well done to both of you😀
Was fun watching u guys do that. Love the Velo mobiles but I live in Singapore Im thinking 30mins inside that I would come out like a steamed or pickled cucumber 🤣
62.9 mph is massive, even for a Milan (I suspect). It seems likely this was a GPS/tracking error. I don't mean to detract from the performance, impressive indeed! I only want to point out the dubiousness of that max speed datum.
I think your forgetting who was riding, Neil has been training for a year and a half, five days a week. He can push silly Watts now, my poor Milan is creaking from the power that passed through its bones lol 😂
Plus with did have a back up GPS unit which Neil uses to record all training rides then sends data from it to his coach. The back up device recorded exactly the same speed.
I agree. Didn’t get the record and yet somehow had a max speed dimensionally higher than the rider who did have the record. Doesn’t seem very likely. Max speed test in more controlled conditions would be interesting though.
When are these gonna be available in India? Dying to ride one of these. However, great job Neil. Seems like u really have a thing for these velomobiles
For me not easy as I'm nowhere near to the level of fitness required, Neil on the other hand is a prime athlete from the training for the world record attempt.
That is very impressive for a single person to go that fast with no added power. Perhaps a trike with 2 wheels at the rear (add a differential) could be faster if a very similar looking fairing was added which reduced the area at the nose? Then add bigger wheels for speed.
@@velo-ads4206 thanks, because I read different stuff on the internet. In the German forum someone posted that the alpha is faster. But again, you don't have tested alpha 7 with a hood and wheel pants and without power meter. In the kom video Milan sl was equipped with racecap, the alpha was in disadvantage (no hood no pants) How you justify this impression? Higher speeds on the flat with same effort? And how much. It's nice to see a comparison on your channel, possibly with power meters if you have the resources. A video like that im sure will have a big success. I'm undecided between the two, but again I live in Italy, very far from you
Something wrong with your gps speed I think. Going up to over 100kmh with a Milan on that circuit? Impossible! If you accelerate so fast on this circuit and brake down again from this high speed, why did you nor do the lap in 3min? Don‘t trust in gps for top speed!
Do you make your own bicycle? In Japan, the number of bicycles is so small that no information comes in. I want the Japanese to teach in an easy-to-understand manner. nice to meet you
The segment is here: www.strava.com/segments/620895 - record 4mins 58s on Sep 8, 2016 -> --www.strava.com/activities/704485939#17851313441-- --- Now for that record, with "normal" bike, his average speed was 53.2km/h, with peak at 61.9km/h. So how did you really get above 100km/h? I rather think you had max speed of 62/63km/h (not in miles/h)
WOW! 63 mph. With no E-assist ! That really says something for the aerodynamics.
Down to earth guys reaching for the stars. Love it!
Holy cow, Neil. 63 mph!? Amazing.
Its a need not a want. All i need to do now is sell a kidny to buy one lol. Fantastic vid guys well done. What a beautiful piece of engineering
Thanks this put a smile on my face.
Sounds like loads of fun. Well done chaps.
These guys are awesome! Nice to see genuinely nice blokes having a good time with something their passionate about

Thanks Gary it was an amazing morning :🙂
Hi there John and Neil. Great video I love it.
You are the MAN Neil! What a geezer! Congratulations. Strava just tells me - Congratulations you got off your arse.
Was fun watching u guys do that. Love the Velo mobiles but I live in Singapore Im thinking 30mins inside that I would come out like a steamed or pickled cucumber 🤣
u would need to seal it and put an AC in .... I think the MRT is a wiser choice after all🤣
05:52 - "Bloody hell" indeed! That speed is totally fantastic.
Its inspiring how happy you are!
All fun and games until we meet the hills 😂
loved that. I would stop traffic for you offering the autos free coffee or drink till you passed the red light if I was there
Great speed. Are you/y’all going to be at Battle Mountain this year?
That was pretty awesome...
Amazing! Two guys, who AIN'T "spring chickens", pulling in numbers like that. There's GOT to be "something" in these Velomobiles?
Wow that Milan fangs along.
Battle Mountain is calling 💪
63 mph - London seems to be a nice place for riding a bike ;)
Great video, those bikes go fast!

@@velo-ads4206 Roger that. Wow. That's some incredible power and speed!
Guys, have fun but sorry, forget that top speed. We are humans and on earth there are existing physics. This data is ridiculous.
I agree. Didn’t get the record and yet somehow had a max speed dimensionally higher than the rider who did have the record. Doesn’t seem very likely. Max speed test in more controlled conditions would be interesting though.
61 with a heart condition i've got have one of these Milan's.
Whats the difference between the Milan SL and the GT?
Like the hair cut. And can you tell us more about the red light? Is it a pedestrian crossing type? And how come you kept hitting it.
Hi yes pedestrian crossing type with button 🔳 to press.
Fab content, love this stuff.
Loving the channel, just perusing some old uploads.
This guy is so under rated
Wow nice john, great video to
When are these gonna be available in India? Dying to ride one of these. However, great job Neil. Seems like u really have a thing for these velomobiles
Training for the 120kmh he will be doing at battle mountain this year 😉
Well done Neil
Superb!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I'm here from insta 🔥
If the light is red, then you are too slow. :-)
Is the Milan cheaper now as it is used? :-P
If I come to London can I rent one?
@velo-ads how easy would you say it was to get to that speed?
For me not easy as I'm nowhere near to the level of fitness required, Neil on the other hand is a prime athlete from the training for the world record attempt.
@@velo-ads4206 what of i told you i had a design that may just give you the ability to go that fast normally?
Think you'd be interested?
@@Kilted_Dragon what is it?

Nope, the rear is more important in aerodynamics
Is Neil the guy who took the 24 hour record in the Milan?
If you're saying he did 60mph from 4:30 then that is not 60mph .
Which is fastest, milan sl or alpha 7?
Milan pips the Alpha, but alpha climbs better.

what drone are you using?
congrats ! power pedals? click pedals? witch pedals where mounted? cheers, guido
We just had look keo pedals fitted, unfortunately we did not have the garmin vector pedals available.
velo-ads, thanks, I don‘t now this, must be a special high tech click pedal. I have ritchey pedals since 20 years.
by the way - why your dreadlocks had to go?
I was about to cycle to the world's in France and there was a heatwave on in France. I would not have survived otherwise
Waiting for the second attempt. Neil, you can shave 5 seconds or more off that time. Go for it!
Next time we will put faster tires on also. Ie summer tires :)
You have already sold Alpha 7? Is completely missing out the picture.
Could not afford the demonstrator just yet.

Unless I'm mistaken they were onto the joke too ;-)
I seem to remember Neil saying the fast he had gone in Ristretto on a track was less than that
Do you make your own bicycle? In Japan, the number of bicycles is so small that no information comes in. I want the Japanese to teach in an easy-to-understand manner. nice to meet you
These bikes are sold as "velomobile". Google this. 😉
Where should the police send the speeding ticket?
Where ever they like 😁
Where ever they like

Je pense aussi qu'ils ont confondu les unités de mesure de la vitesse... Je ne sais pas s'il faut en rire ou en pleurer, en 2020.
Neil CONGRATULATIONS. And John, that should mean more Alpha's sold, right?
That's a Milan SL 🙂
62.9mls/h on the flat? It has to be downhill u hope impressive stuff
👍👍👍🦸♂️
Better install some airbags... :-)
It sounds like you must have been breaking some speed limits along the way.
That’s a GPS sampling error.
Came here for the velomobile... i could do without the earraping music
You allowed to go that fast on a public road
nope roads have speed limits
Way too fast - if on a track then ok. Thumbs up.
Well done Neil.
