    I'm not understanding how the hellish nightmare of a household was eligible as a family-based services case!

      Father (a DV aBuser) was removed from the home. Mom was viewed as a dv victim. Family based services to ensure mom could care for the children.

    When I was fostering our grandkids (we’ve since adopted both) it was stressed to us that they not have unsupervised contact. If we allowed them to take the children we could lose them ourselves. Everyone who takes in children with a state case is told the same thing. The parents knew. Language barrier or not. So that is a horse shit defense.

    Bless all first responders, medical professionals and those who help, protect and serve. However, I’m always cautious of child abuse pediatricians cause some are totally oblivious to genetic disorders or diseases, and automatically go to child abuse when none is there. But in this case, she’s spot on.

      When I first started watching this court and judge Baker where Kendra works commonly I really liked her. She had a couple cases where she advocated amazingly and even if I disliked her clients, I could respect her doing her job. But she's devolved! I have seen her change over the last few years and not for the better

    • @Pettiquote
      @Pettiquote 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@OnTropolisI have noticed this, too. I used to really like her and respect how she advocated, even when I think most reasonable people would have disagreed with her (mainly due to who she represented, as you said), and she could be fierce, a good attorney. But there certainly has been a visible devolvement in the last year or two.

    OMG, that CPS lawyer's voice drives me nuts. The upswing in her voice partway through the question(up)...and then at the end of the question(up)...
    It sounds like a girl in middle school, not serious, and not professional. I would not hire her in private practice to rep me in court. She is no Camille Vasques. Lol.
    I've made this comment several times before. I once recommended a resident surgeon take voice lessons because she sounded like a little kid - it helped her career. Law, being a vocal profession, needs strong voices.

    • @karendkn1960
      @karendkn1960 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True but in honesty what percentage is that? I know the majority of people in court aren’t there unless the law enforcement have a pretty strong case at least in uk the cps are pretty sure before lengthy trials are started that person is guilty so yep some may be innocent but majority aren’t and you know those statistics as defence lawyer here in uk it’s where lawyers make most money not in prosecution! So are morals flexible apparently so😀😀

    • @ldegraaf
      @ldegraaf 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The role of a defense attorney is to ensure that your clients rights are not violated and to communicate the defendant's side. When they do their job they are a critical part of our justice system and ensure that the state can't just randomly go around charging people with crimes. Just knowing that a defense attorney is going to be looking over their shoulders means that our justice system is that much better for everyone.
      Studies have shown that in areas where there aren't enough defense attorneys to adequately represent defendants, especially those who can't afford attorneys the rate of prosecutorial and judicial misconduct rises. So, even if they don't represent a ton of innocent people they keep the justice system fair for everyone.

    i am curious if a person would get aggrevated over a child fussing and crying.., Anyone especially with only one recent fracture..,, the bone starts to heal within a short period of time.. I just get a strange feeling. I am not going to say which one but I get a very strange feeling over the face as they testify. curious to see how the child would act around the workers. Sometimes I feel like the ones that are supposed to be protecting them at the most vulnerable times. I would feel different if fractures would have happened in more than one spot. as far as parents not saying 😮t isn’t possible just curious what children act like around the worker.. good call for judge to put them with grandparents

    How about mandatory birth control, removal of parental rights, and prosecution for the parents. The best placement would be with family if possible, or someone who can adopt them together.
    But the BEST THING IS TO USE BIRTH CONTROL……STOP HAVING CHILDREN with unfit people!! Violent, your bf/gf of the week, or one night stands, drug addicted people, immature, unemployed, someone with other children, come on people. Children aren’t toys, they’re innocent.

    • @lostineggsaisle

      I agree with you. It's a very unpopular opinion, but I believe an involuntary sterilization. If you have multiple CPS cases that have proven to be valid and physical abuse cases towards children you shouldn't have the privilege or right to have more children.
      Everybody wants to bring abortion into this, but these aren't the women that seek out abortions. They just keep having children. Legalizing it for any and every reason everywhere wouldn't solve this problem. There needs to be something implemented. I don't know how or what exactly, but somehow someway these women need to stop having so many children that they can't and don't want to take care of.

      I think she's intensely focused. I imagine it must get to her as the main court reporter in that area for two judges with a really big geographical area to cover. She hears the worst of the worst.. not being a lawyer who I think has to learn how to numb some of the impact over the years.. I imagine she has some emotional evenings after work. To me, she looks like she's concentrating on typing the words while trying not to absorb them if that makes sense.
