That’s a tough one. They’re definitely made for different styles of riding though, so I’d say get a procaliber if you want a lightweight bike for climbing and efficiency on lighter trails, and get the roscoe if you want a bike that can handle rougher stuff and harder trails including black diamonds

Why did trek have to make the roscoe 9 the fugliest fuckin color? The 7's got all the cool colors. Idk why they can't just offer all the colors on all the levels. It wouldn't cost them any extra money. It's just a matter of swapping components. That being said, these roscoes blow the specialized fuse out of the water.
I was just trying to order myself the Roscoe 7 yesterday at my local trek dealer but they said they wouldn’t take delivery of that bike until November 2022 so I opted for the Roscoe 8 which they already have on order and I will have it in January. I am sure I will be happy since my current mt bike is 20 years old lol.

Roscoes always get the best colorways. No rack mounts on the 7-9 puts an end to having the most bad ass commuter. Also, looks like the 7 is the best for me

Great comparison video. I'm getting into mountain biking on a very tight budget so I went with the Roscoe 6. It's a shame the frame isn't the same as the higher end models but I guess they have to save money somewhere. I will certainly upgrade to something nicer once I have more money when I finish college and in my career. The 6 should get me by until then.

It has been released but there are still a lot of part shortages and bicycle companies have been pretty backed up. Unfortunately those ETA dates are pretty far out :(

You’d be a size large at 183cm or a size XL or even XXL if you grow 15cm more. As I mentioned not all roscoes come in the XXL size, but XL should be fine I’d say to go in between the sizes and leave room to grow into. In terms of deciding between the models, that depends on what kind of trails you want to ride. If you’ll ride difficult trails and think you’ll be riding a lot, you’d should probably get a 7 or 8, can also get 9 if you want the best. Get the 6 if you’re starting out and are on a budget. I have the 7 and love it, but the 8 I think would be more than enough for most trails and would not need parts to be upgraded much at all

I'm on a bike with a 32t chain ring and 11t smallest on the rear cassette. It's still not as fast as I want down some gradual downhills where I'm still pedaling hard. I'm on 27.5" so hoping a 29" tire will add a little speed. I may end up with a 34t chain ring upgrade on any bike I buy. I don't hill climb too much in my local area.

4:10 somebody over there at Trek has horrible tastes in colors, either the color or faded two colors are very un-lovable, or else the colors of the decals clash with the color. And I just got to say without fear of crritizim the lime green color with specks of black and, the two tone tan colors for the top of the line is the worst of them all, whada, whoda, howda?..I didn't know they could put the mood we feel on Monday into a paint matching computer.

The pins that go thru the caliper are a touch longer. How do you get hold of them if you need replacements. The ones that come with the shimano pads are too small.
I ordered one from the local bike shop last year and just got it in last week. It ended up being the '22 model of the Roscoe 8. Coming from a Flightline DX2, this is amazing to ride. Absolutely love it.
Got a 6 a few months ago, I haven’t been into biking for about 20 years. So the roscoe 6 was more than every bike I’ve ever bought combined. So far I am really enjoying it, but wish I would have watched this first, I would have bit the bullet and gone for the 7.
I was disappointed because the top 3 bikes all have 29 inch tires , I was looking for a bike with 27.5 because I test rode a 29 and a 27.5 side by side and I preferred the 27.5 because it launches faster. Back to the drawing board.
Please tell me there is a Roscoe 9 without fake mud black accents. I like a clean frame! That might be reason for me to go with a Giant XTC Advanced 29 2.
Unfortunately not in the US :( there is another color option available in other countries that does not have the black speckles though. It’s a crimson color

I went in looking at a Marlin 7, walked out with a Roscoe 6. A better fit for me, fun west coast riding rather then XC trails.
