This is just a quick video showing how to program a Chamberlain Clicker Keypad. Here is the link for the manual to find your opener ID here: embed.widencdn.net/pdf/plus/c...
Note: these instructions are for initial programming only. To change the code from an existing code open the video description he posted. On the TH-cam app click on the bold “more” word. Then click on the blue words which is a link to the original manual and follow the instructions for changing an existing code. It’s much simpler.
Thank you for the video. Yours was most helpful and thank you for the link for which number to use cuz my learn button is yellow and I had no idea which one to use.
Thanks! Finally got mine working after I observed you not waiting for the backlites to go out between steps 4 & 5. Step 3 tells us to wait for them to go out, so i waited after step 4 too and it would not work.
Thanks for this. I've been trying to match my clicker to our brand new Lift Master Elite series using this method... but without any success. Am I missing something?
The only thing I would say is make sure that you have the correct programming number for the keypad which for your opener should be 8. Otherwise, the keypad may be too old and not support the new LiftMaster garage door openers although that is probably not the case. Hope this helps, Alex.
I followed your instructions, but now whatever keys I hit my garage door will still open... It does not seem right. Any suggestions in this case? Thanks
Thank you, clear video. However my Overhead Door (aka Genie) with a learn button #5 doesn't seem to work. Other videos says you have to hit zero twice after entering it during the 'learn' phase (I did that). So, I'm doing this while the clicker is attached to the wall outside. Does it have to be really close like you have it? Thank you.
Hey Joseph, try to set up your keypad using the code # 6 and see if that works. Otherwise, you could try moving the keypad closer to the garage door opener or replacing the battery.
@@InsideAlexsToolbox Thank you sir...that worked! "6#" and not 5#. I was SURE that was correct...thanks for having me try that. You just saved the owners of this place some bucks for a new opener. :)
Good morning, I recently moved to my new place and we have one of them garage thing that you have. What if you dn't know that # and dn't have a manual?
Good morning, I have a link for the manual for the keypad in the description of the video. If you are looking for the manual for the actual garage door opener unit, you have to find the model number of the opener and look online.
Marc, I have never seen or heard of that happening before, I will ask some of the other people of the garage door community to see if they know what the problem is. My first guess is something has gone wrong with the keypad and it will need to be replaced. I will let you know what I find out. -Alex
You have to know what brand of opener you have and color of the learn button if it is a Chamberlain branded opener. Just to make sure, here is the correct manual for the keypad. embed.widencdn.net/pdf/plus/cgi/tztinczpqb/114a3484.pdf?u=mcyivk
My learn code button is yellow, so the ID code is 8. I have been trying to reset the code, I go and hold the # & * key until the flashing stops, I enter a 4-digit code, hit the # key, press 8, hit the # key, press the learn code button, put in my 4-digit code & press 0, nothing happens. Edit: Changed the battery & this method worked! Thanks!!
@@InsideAlexsToolbox thank you so much, i have been fighting this for the last 2 hours and you resolved it so quickly. i should of posted my question earlier. much appreciated.
Thanks! I've tried to watch several videos to get this to work and this is the only one that helped me. Very easy to follow and thanks for the link.

how do I change the pin #. I had several workers in my house and they had to key code. ?
Thank you it worked the first time. Whew!
Excellent
Thank you
Thank you brother!
My smart learn button looks Brown and it's not matching anything on the paper that came with the opener
But .in my case it stopped working i replace the battery. No effect. Just refresh signal keep same number. I can't find id number for keypad
Can you program a second garage door opener with this clicker keypad?
I do not believe that you can. I wish though!

I'm brand new to the place with this set up...upon closer inspection, the Overhead Door model is a Python 2 Series OCG with "Code dodger"
Hey Joseph, try to set up your keypad using the code # 6 and see if that works. Otherwise, you could try moving the keypad closer to the garage door opener or replacing the battery.
@@InsideAlexsToolbox Thank you, I'll give that a try.

What do you do when your garage door is closed and no service door to get inside? How then do I get my keypad to open it since it stopped working
Yeah like if the battery goes dead and it can't work. I guess I need to keep a spare battery and screwdriver in my car?
Anyone know if this specific keypad “locks out” after a certain amount of unsuccessful attempts to open the door?
Yep it sure does
After I input my new code the lights on the lift master do not blink and I do not hear a clicking sound. I don’t know what i’m doing wrong
Make sure you are using the correct code on the keypad for your learn button color.
Merci 🤩
How do I do it for a purple button
I got my keypad working but it works with any code regardless of the pin code I set up. Don't know what I am doing wrong.

How do I find the ID???
Where do I get the ID numbers? I do not have the instruccions I downloaded manual from website but it doesn’t shows my model.

Hey where's the link ???
I cant find the description button for the link... i have a purple button
purple is number 3
My learn code button is yellow, so the ID code is 8. I have been trying to reset the code, I go and hold the # & * key until the flashing stops, I enter a 4-digit code, hit the # key, press 8, hit the # key, press the learn code button, put in my 4-digit code & press 0, nothing happens.

My light won't even go out on clicker key pad when pushing star and pound now,I've tried so many times ?
my overhead door opener has a black button for the learn. how do i find what code to use. thank you..
For your opener, you would use code number 6 when setting up your keypad. Hope this helps.

What opener is this?
2575
If it is
Urple what is the color number?
You would use code number three.

I have a purple learn button and have been using the code number three but it won’t accept my garage code any tips?
So me did you find your ID ?
I got the same purple learn button and it won’t accept my garage code either 🥲
For the opener ids it just has a list It doesn't show any id.It has a list 1 to 9. So is the id the number?
Those numbers and the id's that you need to program to the opener.
@@InsideAlexsToolbox All I see are the numbers 1 to 9. Where is the id numbers?
@@cooldog60 My bad. Spelling mistype, the numbers 1 to 9 are the ID numbers that you need to program.
@@InsideAlexsToolbox Ok Thanks. So the color on mine is yellow it is number 9. So 9 is my id?
@@cooldog60 Yes, that will be your ID number. Follow my same instructions except using 9 as your ID number.
