Things I learned the hard way. 1. Chamberlean, Sears Craftsman, LiftMaster, Master Mechanic & Do It Manufactured 2005 to present with PURPLE smart button is ID: 3 Problem 2- When putting in your 4 digit code hitting # THEN id NUMBER (IN MY CASE NUMBER 3), THEN entering # YOU Have 5 seconds to do this or start over. Problem 3- Don't attach the Keypad to the outside first- rather, have the key pad in your hand 2 feet from the garage door operner unit. Also, Start the set up with the GARAGE Door DOWN. Hope this helps. This is the little stuff that went wrong with me before it worked.

We have had ours for almost 8 years. Working two doors and in and out dozens of times every day in 100 plus Arizona sun. Never a single problem except you have to be patient if you hit the wrong code so the unit can reset. A little tough to do at midnight with coyotes howling! But just now we are having a tough time getting it to reprogram after changing all the door codes? But the video really helped. thx

I followed these instructions to the word and I still can't get it to work with my brand new door opener. I can't find any online help. I may need to drive over it to solve the problem!

This is no help . Should have included a screen shot of the referenced user guides...
took clicker out of package, can't get the cover to slide off to even begin programming. love the comments on this thread, in particular the one about burning down the garage or the one about rolling over clicker with the car to solve the problem. Anyone got a hot tip on how to slide the cover off. Maybe a crow bar?

My pin did work but now it does not. I tried to enter a new pin but the pin doesn't work. And I tried to restart the process but the keyboard does not stop blinking. What do I do?
I have a Genie garage door at the house I just moved into recently, and I can't seem to get this to work at all haha. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I got basically all the steps to work (or so it seems) except getting the genie to link with it. Does the door need to be closed? should the keypad be close to the receiver?
See my comment above. Doesnt' seem to matter if the door is open or shut.

I bought one of these today for my post 1993 model Chamberlain (Type 4), and tried programming it to no avail. The opener wouldn't accept the new remote, and would wipe out the existing remote's codes so that it would not work and would need re-programmed. My house was built in 93', so I am wondering if my opener is maybe in a "grey area" in technology? The remote that came with the opener when we bought the house a year ago works, but I am having a devil of a time fining a second opener that works for this unit.
The Hell with that clicker! Return it!
I plan on just replacing the whole works this summer, and get something with much newer technology.

I have a KLIK2 and I've misplaced my manual. With my new garage door I will need chart #4, which is a Liftmaster opener. Can you tell me the entry ID code, which is step 2 for programming. Thanks

I purchased this item and it appears not to be compatible with the Marantec M4500 Garage door motor? please advise is anyone knows? thanks

Worked when I unplugged overhead unit and plugged back in then pressed learn button. After that I did the steps listed in manual. Hope this helps someone having issues connecting like I was.

I just bought a new home that has this - does anyone know how to RE-program it with a new code???
It seems there are a few different models and they all look the same as near as I can tell. For sure the different models reprogram differently.
After tearing mine off the wall to get to the model number (on the back only) and determining ours is a KLIK2 version I found the KLIK2C instructions worked. This model's reprogramming was distinctly different than the (random) one I found from the first Google search. When the thing was remounted I stuffed the relevant instruction in the battery compartment for the next owner.
The happy news, with the correct instructions in hand it was a snap, good luck!
