The funniest part of lopunny is that gamefreak 100% knew what they were doing -It goes from hating you to loving you by evolving -has wide hips and tucked arms that gives it an hour glass figure -looks like is covering her chest like you mentioned -is a bunny, both a nod to bunny girls as well as the fact that bunnies are infamous for breeding alot -when mega evod, gives it a design that looks like tored pantyhose Like the others feels like pokemon that the community decided but lopunny game freak made to be used on the internet

I was always kinda upset at how the internet reduced Gardevoir from "cool androgynous paper alien angel" to "ooga booga me like woman," so Iron Valiant returning as peak "my gender is [ERROR]" vibes will always make me happy. Gardevoir and Gallade are still cool too though.

I get your feeling, Leafeon, Ralts & Gardevoir is my favorite Pokémons… I am kind of autistic (not meant derogatory) about colors that I like(/dislike) and Leafeon, Ralts, Kirlia & Gardevoir all fall into the light green color that I especially like (the fact that Gallade is just out of the range of green colors that I like, don't exactly help), I have gotten so many jokes about loving them too much but no matter how much I say that it is just the green color I like it do not make it better, the fact that teal mask Ogerpon just managed to squeeze herself into the range of color I like don't exactly help, the one new Pokémon that gets added that is in the color range that I like is 100% female… (I still love her but man…)

I like gothitelle, the colours, the lore, the sounds they make, and also the fact they can be female and male. Gardevoir is nice too but I like dark colours more. Only thing gothitelle needs is wider move pool. Gardevoir has that already, but gothitelle and gothorita need that too. Eviolite gothorita is very cool.
I've loved Gardivour since I was like 9 because in Omega Ruby you get a Gardivourite while Wally gets a Galladite. So I've always liked the symmetry of this because when I saw Wally get a Ralts I wanted one myself.

People overblow this one Dex entry and assume the entire species kidnaps children on the regular. Fire Red: It carries a pendulum-like device. Lopunny was one of my favorite pokemon because of how strong its mega is and because rabbits are my favorite animal. I never understood how people would loose their minds about it because for me it's just a rabbit on two legs that's shy but decides to choose violence when it mega-evolves
Honestly the "sexual" aspects of lopunny is very overblown. "It's based of bunny dancers" gothitele is based of goth girls who gives a crap. Also there's a bunny dancer emoji and that's not sexualised I just don't get it. Lopunny isn't even thick there legs are just attached to the sides of there body.

I actually REALLY love Hypno. One of my favorite Pokémon. The Creepypasta was what ramped up my love for Hypno, made me appreciate it more. I like myself a creepy Pokémon, and a creepy story. (Hence why I also LOVE Creepypastas.) Hypno's Lullaby made me actually look at dark, ghost and psychic type Pokémon and then... I found my favorite Pokémon: Cacturne. I absolutely LOVE Cacturne's design, I mean, when do you see a cactus scarecrow in other types of media?
So about the competitive section (since I have a decent amount of experience): The big thing making Mega Rayquaza so busted is that it could mega evolve without a mega stone, instead gaining the ability to mega evolve if it knew Dragon Ascent. This meant it could hold an item, something which no other mega can do. Combined with the already powerful Delta Stream, its insane stats, and absurd movepool, it was easily way too much. Landorus' Therian Form is easily the more infamous one, largely because it likes to use U-turn a lot, which can make it incredibly annoying to go up against. Intimidate and Stealth Rock only make it more frustrating, as it can often force switches, which are then punished by the existence of sneaky pebbles. New players are often especially frustrated by Stealth Rock, as it's often difficult to wrap your head around just how much value these things can give. Landorus-Incarnate is definitely strong, but it's not particularly annoying, and most players won't encounter it. Though, in doubles, Incineroar has largely replaced Landorus-Therian, with hazards being worse in doubles, and Incineroar having Fake Out and Parting Shot, which can be even more infuriating. Incineroar could honestly be in either section of this video. Smeargle has far more annoying tricks it can pull. Baton Pass is definitely something it's known for, but in doubles it was able to run Darkrai's signature move, Dark Void, which could put both Pokemon on the opposing side to sleep. As a result, the move was severely nerfed in Gen 7, with it now having worse accuracy than Hypnosis, and only being usable by Darkrai. Darkrai went from an incredible Ubers threat to lackluster because of this. Toxapex you mostly nailed, though Scald is another key part of its moveset, the removal of which was a big factor in it falling out of OU. The burn chance was especially nasty when it came to dealing with it. It also wasn't exclusively used on stall, since it was a pretty effective support mon. Ferrothorn isn't really a "setup mon", though it does "set up" hazards, the term "setup mon" usually refers to sweepers running stat boosting moves. Admittedly, the terminology is a little confusing here, and Ferrothorn CAN run boosting sets, but they're usually gimmicks. Ferrothorn also has Leech Seed, a move that is also capable of becoming incredibly annoying. While Ferrothorn doesn't do this, some Pokemon will run Substitute alongside Leech Seed, which is quite possibly one of the most annoying things to go up against if you're not prepared for it. ok thanks for listening to my competitive pokemon ranting i get very autistic about it sometimes

I think people get side eyed by others when they mention certain characters who have gotten the rule34 treatment because of how it’s sorta cool to publicly dislike porn or people who aren’t ashamed of expressing their sexual desires. It’s embedded in the culture to think this way or mask yourself to pretend to think that way. You could do everything right, like do consenting things with a partner(s) and use protection and you’ll still be seen on the same level as addicts if you don’t verbally regret having sex or feel ashamed of doing a perfectly normal act afterwards. Hyper sexuality is a major problem too, but i think that’s only the repercussions after having strict views on how you can and can’t have sex in a straight relationship for so long. All that builds up, so of course people are gonna go crazy and get addicted, most people under prudish or religious house holds weren’t taught how to properly tackle sex and control their impulses to it.

I still get wierd looks when I say Gardevoir and Lopunny are some of my favorites. I just have pleasant memories of traumatizing my friend by status locking and sweeping said friend. Dizzy punch for confusion on the rabbit and hitting 6 consecutive Hypnosis in gen 7. His trauma brings me joy even 7 years later.

I get it, i always though that when people said smash and are horny to an anthro pokemon they were joking and not being serious at all but aparently some are not joking. As another furry who's favorite pokemon is Dragonite i also really like and prefer anthro types "furry bait" pokemon but never to an attraction type of love, i just find them really cool. As an exemple i loove Toxtricity because of how cool he looks. the reason mega raiquaza got banned had a lot less to do with its ability and a lot more with the fact that it was the only pokemon that could mega evolve without the need for a mega stone. the fact that it could run whatever item it wanted was what made it trully insane. yes, landorus indeed got banned for its ability, but you forgot 3 details about it: 1) the ability sheer force for some reason negates life orb's damage penalty (as long the move used had a secondary effect). 2) landorus has nasty plot, thus making it overpowered. 3)also its defences were decent. it is not a wall, but it certainly isn't fragile enough to be a glass canon.
Okay but Incinaroar easily falls into the competitive part. It cannot be understated how brutal they were in the competitive scene over the course of gen 7-9.

My three favorite pokemon are deoxys, Gardevoir and Lucario, because the last two have great designs and really complement each other in typing and move pools! (And deoxys is SWEET) But I never understood why they got that sort of treatment from the Internet, and I have time and time again had to explain my choices to people who immediately assume I'm a creep, it makes no sense, especially for all the effort put in to them! Fun fact, Gardevoir's name means "to keep watch" in French and has the original Japanese name Sirknight, which was like a medieval call for help in a hue and cry.

You know the 2nd part of your video reminds me too much of 2 memes floating around. Meme 1 includes a father coming to his son's room questioning the pokemon he has, which then shows the son in bed with a Machoke, an Incineroar, and a Rillaboom. The 2nd meme is of Leon being disappointed of seeing the team of the trainer he endorsed which includes a Gardevoir, Tsareena, Lopunny, Meowscarada, Ditto, and a white Vaporeon.

You missed a thing about Mega Ray: THE ONLY MEGA WITHOUT AN ITEM RESTRICTION. Basically, Rayquaza needs to learn Dragon Ascent in order to get the ability to mega evolve, and I mean... how are you saying no? That move is literally a Flying type version of Close Combat! So, on top of Mega Ray's already outrageous stats, it's also the only Mega Evolution able to hold items like Choice Scarf, Choice Band or Life Orb.
As a competitive singles player, the video is rlly good! I do have a few notes tho :3 2:48 Mega rayquaza's biggest reason for being banned is the fact that it's a MEGA POKEMON THAT CAN STILL HOLD AN ITEM even the primals have to hold their orbs all ray needs is to run an already very strong move that being said, delta stream is still a very strong ability, just not mega ray's best trait 4:04 while your analysis of sheer force is correct, that applies to Landorus-Incarnate forme, which is much less seen and **much** less infamous than its therian forme. Landorus-Therian has the ability intimidate, which lowers both opponent's attack stats, and boast an absurd 145 attack, allowing it to both support its teammates and fire off devastating earthquakes and rock slides 5:12 while everything you said about smeargle is correct, I would also like to add that smeargle spamming dark void in VGC (doubles), in addition to being absolutely hell to deal, caused dark void to be nerfed from 80(?) accuracy to a mere 55, less than hypnosis (which darkrai also learns)
There's also the fact that Game Freak made it so that only Darkrai can actually use the move. Even if it pops up for Metronome, if it's not Darkrai using it, it'll fail.
Yeah, I think my species is the only case where their reputation could actually be defined as 'ruined'. Whereas nearly all of the other Pokemon have been subject to systemic internet corruption, so for them there wasn't so much a time where they were fully 'normal'. But Vaporeon was for the most part a completely innocent Pokemon up until 2020 onwards. I feel really bad for my brothers and the people who love Vaporeons for their cuteness. They deserve better 💙

I think the reason Lucario gets the "furrybait" tag thrown on them is because of their dog like design and the most popular type of fursonas in the furry community are usually some kind of Canidae. (Dogs, wolfs, coyotes, foxes, etc.) Gardevoir, Lopunny and Meowscarada are unfortunate because of their famine looking designs and the fact that there will always be horny people on the internet, meanwhile Vaporeon was sadly caught in the crosshair of a random 4Chan troll or degen who wanted to make a Shrek is Love Shrek is Life ripoff. (Don't look that up btw.) But even if they have tainted reputations, don't let that stop you from enjoying them.

Great video! Honestly people shouldn’t be shamed or side eyed for just liking Pokemon. Shame on anybody who does this. Yes there will always people who like Pokémon/trainers in that way (including me) but that’s just the internet. True story one of my friends actually got bullied for just liking Pokémon. Got called a furry and whatnot. I could not stand for the bullying at all and ended up stepping in and defended them. Side note Hypno just disturbs me. Can’t tell ya how many nightmares I’ve had because of it. But you know Pokémon, they always gotta have some kind of disturbing or weird Pokédex entries in their games.
Gothoritas also likes to hypnotize people, but I still like them. I walk with my male gothorita buddy in Go, and he is almost best buddy with me now. Would like if the game let me do more cool stuff together with him and other cute and cool pokémon. I did also walk with other pokémon buddies. Developers of the game did make bad choices but I still like to walk with buddy pokémon.
Lopunny actually has some cool design origins! Trust me, it's more than just a playboy bunny, it's a whole thing... Lockstin & Gnoggin has a great video about it!
I just feel bad for Hypno. I’ve seen art of Hypno getting abused and people were just cheering it on because of his online reputation. And I’m talking blood and all it was disturbing. Never before had I seen a pokemon get so much hate that people wanted to inflict real world harm onto it.
In my opinion i think Pachirisu was ruined by the internet too because some of the memes about that moment of the oficial tournament was exagerated,some people made memes about that like that pokemon is very powerful or a lifesaver but was really a "human" shield then anything but some memes misunderstood about that bieng like a clickbait.
Pokemon Emerald was my first Pokemon game (started this year), and it really shone a light on me on seeing Pokemon in a different way compared to just watching them on screen in anime like I used to as a kid. And I will say, it did help some of them to really grow on me. And yes, that included Gardevoir. Found them as a Ralts, I was drawn to how it looked like a lost child and said "All right, I will care for it", and I did all the way to it becoming Gardevoir. From her Pokedex entry, to her ability to psychically one punch the opposition into the stratosphere, she (yes, she, my Gardevoir was female according to my Dex) became part of my A-Team very fast. It felt like really having a guardian angel that cared for my trainer on the team, it just felt special. I can imagine a bond between my trainer and his mons, and his starter especially, but Gardevoir seems to be a unique bond that I find unique to it that I find hard to describe but I find it very wholesome nonetheless. Of course even shes not beating my favorite, the Blaziken, his super powered chicken thighs will kick anything into atoms. 10/10 monster right there.

As for "why do people find it attractive", remember this; Ivy from Valves latest game, Deadlock, is a rather ugly looking gargoyle. She's not conventionally attractive at all, and is clearly a monster. But right now she's the most fanarted (of all sorts) of all the characters because everyone was really drawn to her scrappy but friendly personality. What I'm trying to say is, you never know who or what will go all out on fanart on what on the internet. You can never truly predict what's gonna happen out there. But hey, at least you can still find cool fanarts! Doomkemons animations are very fun

I made Lopunny the main love interest of my PMD story when I was a child before I knew what the internet did to it. I just chose it because it shares a lot of game data with Lucario, who the main character is.
My favorite is also Meowscarada!!! It used to be Espeon but Sprigatito was my 1st ever pokemon and Meowscarada is now my favorite (violet was my 1st pokemon game) I do still have a female Espeon on my team lol

I'm so sad I cannot appreciate Gardevoir more without looking like a creep. Because if we put aside all the... ""Fanart"" stuff around her, I think it's a cool pokemon, with a good design and concept, that can look super cool (especially with black holes)... But even Google won't let me in peace with the... Explicit stuff if I try to look for artworks of her ffs. For lucario, the blue wolf (yeah I know it's rather a jackal... But blue wolf sounds cooler imo sorry), I'm kinda angry of how he can be treated (not everyone, let's be clear). Because of it, I can't feel safe when saying he's my favorite pokemon, being afraid of being associated this way : "lucario = furry (can we let them in peace one day ? Sometimes it sounds like they're looked as bad as n*zis on the internet it's preposterous) =... Creative weird things. Damn it, even when playing SSBU (guess who I play 😅 ?), I feel never safe when telling who I play... Despite nearly having 0 issue from others players who're like "Oh cool, it's rare to find someone playing him... And he's pretty cool !" I can't really figuring out why it's the case ! Why him and not another one ? Is it because of his popularity (tbh, Gamefreak is aware of this, so he received EVERYTHING : a mega, a movie (that rocks, I agree 100%), a place in well known trainers team, marchandising... The official ones !) ? A good timing ? Just... Why ? However, to put a grain of salt on what I said, I feel he's, sure... Doomed by the bad stuffs, but is hopefully blessed by an equally, if not greater amount of good things. Unlike Gardevoir, I can genuinely look for arts of him/her without having (too many) bad surprises. I found too many times amazing arts of him (playing with aura in those arts bring awesome colors and visuals imo). For vaporeon, personally, I don't mind him too much. I think his design is on good side, with great balance of cutness/coolness. NO, the reason I mention him is purely personal : One day someone told me they were sad about pokemon because she received harsh reactions for having vaporeon as favorite pokemon. I felt so much compassion for her, as I kinda experienced the same troubles with lucario, it marked me in the long run... And for those whose vaporeon is their favorite one : your eeveelution is cool, f_ck those copypastas, and YOU're cool ! ... As someone who's "Into" hypnosis, I avoid hypno like the plague just because of how ugly and weird it is. I also feel like Lucario could fall into both camps just because the clear favoritism Game Freak has showed it in the past, giving it a movie and dedicating an entire section of the game in Pokemon X and Y to its Mega form... actually, I could reasonably see pokemon who have had their reputation ruined by Game Freaks sheer favoritism towards them having their own category in this debate. Pokemon like Pikachu, Charizard, and Lucario could easily fall into this category.
Fun fact: In the Japanese fandom, Gardevoir is seen as androgynous. Also, according to its designer, it’s not meant to be a woman, but an angel.

I actually REALLY love Hypno. One of my favorite Pokémon. The Creepypasta was what ramped up my love for Hypno, made me appreciate it more. I like myself a creepy Pokémon, and a creepy story. (Hence why I also LOVE Creepypastas.) Hypno's Lullaby made me actually look at dark, ghost and psychic type Pokémon and then... I found my favorite Pokémon: Cacturne. I absolutely LOVE Cacturne's design, I mean, when do you see a cactus scarecrow in other types of media?
Cacturne is great and I don't hate hypno, I was just being a little mean to it. I don't love it though, but I get why people think it's cool!
So about the competitive section (since I have a decent amount of experience):
The big thing making Mega Rayquaza so busted is that it could mega evolve without a mega stone, instead gaining the ability to mega evolve if it knew Dragon Ascent. This meant it could hold an item, something which no other mega can do. Combined with the already powerful Delta Stream, its insane stats, and absurd movepool, it was easily way too much.
Landorus' Therian Form is easily the more infamous one, largely because it likes to use U-turn a lot, which can make it incredibly annoying to go up against. Intimidate and Stealth Rock only make it more frustrating, as it can often force switches, which are then punished by the existence of sneaky pebbles. New players are often especially frustrated by Stealth Rock, as it's often difficult to wrap your head around just how much value these things can give. Landorus-Incarnate is definitely strong, but it's not particularly annoying, and most players won't encounter it. Though, in doubles, Incineroar has largely replaced Landorus-Therian, with hazards being worse in doubles, and Incineroar having Fake Out and Parting Shot, which can be even more infuriating. Incineroar could honestly be in either section of this video.
Smeargle has far more annoying tricks it can pull. Baton Pass is definitely something it's known for, but in doubles it was able to run Darkrai's signature move, Dark Void, which could put both Pokemon on the opposing side to sleep. As a result, the move was severely nerfed in Gen 7, with it now having worse accuracy than Hypnosis, and only being usable by Darkrai. Darkrai went from an incredible Ubers threat to lackluster because of this.
Toxapex you mostly nailed, though Scald is another key part of its moveset, the removal of which was a big factor in it falling out of OU. The burn chance was especially nasty when it came to dealing with it. It also wasn't exclusively used on stall, since it was a pretty effective support mon.
Ferrothorn isn't really a "setup mon", though it does "set up" hazards, the term "setup mon" usually refers to sweepers running stat boosting moves. Admittedly, the terminology is a little confusing here, and Ferrothorn CAN run boosting sets, but they're usually gimmicks. Ferrothorn also has Leech Seed, a move that is also capable of becoming incredibly annoying. While Ferrothorn doesn't do this, some Pokemon will run Substitute alongside Leech Seed, which is quite possibly one of the most annoying things to go up against if you're not prepared for it.

I think people get side eyed by others when they mention certain characters who have gotten the rule34 treatment because of how it’s sorta cool to publicly dislike porn or people who aren’t ashamed of expressing their sexual desires. It’s embedded in the culture to think this way or mask yourself to pretend to think that way. You could do everything right, like do consenting things with a partner(s) and use protection and you’ll still be seen on the same level as addicts if you don’t verbally regret having sex or feel ashamed of doing a perfectly normal act afterwards.
Hyper sexuality is a major problem too, but i think that’s only the repercussions after having strict views on how you can and can’t have sex in a straight relationship for so long. All that builds up, so of course people are gonna go crazy and get addicted, most people under prudish or religious house holds weren’t taught how to properly tackle sex and control their impulses to it.

I still get wierd looks when I say Gardevoir and Lopunny are some of my favorites. I just have pleasant memories of traumatizing my friend by status locking and sweeping said friend. Dizzy punch for confusion on the rabbit and hitting 6 consecutive Hypnosis in gen 7. His trauma brings me joy even 7 years later.

yes, landorus indeed got banned for its ability, but you forgot 3 details about it:
1) the ability sheer force for some reason negates life orb's damage penalty (as long the move used had a secondary effect).
2) landorus has nasty plot, thus making it overpowered.
3)also its defences were decent. it is not a wall, but it certainly isn't fragile enough to be a glass canon.
Okay but Incinaroar easily falls into the competitive part. It cannot be understated how brutal they were in the competitive scene over the course of gen 7-9.

THANK YOU! Seriously, how is Lucario furry bait? My three favorite pokemon are deoxys, Gardevoir and Lucario, because the last two have great designs and really complement each other in typing and move pools! (And deoxys is SWEET) But I never understood why they got that sort of treatment from the Internet, and I have time and time again had to explain my choices to people who immediately assume I'm a creep, it makes no sense, especially for all the effort put in to them! Fun fact, Gardevoir's name means "to keep watch" in French and has the original Japanese name Sirknight, which was like a medieval call for help in a hue and cry.

lopunny is my favorite pokemon of all time as I just find it adorable and cute, I like the femininity of it, having expirence with it in battle usualy with the mega just made me appriciate it so much more as it is such a powerhouse. it's a shame how you get weird looks for evening mentioning this pokemons name now...

You know the 2nd part of your video reminds me too much of 2 memes floating around. Meme 1 includes a father coming to his son's room questioning the pokemon he has, which then shows the son in bed with a Machoke, an Incineroar, and a Rillaboom. The 2nd meme is of Leon being disappointed of seeing the team of the trainer he endorsed which includes a Gardevoir, Tsareena, Lopunny, Meowscarada, Ditto, and a white Vaporeon.

You missed a thing about Mega Ray: THE ONLY MEGA WITHOUT AN ITEM RESTRICTION.
Basically, Rayquaza needs to learn Dragon Ascent in order to get the ability to mega evolve, and I mean... how are you saying no? That move is literally a Flying type version of Close Combat!
So, on top of Mega Ray's already outrageous stats, it's also the only Mega Evolution able to hold items like Choice Scarf, Choice Band or Life Orb.

There's also the fact that Game Freak made it so that only Darkrai can actually use the move. Even if it pops up for Metronome, if it's not Darkrai using it, it'll fail.

Yeah, I think my species is the only case where their reputation could actually be defined as 'ruined'. Whereas nearly all of the other Pokemon have been subject to systemic internet corruption, so for them there wasn't so much a time where they were fully 'normal'. But Vaporeon was for the most part a completely innocent Pokemon up until 2020 onwards.
I feel really bad for my brothers and the people who love Vaporeons for their cuteness. They deserve better 💙

I think the reason Lucario gets the "furrybait" tag thrown on them is because of their dog like design and the most popular type of fursonas in the furry community are usually some kind of Canidae. (Dogs, wolfs, coyotes, foxes, etc.)
Gardevoir, Lopunny and Meowscarada are unfortunate because of their famine looking designs and the fact that there will always be horny people on the internet, meanwhile Vaporeon was sadly caught in the crosshair of a random 4Chan troll or degen who wanted to make a Shrek is Love Shrek is Life ripoff. (Don't look that up btw.)
But even if they have tainted reputations, don't let that stop you from enjoying them.

Developers of the game did make bad choices but I still like to walk with buddy pokémon.

I just feel bad for Hypno. I’ve seen art of Hypno getting abused and people were just cheering it on because of his online reputation. And I’m talking blood and all it was disturbing. Never before had I seen a pokemon get so much hate that people wanted to inflict real world harm onto it.

In my opinion i think Pachirisu was ruined by the internet too because some of the memes about that moment of the oficial tournament was exagerated,some people made memes about that like that pokemon is very powerful or a lifesaver but was really a "human" shield then anything but some memes misunderstood about that bieng like a clickbait.
Pokemon Emerald was my first Pokemon game (started this year), and it really shone a light on me on seeing Pokemon in a different way compared to just watching them on screen in anime like I used to as a kid. And I will say, it did help some of them to really grow on me.
And yes, that included Gardevoir. Found them as a Ralts, I was drawn to how it looked like a lost child and said "All right, I will care for it", and I did all the way to it becoming Gardevoir. From her Pokedex entry, to her ability to psychically one punch the opposition into the stratosphere, she (yes, she, my Gardevoir was female according to my Dex) became part of my A-Team very fast. It felt like really having a guardian angel that cared for my trainer on the team, it just felt special. I can imagine a bond between my trainer and his mons, and his starter especially, but Gardevoir seems to be a unique bond that I find unique to it that I find hard to describe but I find it very wholesome nonetheless.
Of course even shes not beating my favorite, the Blaziken, his super powered chicken thighs will kick anything into atoms. 10/10 monster right there.
Gardevoir was on my first team but as a kid, so I definitely get the wholesome bond aspect for sure!

As for "why do people find it attractive", remember this; Ivy from Valves latest game, Deadlock, is a rather ugly looking gargoyle. She's not conventionally attractive at all, and is clearly a monster. But right now she's the most fanarted (of all sorts) of all the characters because everyone was really drawn to her scrappy but friendly personality.
What I'm trying to say is, you never know who or what will go all out on fanart on what on the internet. You can never truly predict what's gonna happen out there. But hey, at least you can still find cool fanarts! Doomkemons animations are very fun

I can't really figuring out why it's the case ! Why him and not another one ? Is it because of his popularity (tbh, Gamefreak is aware of this, so he received EVERYTHING : a mega, a movie (that rocks, I agree 100%), a place in well known trainers team, marchandising... However, to put a grain of salt on what I said, I feel he's, sure... Doomed by the bad stuffs, but is hopefully blessed by an equally, if not greater amount of good things. Unlike Gardevoir, I can genuinely look for arts of him/her without having (too many) bad surprises. I found too many times amazing arts of him (playing with aura in those arts bring awesome colors and visuals imo).
For vaporeon, personally, I don't mind him too much. I think his design is on good side, with great balance of cutness/coolness.
NO, the reason I mention him is purely personal : One day someone told me they were sad about pokemon because she received harsh reactions for having vaporeon as favorite pokemon. I felt so much compassion for her, as I kinda experienced the same troubles with lucario, it marked me in the long run... And for those whose vaporeon is their favorite one : your eeveelution is cool, f_ck those copypastas, and YOU're cool !

As someone who's "Into" hypnosis, I avoid hypno like the plague just because of how ugly and weird it is. I also feel like Lucario could fall into both camps just because the clear favoritism Game Freak has showed it in the past, giving it a movie and dedicating an entire section of the game in Pokemon X and Y to its Mega form... actually, I could reasonably see pokemon who have had their reputation ruined by Game Freaks sheer favoritism towards them having their own category in this debate. Pokemon like Pikachu, Charizard, and Lucario could easily fall into this category.
