My favorite Splatoon ads were the Japanese ones for Splatoon 3 were people would be using real things and then they would show how those things were weapons in the game.
I loved your Gmod skits they’re getting so creative!!!! Pearl solos 100 bears with the princess cannon! If that thing can break what is the equivalent of Statue of Liberty than 100 bears have no chance
Nintendo try to market their all-ages game to all ages and make it accessible to new players challenge: (impossible) Seriously though, it's crazy how the trailers have evolved over time, it'd be really nice if they tried to appeal to a wider audience than just people who are already Splatoon fans with their ads, as I think that could really do wonders for both their sales numbers after launch and the longevity of the community.
1:07 I was not expecting to be called out so goddamn hard, this line threw me for a loop. Awesome video as always! Be cool to hear your thoughts on all of the update trailers throughout the years. (Also yayyyy my fanart got featured)

I honestly never understood the hate to the kid squid commercial. It gave me the same vibe as most other commercials at the time. (Looks at Smash 3ds/WiiU and Kirby Tripple Deluxe)
when i was younger and saw the splatoon 1 ads it actually made me NOT want to buy it lol. even as a pretty young kid the "YOURE A KID YOURE A SQUID" thing was obnoxious to me. (that and i didnt have a wii u lmao) but, when splatoon 2 came out i got it and really loved it and i've been a splatoon fan since. i feel like splatoon was done dirty with western ads in a way similar to but def not as bad as what happened with earthbound. if the ads for splat 1 wouldve had more gameplay and possibly some of the in game music i think i would've been a lot more interested and although i wouldn't have been able to get it at the time, little me would've probably looked online about it or something.
I know this is regional because it only came out for Japan. Though the Emperor gear trailer is SO good! The music and transitions are so cool. Mecha gear is also cool, Doom music and extra.
6:33 Deep Cut, Off the Hook, and Eight are not in the Squidbeak Splatoon, meaning that you’d only be left with Agent 4, Agent 3, Captain 3, Callie, and Marie
I don’t even remember why I got splatoon, like I don’t remember any of the commercials, well actually it might be because of the Best Buy demo that I just remembered now. Also for some reason i really liked splatoon at one point but barely played it until 2022
I thought more about the 100 bears vs every Splatoon agent more than I would like to admit. (I haven't played Side Order, so anything relating to that hasn't been considered.) Lets go over the basics first, the weapons: ...None of the weapons are going to do much of anything. Splatoon weapons are specifically meant for ink on ink combat. It's not going to do much to literal bears. Grizz's weak points were exclusively fuzzy ooze, so it's just more ink being shot at ink. For the sake of argument, though, let's assume that all of the weapons are like high powered paintball guns. Those can do a bit of damage. In that case, the only weapons I can see doing very much damage to a bear are the Blasters, Chargers, and Splatlings. Along with that, Brushes, Rollers, and Splatanas get a pass but not BECAUSE of their ink properties, but because they can be used like normal weapons to just hit the bears. First up, Blasters. Blasters fire a high powered ball of ink before it "blasts" as the name implies. While I can't imagine this doing much to a bear, it would definitely sting and deter a bear from approaching. The Chargers may have a better chance however. Out of the three listed weapons, Chargers are the only ones to consistently break the skin of a bear. It's a high powered blast of ink that instantly kills an inkling when fully charged (for most Chargers, that is). While inkling "skin" is in no way equal to the flesh of a bear, this at least proves some level of damage to a bear is possible with the Chargers. Splatlings are a similar case to Chargers. Splatlings, like Chargers, have to be charged to function. When they are charged, they fire a rain of ink bullets from each nozzle of the Splatling. While a single ink bullet won't do much to a bear, I would imagine a sustained fire on a bear would eventually tire it out. Then there's the melee weapons. These are self explanatory, especially for the Rollers. If you got hit over the head with a massive paint roller, it would hurt. The actual ink on any of these weapons isn't doing the heavy lifting here, it's the "big stick" part of the weapon. Of course, there's also sub-weapons. All of the explosive based subs are self explanatory. They explode, shooting out ink. The same argument regarding the Blasters applies here: Fast ink stings. Technically Toxic Mist can be used to "drown" the bears with airborne ink, but considering there's 100 bears this would take too long to be a valid strategy. Stick with any exploding sub for your bear-killing needs. And finally for weapons, we get to the most powerful category, the specials. Any exploding special is an obvious pick for the same reason that the Blasters and Ink Bombs are applicable. This includes Baller, Bomb Launcher/Rush, Booyah Bomb, Crab Tank, Ink Jet, Inkstrike, Triple Inkstrike, Inkzooka, Reefslider, Splashdown, Triple Splashdown, Super Chump, and Tenta Missiles. Killer Wail and 5.1, despite not being explosives, get honorable mentions here for their relation to the Princess Cannon, which does explode. (Bubble Blower and Ink Vac have been excluded due to the ease that bears would have avoiding their triggering conditions.) However, there are also non-explosive specials that would be useful against bears. Firstly, Ink Armor and Bubbler. They're self explanatory: They protect you from damage. Both of the Kraken specials give complete invulnerability as well, and appear to be somewhat sharp. I can't imagine they will do much to bears, but it might sting a bit. That same logic applies to the Stingray. The Stingray, while not doing much damage, does have one positive to it; it stings. A large number of bears can be shot at once using the Stingray, even if it may not do much. The Ultra Stamp, however, is probably the best special for bear-killing. It's the same as a Roller or Splatana: It's just a big stick. Bears can be crushed under the Ultra Stamp easily. (Honorable mention to the Tacticooler. It won’t do anything to the bears, but buffs are nice.) Finally, we can move onto the stars of the hypothetical: The Agents. First up, Captain Cuttlefish. He's an old man. I'm not entirely sure how he hasn't turned to dust yet. He won't do much, and if we're taking his post-Alterna form into account, he'll do even less. He will definitely be the first one eaten by the bears. Callie. Callie is never really seen DOING anything, much like Marie, so we don't have any concrete evidence of her capabilities. That being said, she does wield a Roller, making her a perfect candidate for bear-whacking. Marie. Like Callie, she never does anything on-screen. She does however wield a Charger, which as stated in the weapons section is a perfect weapon for the bears as a high powered stream of ink will definitely do some damage... if you ignore the finale of Splatoon 2's story mode where Callie is shot in the face with a Hero Charger and only receives minor damage. Sheldon. I'm not entirely sure if Sheldon counts, but he does assist the Agents regularly, so I would think he does. Without his man-in-the-chair position, he's pretty defenseless. If we imagine the Agents going into battle with only their most proficient weapon, I'm not even sure what Sheldon would show up with. Though when it comes to protecting HIMSELF from the bears, I would think it would take a while for a bear to get through his... hat... shell thing. Agent 3/Captain. The most capable Agent by far, at least in terms of physical abilities. Seen most notably destroying Tartar's blender with a kick alone along with shaving an entire island in seconds. They would definitely get overwhelmed by the sheer number of bears, though. Agent 4. There isn't much to say about Agent 4. Unlike Captain, they haven't appeared outside the Splatoon 2 Story Mode, so we aren't able to see any real feats from them. The most I can reasonably give them is the Rainmaker that they used against Octavio. Agent 8. Like Agent 4, Agent 8 isn't really seen outside of their own campaign, meaning that we can't say much about their power. Their limited access to endless specials during certain levels is definitely a bonus though, along with their own version of the Rainmaker. Neo Agent 3. Neo 3 doesn't have many feats (outside of surviving that massive drop in Octo Canyon), but they do have one major advantage, that being Smallfry. Of course, Smallfry on their own would get eaten instantly, they are a salmon, but with a loose interpretation of the lore and one magical song we can get Bigfry. Bigfry can easily destroy tons of bears... if they actually can fly. Their air-swimming at the end of the Story Mode may have just been the lack of gravity in space. Marina. Marina fulfills a similar man-in-the-chair role that Sheldon does, though with more emphasis on hacking. I'm not sure how she would go about hacking a bear, though. What will definitely be useful is her prototype Hyperbombs. These are just massive Suction Bombs, not much to say here. While her construction of the Shifty Stations may imply some other useful knowledge of hers, we simply don't know enough about the Shifty Stations to say. Pearl. Pearl uses Dualies, a weapon which is mostly useless against bears. That being said, she does have the incredibly powerful Princess Cannon, something that could take out hundreds of bears in a single shot... if they're lined up in the weapon's range. Other than the Princess Cannon, Pearl has no real way of taking down a bear. Frye. I'm not sure if Deepcut actually counts as members of Squidbeak, but Garden included them so I'll include them too. Frye has massive ink eels. I'm not sure how physical these ink eels are, but considering there are also fake versions of these eels, I would assume that the normal eels are fairly physical, meaning that they can just bite the bears. Shiver. Shiver can't do much on her own, but Master Mega is just a massive shark. I don't think I need to explain what a massive shark does. That being said, assuming that the battle is taking place on land, Master Mega would have to swim in Frye's eel-nado, which would remove many eels from the battle. Bigman. I mean, how does he even participate in Turf Wars? Do they just let him go all Mario-Sunshine on the enemy team? In any case, Bigman can only be forced out of his hiding place by ink, which bears do not have. Bigman alone could defeat 100 bears even if it would take a while. In summary: Yes, the Agents can beat 100 bears, even if it's mostly Deepcut doing it. I can't BELIEVE I spent an hour thinking about various weapons and their effects on bears only for Phantamanta to completely wipe out a hundred bears on his own. nah nah jk the bears actually call on their one million lion buddies and demolish the agents trust
@@Typi There are still only Callie, Marie, Agent 3, Agent 4, and Agent 8 against 100 bears. a 5vs100 doesnt look too promising for them but I guess it really just depends on what type of bear
Captain 3 single-handedly took on the whole Octarian army as well as DJ Octavio and won, Agent 4 did the same, and Agent 8 took down Captain 3, who (again) fought an army and won. Those three alone could fight 100 bears.

Your a kid your a squid in 2015 many people found it a cringe song but now it has become one of the most nostalgic of Splatoon lol
The agents would kick 100 bears ass EASILY, Agent 3 alone probably takes care of like, all of them. Now 1000 bears? this becomes interesting!
