Every time I see the ads of these terribly designed adverts for these WH40K games I die a little inside. All we want is a Remaster of the Original Dawn of War 1 series packed into one full game with added races, added campaigns and game modes from the original devs and the mod devs of Unification and Ultimate Apocalypse with a more up to date optimisation and graphic design.
More and more with the recent news of Warhammer of removing animations with their IP crap and these ads makes me embarrassed. I Have high hopes for Darktide though, that actually looks fun and well designed with a good dev team to back it up.
Everytime i see these ads i just pretend they aren't real.

I've always wanted an RPG game based on Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader by Fantasy Flight Games. There is so much wasted potential in warhammer games
they literally would not stop trying to get me to play this. so many sponsorship offers. even if GW wasn't total dogshit, I'd still not want to play this garbage.

The line "research new technologies" bothers me so much given that the imperium specifically opposes innovation. Its key to the themes of 40k, and that's what bothers me the most about the ads, is that there's no attempt to make a game true to the lore and appeal of 40k.
Yeah that part is really stupid. They are basically putting the ad over their own written lore.
Or that you increase recruitment speed by researching codex astartes.
Shoudnt be the oposite effect? After all in a crusade you can ignore the codex

Um... but the Imperium *does* innovate, though? Slowly and not across the board, but if they didn't, then the Primaris Marines never would've happened.
@@WaspCameraInSpringfield It's kind of the biggest problem people have with addition of Primaris Marines. All those years the best you could get were some weapon wariants. Now you get BETTER Marines, Agressor armor, inceptor armor, hover tanks, exo-suits... Its blatantly obvious that they just made some cool new miniatures and don't care about lore consistency. Don't get me wrong, I'm not some basement dweller who shrieks that a particulat kind of helmet shape goes agains the lore. But this is just too much. It's the repeat of the AoS fiasco - the Warhammer lore is way to detailed and complex to just disregard in in the name of rule of cool.

Ironically, Freeblade is what originally got me into 40k. I found it on a display iPad in Staples years ago, then got it on my phone because I enjoyed playing it. I stopped playing after awhile because I hit the “watch a bunch of ads or give us money to do things” wall. Ironic seeing as now I’m a few hundred dollars into the tabletop game so... good job Freeblade. Good long con.

For me it was scrolling trough appstore, I still play it tho. It's just a fun game while you kill your time, and it brought me to warhammer 40k and I like this universe.

I kept seeing ads for Lost Crusade after all of the fan animations started getting taken down. I was annoyed at the thought of Games Workshop tearing down well crafted fan creations (free advertising that actually made me interested in their IP), while spamming ads for cheap garbage that was just a reskinned cash grab.
Also... that Lost Crusade cinematic is so cheap. You got a Loreal Ultramarine who stabs his weapon into the floor of his drop ship, a Sister of Battle who flips and tricks more often than a skateboarder, cheap stock sound effects that make the already floaty/goofy animations feel even more comedic and eyeroll inducing, and then you have a Chaos Marine who has armor made out of what seems to be cardboard. I just... comparing that (and their newest edition trailer of the Table Top feat. Necrons vs Sisters of Battle) to Astartes or some of the Sodaz animations I've seen, it just makes it come off like they genuinely don't care about the quality/perception of 40k or Fantasy/AoS. It's a shame because they are such cool worlds, but Games Workshop just manage to disappoint and mismanage it.
Just saying, fan animations and some of the good games out there (Total War, Dawn of War 1 and 2, Vermintide, Hired Gun) all make me want to read up on the lore of these worlds. These Mobile Games along with their constant ads and god awful trailers just make me sad.

Warhammer Odyssey is a pretty standard mmo-lite tbh. I tried it after watching this vid and had none of the issues you had. Repairing wasn't an issue terribly often and I was expecting to struggle at the spider but organically outleveled it by the time I encountered it. I think it's more a matter of play style being the issue. Do agree it would be better suited for PC though, MMO style games on a phone are rough simply because they're typically longer play sessions, which doesn't fit "on the go" as well
I’m glad you had better success than me. Shame they just don’t make a new up to date pc version. Then again it has been said that GW have a few TRIPPLE a games in the works so we can only hope.

This is actually the first video whose 'intro' I've actually watched. I'm not even kidding, genuinely have skipped almost every one on TH-cam because I find most of them super cringe. This one was a brilliant little parody, set the tone very well. Video was great too, earned yourself my sub!

Aye. You get so much free stuff in it too, that there's no reason to spend money. It's a nice pocket game to have
true story, i mean its grindy and pretty random which cards you will get but they are working on it with stuff like the card shop where u can buy specific cards to suit ure needs. also logging in now and then keeps adding up in trms of ingame currency since they give out so much free shit through mission, ladder, free stuff, campaigns etc.
the only shit that annoys me is the pricing in the shop if u actually want to give them money. its beyond reasonable who the fuck pays that much - i mean cmon hundreds of euros just to get as much energy currency as you would get just by playing the game 15 mins each day for 2 weeks ...

@@cryothepunching-bag7917 Keep in mind that the franchise is in 40th millenium. The Horus Heresy is taking place way back in 30th, and is very well documented. This is an old-style brother-on-brother war. Even the late war is now being documented in the Siege of Terra novels.
There is, most certainly, some xenos influence, but it is as miniscule as the influencing xenos races themselves.

Legion is a surprisingly decent card game, gets a LOT of the flavor right. MY favorite part is how All the primarchs are in the game, and how they work properly. Curze is all about losing himself to his insanity and going stealth. Magnus can keep building magic or break after taking too much damage and going SUPER NOVA with his powers. It's not as randomized as say, Hearthstone, it has a decent meta. You can stay playing without paying, but it will take a good while to get all the cards from your Legion, quite feasible though. Also you can get it on Steam.
Yeah its an odd one in the "mobile warhammer games" bunch, starting with fact that its on Steam too. (it did start mobile tho). Its also technically Warhammer 30K game, which also means no Xenos (daemons aplenty tho!). While Xenos Wouldnt fit the lore honestly (they are irrelevant to Horus Heresy) theres hope for Orks! (Ullanor anyone? There even is already card "triumph of ullanor"). Maybe one day?
Getting all cards for legion is hard, but most is not that hard if you do daily missioona and save gems for shop. True, all primarchs are in the game, but they also have other things, such as knight houses, defenders of caliban, sisters of silence and mentioned daemons.
The games can be randomized (few cards can give you random cards, with "crucial choice" and Khal Zulaine being biggest offenders), but what i notice is that they always make smart balance changes. Every time i think "this is too OP" they nerf it while buffing what seems weak.
Shame game has like next to 0 ads (no, not ingame ads, which thankfully doesnt exist. I mean ads for a game). I only saw a few when they added last primarch to the game - Rogal Dorn.

So:
I have played it for a few months.
For a (short) time period i was the 12th strongest player in our sector.
I quit the game.
Reason: yes, it is fun at first. and the model design is very appealing.
and at first it does not seem to be pay to win.
but oh boy.
once your battle barge is roughly around lvl 25 stuff gets real.
because:
no matter how strong you and your alliance are,
as long as you are not the so called 'whales',
which reserve the top 3 spots,
you WILL get F#€ked!
our alliance was the third strongest,
yet 1 (yes 1!!!) single player wiped out all 65 members of our alliance.
all by himself.
and the rest got wrecked by the smaller people trying for easy pickings.
And once that happens,
you get to experience the WEEKS of grind
to just get back to your former strenght.
during which you basically cant partake in any raids or other missions.
Now imagine this happen to you and your friends
over and over and over again.
and popping a protective shield might become tempting, yes.
but they cost real money.
so.
back to our grind.
man, this sucks.
every day for weeks on end spending so much time
just to keep watch over your ressource collection and building troops.
BUT: you can just BUY your army back.
now wouldnt that be tempting? ;)
that is the point of this game.
spend money to skip.
you can buy your army back.
and also, if you are really stupid with your money,
become the strongest in the sector and make other people miserable.
top notch 10/10 pay to win
Only other good thing about this game is
that there are some really awesome people playing it.
My alliance members were all awesome.
unfortunately due to those problems most of us left at one point or another...
PS: just for clarification. yes i spent some money on it.
I bought one upgrade that is basically a necessity (additional building queue).
Also purchased 1 or 2 additional packs .
which still makes me feel disgusted with myself :P
I gave it a try but dropped it that very day. Its one of those games that isnt really good but its addicting and it was obvius it just wanted your money.

and about 5-10 of our players (including me) were top 20 in the sector.
one of them i think was 6th (i think).
yet the number 2 player wiped all of us out.
and after him came the swarm of smaller players destroying us utterly.
at which point i fell from #12 all the way down to about #180.
after this, you either pay to get everything back for a frick ton of money,
or grind for multiple weeks for hours every day to get back to your former strength.
the first time it happened, i could handle it.
second time: FUCK. but okay... i guess.
but by about the fifth time, i about had it.
WEEKS of rebuild grind every time.
i heard the argument before of:
just pop a shield during Kill Event (PvP).
and yes. for a lower to mid level player this works.
but as your level rises,
the less you have of them.
and you will be targeted much more often by the 'whales'.
also the alliance store (non real money store) is almost always out of them.
so unless you want to pay for them -
i think each was 50cent,
but might be completely wrong though
- you will be sh#t out of luck
so about balance:
when i left, i actually stayed for a few weeks longer so i could be at full strength for PvP.
i wanted to go out with a bang so to say, and to support my brothers.
my last action in the game was to suicide charge into one of those whales.
my attack killed ALL of my troops as intended.
but you know how many of his units died?
not 1.
not a single unit.
i think i wounded maybe 80 of his (i think) 3000 dreads.
which is basically clicking on your apothecarian and waiting for a few seconds...
and an apothecarian can hold about a million or so troops at his level (again maybe totally wrong numbers).
I can confirm. I was in the top 30 alliance (now disbanded) who were mostly free to play on Server 1. Let me tell you, YOU CANNOT REACH TOP 10 WITHOUT 3/4 OF YOUR MEMBERS SPENDING TONS OF MONEY.
"Pay to Win" is not pvp exclusive. If you're paying money, and getting gear, stats, or buffs (anything that affects your character) it is pay to win. Be it pve, or pvp, your character benefits from spending cash.
"If your game has six different currencies, you know it's going to be problematic."
Stellaris players: *sweating profusely*

The way u mentioned Lost Crusade in that way on your last video ending is big brain.
the only good one is Horus heresy legions, it has some balancing issues but you can make a lot of fun without spending money, you need to grind a bit but its better than Hearthstone since the "arena" tickets come inside lootboxes and there's rewards for being in a lodge and grinding events with the rest of the lodge, and the amount of playable factions is nice
I personally just play my favorite legion and play practice to 'farm' the new campaign mission things are decently fun to play on the bus or while waiting. But fuck world eaters stop spamming face attacks and play a minion for once.
@@OlrikMeister world eaters are brain dead, i had angron and with him i climbed ranked super easy and was beating quality decks by just bashing then in the face
Its such a shame, the trailer is epic and the artists and animators that worked on it should be proud, its upsetting to see it wasted on this shite. Additionally, the in game models, animations, and effects, are also quite great, but the design and mechanics around that brilliant art is a travesty.
I have a few mobile games I’d like to make with the GW license lol

About dwarfs sentry gun is actually a old dwarf technology used to fight against elves and demons but during the goblin wars and the skaven wars they became impossible to mas produce but you can create them but unless you are a chad dwarf engenier you might have to pay for them just like mobile games so most dwarfs have girocopters and custom made sentry guns so is kinda rare if you ask the fluff

It's just one continuous run on sentence filled with multiple spelling errors and no cohesive structure or breaks in chain of thought. It's genuinely hard to read and understand when you type out a constant slurry of words with no punctuation or structure to them at all.
If you don't agree then try reading your entire paragraph out loud and take notes of any breaks or pauses you subconsciously make, and then replace those with a period or comma and read it again.
(Also, how do people still mistype words in this day and age when there's autocorrect on mobile and the little red squiggly underline on desktop? It's kind of hard to miss.)

Yes LAD! I still play evolve regularly with some pros, there's other discords than are more friendly to new players who still play legacy. Me and grizzle would of loved to carry on doing evolve but sadly 2k pulled the plug.

I had (and still have) a lot of fun with Freeblade over the years. There is some P2W in multiplayer, but you can completely ignore the game mode like I do without missing anything, since it is pretty shitty designed to begin with and the rewards are more or less useless for the PvE part.

Same. I remember getting a lot of legendary gear without even trying. Never even felt I had to spend money once. Overall it was one of the better mobages out there. A pity my save game got deleted about 5 missions before the campaign end....

I’m so happy you enjoyed Horus Heresy: Legions.
The game can be kinda snow bally and there’s a lot of hard counters, but despite all the problems it’s a varied fun game with plenty of nail clutching victories and soul crushing defeats.
The balance is pretty good and the devs are fairly quick to nerf degenerate metas, usually. I’m looking at you Khorn’s favor + Garro/Cypher.
Edit: Khorn’s favor got nerfed. All is well.

Have been playing Horus heresy legions for about a year. Have never once spent money on it. I have 30-40 different decks and like 9 primarchs. The game is absolutely not pay to win as you can get most of your preferred factions card just by doing the daily missions and challenges. It’s the best war hammer mobile game currently available and I recommend playing it. Plus it’s always funny when sanguinius suddenly turns into an alpha legionnaire.
I actually want to keep playing it but after this video I need a break from phone games.

By my standard the best mobile game is *Wild Rift*, because it's a port of League of Legends contained in 20 minutes or so.
Literally the best mobiles games are ports from the PC, preferably the ones you just buy. Shelling out $5-10 for Terraria or Stardew Valley results in way more fun than cashgrabs ever could.

Oh, and the dwarf sentry turrets? Basically not a thing beforehand. They had cannons, things that were like the ancient Chinese rocket launchers, mangonels and gyrocopters, but nothing like the things seen here, as far as I remember.

Freeblade is pretty cool. i finished the campaign and do multiplayer duels once in a while. took like a year but could have been much faster. i bet you can finish the campaign in 2 or 3 months if you hurry up
After i was paying some euros i got the Freeblade and end the campaign . I Play it since 2 days
I played that game a long time ago and was pleasantly surprised! It's definitely not like the other trashy mobile games you'll find on google play.
