I am wondering if it’s possible to plan a route and a workout and run them at the same time on Garmin Edge, so you could train following a predefined course. Have you tried it?
When you synced your training plan with your Garmin device, go to Training - Training plan - select the workout day. At the bottom left you'll find "Find route", click on the route you like and the workout will take place along this route. :) Hope it's what you were looking for.
Enjoying using the outdoor training feature but can you change the screen to include HR for example? ...Also, if you are on another screen and are outside of the power range the unit beeps can this be stopped ?
If you stay on the screen where you can see the zones then it will not beep. If you're on another screen it will beep. But of course you can turn the tones off completely.
@@ClintGibbs Thanks ...but it brings up a 'banner' so you cannot see the numbers at the bottom of the screen ....it would be so much easier if you could add fields to the workout screen ?
Not to be a broken record but I can’t wait for the new transition sentinel first ride review. Ordered mine and I’m patiently waiting. A review would really help me be patient 😂...
Hey Clint, thanks for sharing, very useful video, actually what I was looking for how to let the Garmin edge 520 to display the text that I've put for my indoor cycling workout (Seated/Standing positions). Any idea?
Nice video but what i miss is a workout where your bike computer tells your smarttrainer which power zone to hold on. That's programmable in your workout with "target type" set to "custom power".
Is it possible to ride a course and do a traing plan at the same time. When I do a training I can find a course, but when I start that course my trainplan/workout screen isn't present anymore. Somebody have an idea what I am missing?
It's a shame "Grade" can't be one of the options - since it _can_ be set elsewhere in the menu when doing indoor trainer rides. Choosing Watts won't work for me because I use such a low gear and go so slow it confuses the Garmin (or the Wahoo Kickr) and it doesn't keep the resistance at a set level. Setting a Grade does keep it at a set resistance but Grade isn't an option when creating a workout. 🤔
They've changed the interface and this was still super helpful. Thank you! Really helpful.
Clint, I always find your vids very informative and helpful! Thanks!
This is such a helpful, easy to follow video. Thanks!
*If you wanna do a day long interval go for it* got me haha😅 . Thanks for this tutorial
That was very helpful Clint!
Thank you for sharing. I'm about to hit some intervals on Edge 840
Thanks for the video. I just started using a 530 and found this information helpful.
Another great informative video thanks for posting I was wanting to use this feature and never got around to it
Can’t wait for the new bike review!
perfect instructions and sequence of programing, Thanks.

I haven't used the Garmin yet in that way. Sorry. If I do I will try to post a video.

This is really helpful! Just wondering if you sync a smart trainer to the garmin, will the workout run on erg mode?
I have not done that yet

Nice video! Do you reckon this will work with an edge 130 plus?
I have not tried it on the 130 but I tend to think it would work
Thank you so much
Thank you!
"If you want to do a day long interval go for it "😂😂😂
Good info but the screen shot for computer is out of focus and you talk so fast it's hard to keep up.
Garmin is the best bike computer.
Aggreeeeeeeeee
100%
I don’t think the EDGE 130 has this feature
I've never used the 130. Thanks.
I think it has this feature on the 130+.
