Finally! So nice to see how to use the navigation as a round trip route on an 830! Very helpful!

Certainly the best video about Garmin 830 routing I've seen. Congratulations!

Hi. I can't seem to find information about a following issue. I am thinking between the Wahoo Bolt V2 and Garmin 830. With the Wahoo it is all clear, since I have the V1. But I don't know if the following is possible with the Edge 830.
Lets say I am navigating with a pre-loaded course onto 830. But half way through I decide to change the route, and need to get off the planned (course) track to get to one place. As I have read, I cannot upload new courses to 530/830 from a phone/app while an activity is in progress. But what if I select an address/POI or even a point on a map during an activity and selected course already? Will this work? Won't the current activity stop/end ?? Thnx

Is this the same for the edge 530?

I know it's not a new device and I have a Garmin Fenix 7 watch myself. I have two questions:
    1) can you just navigate without having to start the activity recording? (on watches you can)
    2) if you have an A-B route, can you just click on the map (or search, it does not matter) and add it as a waypoint? On the Edge Explore these have not been available or I haven't checked.
I am trying to replace my phone to navigate with the Edge, even though I have a fenix. Everything else is just so much better on a phone, but the Edge is soo compact, weather resistant (especially phones turn to low mode when too hot) etc etc. I also hate you cannot just rotate the map by pinching, as far as I understand you have change course up or north up by having to go to the menu, which is suuuper annoying.
    Cheers

I am brand new to buy computers. I am just simply trying to find a tutorial that tells a newbie how to turn on the device in record the route that you ride and provide stats. Do you have such a video? Every video I find assumes that somebody has been using and came out of the womb using a Garman bike computer

Does the off route calculation actually look to bring you back on course and continue your original route or will it recalculate its own route to your destination?

Any way to obtain an easy tutorial on how to upload rout from ride with GPS to a new GARMIN device?

Eric Klett don’t know if you still need this but check out the new Garmin Route API there is a good video from DC Rainmaker. After setup you now just pin a route in Ride With GPS and it will sync to Garmin Connect and from there to your device.

I have turn on avoidance for interstate highways, major highways and toll roads, my Edge 830 still brings me to highways constantly! I resort to Google maps on my phone.

Firstly, to manage expectations, it takes a few minutes to search - and at the end said it couldn't find anything - I had it set up as per this video. So from my starting point in Birmingham there are no 15 mile round trips starting at a named street and in any direction. Really????

Good video. Thank you. Can you or anyone tell me... In my area there is a road that parallels a major highway; such that it gets very busy too. I want to avoid that road as well, but am always taken on it; yet between 2 points there are many other backroads. Is that possible?

Hello sir, great videos on the 830. Do you know the best way to use the back to start feature? or, could you make a video about it? I ride a lot of unmarked forest roads and would find this feature useful when I lose my bearing. Thank you for putting in the time and effort for your videos.

Hi recerx6 - glad you like the videos. Sadly the 830 was a media loan which i've since returned and miss as it is probably the best all round cycle GPS on the market atm imho.
