- Eating at the Highest Rated Filipino Restaurant in San Diego!
If you are looking for the best Filipino restaurants in San Diego, then this is your food tour! Rockstar Eater visits Kusina, which is a fairly new Filipino eatery in San Diego, CA that specializes in Filipino food, and also some Hawaiian food. Kusina is Yelp's highest rated Filipino restaurant in San Diego, which makes it a must-try spot. This restaurant serves many Filipino food classics like crispy pata, pork sisig, and palabok, along with Hawaiian dishes like loco moco and garlic shrimp. It is also great for dine-in, takeout, catering, and special events.
If you love Filipino cuisine, then this an Asian restaurant you shouldn't miss in San Diego.

What is your favorite Filipino food?
Thanks for watching! Please also click THANKS to support this channel!
Kare kare and laing and longanisa and dinuguan and palabok. Just fresh grilled corn, BBQ, Jollibee style sweet spaghetti. Comfort foods. :)
Bicol Express
I have no idea but I'd like to find out. 😋
Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
My favorite is my mom's Lengua Estofado.
You're supposed to mix a bit of shrimp pasta/(bagoong) with Kare-Kare.
LV to Miramar here we come! Thanx Steve for the tip👍
Love it. Have heard about Spot right in my backyard!! Will be definitely going now😁
Thanks Steve! That was something special. We don't eat food from the Philippines very often, but these dishes looked appealing and we'll put it on the must try list!🍛
Hope you like it
All the food looked DELICIOUS. The one I'm after is the Garlic Shrimp. 😋
Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
That is definitely next level Filipino cuisine. I have mostly been to the point-point cafeteria style or grilled meat on a skewer. Never anything so fancy. Next time in San Diego, I will have to give it a try.
Sounds great!
Love your channel!
My favorite that I always cooked are kare-kare, pork, beef, shrimp sinigang, mechado and pancit palabok.

I have to swing by that place. Glad you enjoyed the food
Thanks Steve! Love your channel. You should check out Spicy City in Kearney Mesa. Food is amazing if you like Szechuan.
Mmmmm.... TASTY!!!! Thanks Steve!!!!
I also like sisig , and any coconut based dish with added spice since i like spicy food and it goes well with those.
Great video!!
Much appreciated
Palabok and sisig! Delish!
Lol the highest rated, most reviewed, and most authentic filipino restaurant in San Diego/National City is Tita's Kitchenette. There's usually a line of people out the door. Has been in San Diego for more than 30 years. You should definitely try it out ❤
I have not been to Kusina but hope to check it out. However, Tita's is AWESOME and close to home for us. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the South Bay area.
The highest rated is actually Carin De Ria in Del Mar.
Kusina is ‘highly rated’ but that building has been at least three different Filipino restaurants in the past 3-4 years - and at one time a Nashville hot chicken joint. Tita’s is hands down the most famous and well known but it’s also very working class and they are notoriously anti-TH-camr/influencer, so you won’t see many people doing videos there.
@@marksescon I love working class and I loathe "influencers" so Tita's works for me!
At Tita’s food is already made and you just point to what you want. This is a sit down and order type of restaurant.
When we went to Titas it wasn't so good to eat, not clean floors, chairs not recommended to foreigners but foods are good am fr Ontario CA
Love the garlic shrimps. Oxtail and the pork.❤❤👍👍
Sounds good
Yum ! Definitely need to check that place out . My favorite Filipino food is Dinuguan …aka “ chocolate meat “ because of the color. Have you tried it ?
My Favourites are spicy pork binagoongan and pork adobo 😍
I miss San Diego! You should visit Donut Bar SD - they have the yummiest and humongous donuts ever. The nutella donut is filled with a lb of nutella lolz. Go early coz they always sell out.
Thanks for the tips!
the pork foot still had the hair on it. yipes, but i love your videos and still watching this one. 😊
Great video sir. Adobo is still #1
Here’s the way to eat kare kare to get the full experience. You put rice on the plate, bagoong on the side, sauce all over, meat and veg one perfectly assembled bite at a time with just a touch of bagoong to flavor it. Thanks for highlighting Filipino food!
Shrimp paste (bagoong) for the kare kare
@rockstareater can you try Lasita in Chinatown LA, also kuya Lord off melrose
I wish they were in LA😢 … I love Filipino food 😘!
there’s a lot of Filipinos in San Diego so this must be good, gonna try it out
Hope you like it
Hurray for your channel covering Filipino food! You need to follow up with Goldilocks and Red Ribbon for dessert.
Sounds good!

Is that hair on the crispy pork that I saw?
Sure is
Steve, go to Phil's BBQ
Try Villa Manila in National City, it’s more traditional Filipino food, no fusion.
Lol, hair on the Crispy pata
Needs a good shave
Hairy crispy pork
First

Will dah... Your in Manilamesa.. Steve did you happen to see any dogs nearby?? 🐶 🐶
YOU'RE MAKING ME HUNGRY. . . . remember your don't have to chew your food to swallow it. . .. LUV DINUGUAN. . .
PalaboK with a K at the end.. you're saying "pala boH" lol
I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life and never seen or been to a Filipino restaurant.
Probably cus u live and stay in the white part of town.
@@pjt8919 lol my community is 45% Asian. You have no idea…
When you come back to visit, there are many Pilipino options. I love it. My wife and son don't even want to look at the stuffed squid that I bring home. Different strokes.
@@Warzonegaming187 and where is this?
@@pjt8919 Carmel Valley.
Do Filipinos use chopsticks 🥢??
In Filipino culture, we eat with spoon and fork with our meals
Mmmmmmm. I'm ilocano in Cali and I think that crispy Pata is not good....1st it needs a good shave it's hairy! Eeeeeee
crispy pata needs to be clean all the hair are still there KUSINA PLEASE CLEAN YOUR CRISPY PATA !!!! Thank you ROCKSTAR EATER
I can see clearly the hair. Should have been cleaned well..
You like filipino food alot dont you?
@3:10 no offense but that much hair or fur on my pork skin would not help my appetite
Not impressed and where are my calamansi? 🫣
Went here twice but was disappointed. Food was average. The sinigang was not good and the adobo lacks flavors. Tita's is the best.
Dam …looks good
