I used to work here for about 8 months. I can say that the kitchen was pretty clean and the staff did a decent job keeping all hygienic as opposed to other restaurants. Lobster claws are the best quality! I actually ate my lunch there often and they would sell the claws wholesale to the employees. Good value for the money. The manager featured at the end of the video hired me and he is awesome!!!
This location used to be Todai Buffet before this restaurant group closed. They were the OG of sushi/seafood buffet for Koreans & Korean-Americans in LA/OC.
I have lived in San Diego county for 60 years and haven't heard of this place. Everything looks delicious. I will definitely have to try them. Thanks for sharing your review.
Normally sushi doesn't look great at any buffet restaurants but this one looks great. I will definitely come to this place on Thursday for the Lobster!
So I attempted to go to this buffet a few weeks ago while in SD on business. It was packed! 15 min wait to get in. While we were waiting inside, I noticed a line of people just waiting inside the buffet area for lobster to come out. There was no lobster ready! I wasn't about to spend $55 to wait in line each time I wanted a half lobster. Not one to be a part of the herd, I left. Not worth it imo. The following week, Ranch 99 had lobster on sale for $9lb. I purchased 5 for $61. I grabbed some sourdough from the market, cooked my lobster, cracked open a bottle of chardonnay & my spouse & I had a feast of better cooked lobster & fresh sourdough garlic bread, all for less money than this buffet would have been for 2 people.
I tried it once after watching your video. I have to agree with some of the comments about the lobster being too inconvenient to get one halved tail at a time so I suggest the management dole out two lobster tickets for every paying customer so that they can start off with two lobsters tails initially and go one tail at a time thereafter. I ended up staying there longer than I wanted by having to get one lobster tail every 30 min. Wouldn’t the ownership want customers to leave sooner so that more paying customers can be seated per night? The lobster tails were surprisingly baked with Old Bay seasoning mix not what I consider Asian but at least it wasn’t globs of disgusting flavor killing mayonnaise. Other than the long drawn out inconvenience of getting one lobster tail every 30 minutes, the other items were decent to good - raw oysters, snow crab legs, lobster claws, and the best self-serve island sushi. These days the Korean made three round/2 hour, made to order AYCE sushi is the most popular but the island self-serve sushi was better than average.
Similar to Vegas buffet. It’s actually a hardcore tourist trap, which makes this video extra disappointing because Steve has been great with hitting up lesser known spots.
How I would love to be there to be able to enjoy that Wonderful Buffet of all types of seafood right up my alley I tell you makes my mouth water enjoy it for me.. LOL
Out of ALL of the AYCE bloggers this is the first time someone ate at 100’s I’ve been mentioning it… You need to go to New York City and eat at “Crab House All You Can Eat Seafood” 135 E 55th st, New York City All you can eat lobster 🦞 yes they have salt and pepper fried lobster but they also have it garlic steamed lobster. They have pan sizzling jumbo scallops, Dungeness crab legs, they have blue crabs, and etc. $110 for AYCE.
I remember going here when it first opened up. The lobster and crab that time was very salty, so I couldn’t eat too much of it. I guess I’ll have to give this spot another shot. It seems like the food quality has gotten better than the time I went. I’ll definitely try this spot out again.
No matter what Chinese buffet you go to, the servers & cooks usually never smile, the ones that do smile are the cashiers, and or servers that collect your bill and tips!
Hey loved the video! Btw do you know any buffets in LA that are still doing crab legs? And do you know any other buffets that are doing lobsters in LA too?
@@RockstarEater Thanks for the info. One of my favorite places is Saigon Dish. I've actually brought several people there. They love it too. Great job. Love your videos!😀
Not coming back here. We have waited 1.5 hours and as soon as we get in, there is another long line i notice for the lobster. I stayed in line 15 minutes to get HALF of the lobster. You can only eat here 1hour and a half so when i ate here i just end up eating 1 whole lobster since i waited in the line only twice. They serve the lobster every 15 minutes. Never again im going back. $55 for ages 5 years and up. Ridiculous price.
You'll have to excuse me. When I see you're at a AYCE lobster buffet, the first thing I do before watching it is to see if its in my budget. Yes it is, $54.95. Very reasonable. Back to the video! (looks like you missed Little Italy, maybe next time).
"One lobster per turn" killed the whole all-you-can eat lobster vibe for me. That's just one way to shame people by making them have to get up every time they want another lobster. I know most of us don't care what others think when they see us get up multiple times, but this has to have the intent of making people eat less lobsters than they would if they could just grab as many as they want and can eat in one plate. That's unfortunate cause other than "don't grab more than you can eat/don't waste food" that I totally agree on I should grab as much as what I want and if lobsters is all I want then I should be allowed to get as many as want right of the bat.
@@RockstarEater maybe, I swear it was a Thursday they had everything there but lobster. i might go check it out tomorrow to see if there is lobster still
Honestly that exact location seemed sketch when my family visited … we felt weird after 10min - we speculate they use high amounts of msg and something else to make us fill faster… They had a huge variety of veggies, protein and dessert… we eat at Buffetts a lot… and that experience at 1000s in SD put us off …
The universal Hilton in Los Angeles has a great seafood buffet Friday and Saturday night all the lobster you can eat $85 for adults $35 for kids it’s another really good Buffay out here
This place is trash. Not worth the price. You get one tiny piece of lobster tail and will wait another 30 minutes in line for another one. Don't eat the cold seafood most the time it's bad and will get you sick. The sushi is alright. I have had better at cheaper places. The hot food isn't always hot. The only good thing here Is the make your own poke bowl. That's about it

That's what I thought. I remember going to Todai years ago. Nice back then.
I used to go to a buffet called todai in the bay area, wonder if it's the same group and if they're closed now. 🤔
used to LOVE the Todai Buffet
This used to be a todai years ago but 100s is solid a lil up there in price especially on lobster tail day
