As puertorican man, I have to let you Filipinos know, I love your food just as much as our own. It’s similar in which we eat rice with everything, but your dishes are so saucy and delicious. I’m could eat Filipino food every day.
give this man a passport he is now officially our cousin and invite him to the birthday party.
Always best-partnered with rice. Rice balances everything.
I think that buffet is cheap because its style is what we call karinderya or like a canteen. Not in a fancy place and usually not run by professional chefs (which makes the prices ridiculously high) but family-owned hole-in-the-wall restaurants with homemade cooking which just tastes as good if not better, imo. Glad you're supporting such businesses.
What I loved about Manila Kantina (besides the food, the staff and the prices) is just how wonderful the little Filipino bodega is surrounded by Miami bougie places and they couldn't care less. They're serving great food on foam plates with plastic utensils. And they'll make many people happy for years to come.
That 12 dollar Filipino buffet is seriously a good deal price wise and selection wise. A usual 2 item combo will cost you 12-15bucks nowadays
Pork ribs sinigang is my favorite Filipino comfort food. I eat it with rice and fish sauce. I can eat eat as breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can eat eat it as my afternoon snack. I can eat it everyday, I swear. 🥰
I'd really like to thank you for highlighting and actually enjoying Filipino cuisine. Salamat!

Oh man I actually would go to a Filipino buffet for $14 right in Ft Lauderdale. THE BEST FILIPINO FOOD EVER. Everything was SO fresh and they always had a really nice assortment of foods! It's really a hole-in-the-wall kind of spot but they keep everything clean and fresh and it's one of my favorite places to go ever. It's called Filipino Kitchen by Grace and I recommend it if you're ever in Ft. Lauderdale!
The filipino civeche is one of my faves specially the sinuglaw with crunchy pork barbecue, cucumber, vinegar, fish, umami, coconut milk, ginger, chilis, peppers, onions and sometimes sea weeds ..
There's a great Filipino all you can eat buffet in Chicago. They even had lechon and kare-kare! Can't remember the name, passed through about 8 years ago and unlikely to return. But that restaurant was unforgettable
I went to Le Tub in August of 2022, the burger we got looked nothing like what mike got, Rate it 6.5/10, also got the pound of shrimp fresh cajun style, was good and not too expensive (24$-28$) 7.5/10, the vibe was bad, 2/10, was rushed to eat with other people standing over you waiting for you to be done, they didn't do reservations, it was all seat yourself. good luck getting in with more than 4 to a group, this was also during summer so take it with a grain of salt. wouldn't recommend going spring break through October. Also uber there, parking lot is cramped with a total of 15 cars. and the traffic was terrible. Spent about 104 dollars for 2 people including 18$ tip.
Bro
Grew up and graduated high school in Hollywood, FL in 1978. Moved away for school and returned in the mid '80s for about a decade Apparently 1978 is the year Le Tub opened. I didn't know of them when I initially left, but they were definitely a local hang out when I returned.
As a Filipina, thank you for supporting Filipino small businesses! 😊
You know filipino food so well. You know what to look for each dishes that makes them good.
He went to ph around 2018
He went to ph around 2018
That Filipino buffet makes me think of Christmas parties with family. 🥰
It looks like the Mondo burger from Good Burger
it looks like a job for Pepto-Bismol. that is nothing but diarrhea later.
@@liamjohnson2474 XD
Hahahahahahaha yeah yeah
I'm one-hundred-percent going to need that burger done more.
Same here
Looked like straight blood and grease 😂
Hard core agree.
Food Poisoning Challenge 2023 (Novice)
I’m a medium rare or even rare guy with steaks but I agree. When ya grind the meat up, the outside is inside.
I’m not a germaphobe but that’s straight up nasty how rare that thing is. Guarantee some of those inside pieces didn’t get any heat
Mark and now Mike showing Filipino food some love. :)
Love how you enjoy Filipino food 🇵🇭❤️
Beef dinuguan (10:00) reminds me a lot of arroz cabidela in Portuguese cuisine. Its rooster or chicken (instead of beef), and the rice is cooked alongside with the blood and vinegar, so it has an almost risotto feel. So damn good.
99% of filipino food are actually rice bowl dishes, formulated to be eaten with rice so that you get the perfect flavor balance. Something that up to now is still lost to a lot of youtube food vloggers. Think of people eating sandwiches and removing the bread.
This
Then there are those that try chickenjoy 🍗 but fail to pair it with plain rice and coke. It's downright blasphemy!
@@alice_agogo lol
@@alice_agogo im filipino and eat chickenjoy by itself lol
Damn right
Yesss dinuguan with lots of rice is the best. So satisfying.
I love filipino food, we don’t have a filipino buffet around here but if we did I’m almost certain I would eat myself into a food coma and regret nothing!
Love you Mike! That Miami Lobster at Itamae looks rockin'! You rock! Thank you soooooo much!
Oddly enough we had a short lived but delicious Filipino buffet where we live, city of around 22,000 people 13 hours northeast of Vancouver, BC. Was so sad when it went out of business. We do have a great place now with a very talented Filipino chef though. 😊
That is a great selection for the buffet! Quite a bit of dishes. Now I'm hungry
All you can eat $12 Filipino buffet? Whoa! A plate lunch of 2 scoops rice and chicken adobo is $11 here in Hawaii!
Touristy prices in Hawaii.
You can $2 buffet too but those might give you diarrhea after.
I love how this little kantina has a Jollibee pic in the background 8:05
i would choose the $12 filipino buffet than the $14 burger anyday
Amazing. Thank you for these videos.
We have a local place that has kudzu ice cream and muscadine ice cream. It is amazing. Very subtle flavors.
I live in Shreveport Louisiana and we have a Filipino grocery store that serves lunch to dine in. I love it! Pancit is one of my favorites.
going to a buffet an hour before closing is quite the risky move
Facts
Even tho I like Mike, this has to be all fluff. Leftover buffet food that you rave about lol, come on.
Most of the food in the Filipino buffet are cooked in sauces or soups, which helps it not dry out. In fact, plenty of Filipino stews and viands cooked in sauces taste better left overnight in the fridge.
@@TeabagDeluxe noticed this, and the vinegar will keep it from spoiling
Need more ingredients in the burger and less burger 😂
Didn't think he would find/eat Dinuguan. Not all Filipino restaurants serve it. But it's my FAVE! I love ordering it in Filipino restaurants (when available) because I'm a 6'2" half Filipino that looks like a tall white dude (I look like my father as opposed to my Filipino mother) & waitresses consistently ask me if I know what Dinuguan. When I tell them, "Yes, it's chocolate blood" they get this amazed look. My grandfather (from Illocos Sur) made Dinuguan from scratch (killed the pig or goat and all). My absolute favorite.
That is one huge burder wowzer. Thanks for another great video!
Burgers and Sisig and everything Nice😀👍
I have a theory... I think when Mike eats food simultaneously with rice, he is enjoying it 100%.
Heto na. Pagalingan ng comment!!! 😂
You've tried Manam and lots of different Filipino food available. Looks like you are ready to try Locavore in the Philippines. It's like Manam with a twist.
That burger looked like a chocolate covered strawberry 🍓
🤣🤣🤣
I love Le Tub burgers. The place is an institution. I can't wait to try the Filipino Buffet. BTW Mister 01 Pizza is a must try and IMPO better than Slice. Love from Miami ❤️🌞
At 5:20 when he splts the burger in two, on our right, which is Mickey's left, you'll notice the burger smiling at you. You see two eyes and a smile, and faintly a nose. No, I'm not on any substance.
I saw it.
That burger was still grazing the fields.
Look at the colour of your AG1!!! Soylent Green!
If i order AG1 through your link is it a little cheaper than going to the main site to order it
Hey Mike.. The meals look so delicious 🤤 The 🦞 look amazing and juicy.. Be safe. Enjoy.. ❤️🐞
I would love this. Filipino food is expensive where I’m at (in Canada).
That burger and bloody bun seemed straight out of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. I can see him screaming to the poor chef: “IT’S RAWWW. DO YOU WANT TO KILL SOMEONE!!!” Wish Mikey had said something about it. It was too obvious to ignore.
My dude, he prefers that type of burger... Medium rare is fine.
He isnt trying to eat a shoe.
It isnt blood it is a protein called myoglobin although I also don't like medium burgers tbh
That's how Gordon makes his burgers..
I have been to Hollywood Florida because I use to live in North Fortmeyers and my wife's uncle use to live in Hollywood Florida, but I have never been to those places. now I wish I was still in the area. I moved back to Indiana.
There is a place where you can get a shake with different types of meals in them like a thanksgiving shake and a hot cheetos shake and a sushi shake just in case you may be interested in that
While that first burger did look like it was cooked well, I'd honestly rather have that cut into 2 or 3 patties than one horking meatball. It serves no purpose other than spectacle.
Checking out baddie by the escalator. Busted 😁😁
I grew up in Hollywood you missed going to the famous Nicks bar across the street on the beach for the best stuffed lobster!
looks delicious! I would love to see what eats you could scope out in Canada! we love you mikey! 💕
Mike, next time you come to South Florida, you should go to Louie Bossi, which is also an iconic restaurant in Fort Lauderdale that serves amazing neopolitan pizza
Hey man I love watching your videos. I’d love to show you around a very unique food experience we have in south Florida and that is the kosher food scene.. we have some amazing kosher restaurants in south Florida!
...and theres a place in oakland park called 'bravo gourmet sandwich'...peruvian place, best ceviche around .
My dear, the rich delicious food buffet you eat already given you enough vitamins
Awesome job Mikey.
every dish is this guys favorite dish
This just became a great night! ❤❤
I just get white rice everyday and watch Chen's video.
Dawg the Filipino food leftovers the staff gets must be nice
I'd like to work there just for them leftovers lmao.
Le Tub, what a fun place to go in Hollywood Beach, their fries are amazing!!
cant convince me that there wasn't someone with a weapon pointed at him while reviewing that burger bloody hell
mike, use a spoon when eating filipino food so that you can scoop all the sauce and rice in one go.
I normally hate on burgers, but that’s one that is satisfying after a day on the lake.
It’s the perfect doneness for me! Yum. 😊
that is the best looking burger I have ever seen!
They need to toast that burger bun
I like how you are so enthusiastic about trying new food, you get so excited you describe everything so well. I know this is probably your main job yet you make it fun,. Thank you.
3:21 This burger is the arch enemy of the smash burger
That is what I call a real me burger! 🤤😋🥰 That red in the middle 🤤 I eat my steaks rare blue. Mmmmm.
How many times does he have to say FAT in his commentary
I'm drooling right now?
Near my home, there's buffet like 5$
all fresh and newly cook, because there are a lot of people eating.
I always eat there during weekends with my family. (first come, first serve or you're going to wait outside).
i love your video very delicious food
Love your channels 🍔🍕and always look forward to new uploads. Thanks for showing $$ very helpful, Let’s us know if we can afford to hit these places. Enjoy your road trip and the best in 2023 to you and your lovely bride, from a fellow New Yorker. Til we eat again. 🙏🏼❤️
Hello Mr!Next time you visit the Philippines try going to grumpy Joe's in pampangga ,they said the food there are delicious..
Thank you for always taking us along on your journeys around the world to try food thay many of us will never get to try!
Hope you’re well
Mikey stop in Mississippi and try Mugshot's I think it's the best place around to get a burger, they got the burger challenge 🥰
Sinigang can also be made with salmon belly or with shrimp . My favorite is shrimp sinigang .
I thought you said you were in Hollywood FL, then I heard you say Miami?
Making me hungry 😋
I thought he was taking about that server behind him when he said thick and juicy lol
Wow what a feast and it's dirt cheap
I love Filipino food
You should try the new additions sides of Jollibee like biscuits and Mac and cheese hehehe they are available in Jollibee new York times square....
Jollibee in ph is deteriorating fast. They're now more expensive than American 🇺🇸 chains, switched to Pepsi and I just tried their chicken Ala King pie (like peach mango). It was really disgusting! Their chicken sandwich is also $4 but tastes crap. PH 🇵🇭 KFC's zinger tastes a lot better.
It's almost 8 already ate. Still going to intently.
You still in FL? Our American Chinese place is hounded about our general tso's. It's take out, doesn't claim to be anything but we've got some customers that'll throw hands over it😂
I REALLY like Mikes videos. Really educational and detailed.
🤣
Yeah that educational part was prob in his early videos...not sure about current ones
THANK YOU for pronouncing Ferrero Rocher correctly! ☺️
5:17 “I like it thick and juicy” Mike 2023😝
Mike Chen looks like a Filipino Chinese, who is fluent in English. It means yayamanin hahahahahaha
Filipino buffet sounds good!
YOU NEED A FORTNITE CHARACTER!!!! Also my husband and I always watch you and freaking think your awesome!!!!!!!!!’n ❤
Ugh.. that burger looks LUSCIOUS! Mike, always taking care of business 😅 Good episode!
Well my sis lives in Fort Lauderdale near Hollywood and now I know where we're going to eat my next visit!! Miami is further but I want to eat at that buffet too!!
Baby got back!
Where is the Asian market located
i could still hear that burger mooing, id need mine done a bit more aha
Hi Mike! Come back to the Philippines! There's still a lot for you to try here! Loads of regional dishes, from Palapa and Pyanggang in the south, to Uved and Pinakbet in the north :)
I got diarrhea after taking AG1!
Your body: PURGE
The meat to bun ratio on that burger isn't my thing, but the Filipino buffet looks amazing. There used to be a similar Filipino grocery store / buffet in Winnipeg Canada... So Good!
