The deep roar of the 1 and 2jz is amazing and it’s faster than rbs but nothing will beat that superior fucking rb sound and it’s not even close lol rb20 and 26 matter of fact they all sound beautiful that perfect complex noise idk jz’s just can’t mess with rbs when it comes to sound

Where I'm from (Southside West Va) we ride in V8's and thump down the road.
Impossible to judge, but theres nothing like an SR20 growl (I feel the same about the 3S-GTE)! I like the unique sound of a 1JZ, sounds like a 4cyl with 2 extra cylinders.. The RB sounds like a V8 with 2 missing cylinders.. if that makes sense.
So a V6...?
cxbra I used to think the Skyline had a V8 in it when I first heard it watching a friend play NFSU.
Way late but what he was pointing out is like the sound difference between the pushrod & crossplane type exhaust pulses. Rb's sound like a mix of a BMW straight 6 & a v8 diesel with a lot of setups. Whereas 1jz's have a more smooth burble tone similar to a 2 stroke 3 cylinder or 4 rotor wankel.

Rb has different valve flow than jz , I think thats why it sounds rumbly whereas 1jz sound throttier
