Known for it's reliability and potential to cope with high power, this engine is a clear candidate among the best 4-cylinder engines. One of THE best sounding 4 cylinders period. I feel like I4s have a reputation as being high pitched raspy power plants but these things put out some serious grunt.

@@POVShotgun u want the oil pickup to be completely submerged in oil all the time a baffled oil pan makes that happen. So theres less of a chance u Starve the motor for oil! While sideways or on the track!
@@natasunknow240 OHHHHH I had to watch some videos. But yeah. When you are in corners all that oil does slush to the corner so that extra oil that was initially held back on the otherside flowing back in via the baffles is definitely a good thing.

a lot of what I've seen seems to do with the turbo manifold and where it sits, mid mounts sound seeexy, check out ADAM LZ's new green S15 it's got one and has that nice deep tone

everyone i know with SR's and everyone they know with SR's couldn't do half this shit without blowing something, either seals or gaskets if not a hole in the block, how tf these guys do it? xD

@@mynamejev2489 the people I know put the most expensive "best head gasket" on their SR and put the RTB on exactly the way you're supposed too and it'll still leak

Really ? Only thing my SR has blown is about 40 sets of back tyres. Engine has never had a spanner on it except oil change.
Must admit it doesn't get used often.

So this was an sr20det compilation then right? No NA's here.. too bad too because besides turbo flutter there exhaust and turbo exhaust dump out the same pipe making sound second best compared to NA with headers imo.. turbo flutters cool though I just prefer actual exhaust tones over whistly noises 😅 my dad has a high port European spec sr20 NA with headers and people say it sounds way to exotic to be a Nissan
As far as I know, the only possible N/A SR20 was the Sentra SE-R racing at the drag strip

Best sound a CA makes is the silence just after a rod goes out the block at a mere 300whp or less because of piss weak thin oem rods
