You can lock the camera behind you a little bit by moving the two slides towards your back so when you walk they aren't actually at risk of hitting into each other.
One way you can prevent the cameras from swinging wildly and potentially collide while walking/runing is to attach a couple of carabiners to your trouser's belt loops. One carabiner on each side will allow you to lock the cameras in place when necessary.
excellent review i have had the single sports strap for years and love it, i was however thinking of getting this for a camera with zoom and a camera with macro lens save me all the messing around of going in the bag,
Thank you. I have 2 single R straps, and I use 2 bodies a lot, and I criss cross them, but it can be uncomfortable and annoying. This helped me decide to get the double.
thanks for the review! this has helped me make up my mind. I have a solution to prevent both cameras from banging together at the front. I wear two tubes around my waist front for my wide macro (sigma 24F1.8macro) and a fast 35f1.4. these tubes keep the cameras apart.
I got one of these a few days ago, they have solved the cameras meeting in the middle in front of you by adding a brace strap that keeps the straps at the back closer together 👍🏻 They have also added safety tethers so in the unlikely event that the fastener came undone from the tripod socket your cameras won’t fall and hit the ground 👌🏻
Thank you for a simple and clear review of this double strap. I use Cotton Carrier and while it is larger than this one, it takes care of the swinging cameras, hence they do not collide while walking or leaning forward.
I was leaning strongly to the Blackrapid double breath because I don't want a "vest" like the Cotton Carrier, for several reasons but at least the CC keeps the camera in place. A dozen videos and not one shows a person walking. The whole point of a harness is so I can walk, no? Move along the sideline, climb over a guard rail, hike to a better spot, etc.
Yeah I was looking at this product, but with two tele lenses on my camera bodies, walking fast could be a problem with the camera bodies swinging around. I currently use two CarrySpeed Pro with wide should pads. They are setup crossing each other. The straps are so darn comfortable even with two heavy cameras, and they don't swing around much. Looking at other double strap brands, there doesn't seem to be a solution for this clashing.
Hi Brian, I recently bought a 70-200mm 2.8L and I've been using the tripod mount on the strap to avoid stress on the lens mount. I wasn't able to find much info from forums regarding that lens just hanging from the body on a strap. Have you had any issues over the years with the weight affecting mounting plate or the camera body mount?

Buy a set of cheap safety straps to add to this. One of the pivots gave out on mine and my $4500 camera fell to the ground. I don't know why BlackRapid doesn't just include them. I paid $9 for the ones I have on my replacement strap. I'm an amateur photographer and the pivot gave out after about two years of vacation use. They've replaced the pivots now and the new one's look more solid, but I still won't trust them (without safety straps) after my experience. Also, check the snugness of the tripod mount screw-on thingees frequently. I've never had one fall out, but have found them dangerously loose before.
After more than a year, do you feel the same way? Also wondering if the strap pulls down on one side when you list the camera to shoot on the opposite side? I bought an Op/Tech double strap and while comfortable it does not have the strap that goes across the chest and I found that it pulls down on one side when I lift the camera on the opposite side. It moves so much that I have to readjust when lowering the camera back down.

SOUND?!!!!!! Hmmm the strap locking system is not new it was on the old the last version of the dual strap, they also state that to get a good seal is to wet the 1/3 screw mount a little to get a good tight seal...AND NEVER NEVER attached to the camera if sporting a larger lens on, that's why you have a 1/3 mount that comes with larger telephoto lenses, as it takes the lens stress off the camera ! You had the single on the right way at first?!, Not really advisable to put the strap on with camera attached they will bash together, Sorry thumbs down not informative.

I think it's called a Double Breathe because there are two holders. Good video though...
