I’m off to Nahanni National Park tomorrow, Northwest Territories, Canada - the Land of the Midnight Sun. It’s a long way from Kinder Scout where I spent my youth in all weathers. We have ten days planned from the fly in to fly out. I’m 59 now, but I’ll never stop this adventuring until this adventuring stops me. Keep it up, Paul.
You, Pat and Andy Beavers are the ones that inspired me to go out on my first wild camp recently. Thanks to you and your Wild camping videos, my mental health is doing so much better. Keep going Paul, you're still young! ;)
@LeeFuzzy . You keep on going pal and continue to improve your mental health, you’re doing great mate from the sounds of it. lots of love from a complete stranger who also suffers.
We (me and the Mrs) have had a small Eriba caravan for a number of years but we are campers at heart. So..... last year we decided to get the old tiny Saunders Spacepacker tent out which was last used in Iceland on a cycle tour in 1989, just to see if could still hack it at the age of 80 and 77. Yes it was a bit hard but an old air bed made it a bit more comfortable and the tent stood up well. Cooking was done on a Trangia with gas burner. It was great fun.....so you're never too old Paul, but it does get harder for us real oldies.😀
I love all your videos. I think it's your presentation style that does it for me. I find you're personality & "way" very calming. My wife & I are "car campers" ... Probably closer to glamping than camping. We use a 4 person tunnel tent that I can stand up in (I'm just over 6 ft) and electric hook up, on campsites. I'd love to see you do something similar sometime, showing how your camping skills can be adjusted & applied to the "family camp site" way of doing things. Keep up the good work, I'm loving it. Oh...& If you're ever visiting Ireland, look us up. There's a welcome on the mat.
Its a great video again Paul, keep at it, you cannot beat getting outdoors, I'm 54 and still yomping, just recently boxing the Jurassic coast walk with my two boys and three other friends. I'm on the CUMBRIA WAY in a couple of weeks... love your stuff, you were the first outdoors TH-cam video I watched getting me on them there hills again... thank you
Love your vids, both your old format and your new format. Always interesting, well made, nice editing, nice footage. Keep on, keeping on! Need to show your last but one vid, Last But One Action Hero, to my sister so she can understand why we do all this stuff. And yes, really like it when your most excellent wife features in your vids. My most excellent wife is a huge part of who i am and i quite often mention her and our son, in conversation to my customers so they know exactly where i'm coming from.
The COLD in June! That's crazy how the weather has been. Your hot Steak looked good and must have helped tame the COLD for a bit of time. We're experiencing extreme HEAT temps in the Southern USA. AC, 2 fans, and no bed covering is our order of the nighttime rituals. I've all but sworn off cooking except for One Pot meals, it's too hot 🔥 in the kitchen 😆. 😂I feel a tear form 😂.
What you are doing is keeping you healthy and young. You have a good sense of humour and that’s another TICK. You have a loving, funny and supportive wife - another TICK. If you feel forced to do the camps then stop, if you don’t enjoy it anymore then stop or do less. You don’t have to have a “sensational “ risky weather camp for me, you don’t have to put yourself in danger, you can have a tame and easy camp for me - I just like tagging along seeing the UK all the way from Australia. Do what you can and you enjoy.
Hi new to your channel and love it. Cooking meat slow is the best way to do it, heard in your voice when you took your first mouth full, got loads of videos to watch and looking forward to all of them, take care of yourself and see you soon Alan, 💯⛺👍
Genius, the way you put the tent down 👍 We might get older but we get smarter too. We’re allowed to evolve as well like you have from bushcraft in the early days to where you are now. And it will change again just as we change. That’s our own evolution and I loooove the fact you share your evolution so openly. Follow your heart, your gut, and keep listening to Jo! 🙏
Get some veggies into yourself. Helps with body temperature regulation. Another smashin video. I'm 66 and still trekking about with my dog. I'll camp till I drop. There is absolutely no replacement for peace of mind. Thanks Paul.
Hi mate, for some reason I love watching your videos, I’m not even into wild camping!”YET”. I was only watching a review on a sleeping bag, because sometimes I sleep in the back of my van.. I’m watching a couple of your videos a night at the moment😂 I actually find them therapeutic..🤙🥂
Variation is great, some camping videos and some other stuff. What about a video preparing to go camping when you are old? Like using an electric wheelbarrow to carry your stuff :P
Don't think I could cope without living in the Pennines(not an overly pretty bit). Early dart from work MTB out, stove n tea bags loaded up and I'm a happy man.
New subscriber from Portugal here....Really impressive content buddy....New ideas plus getting older, try trips on an electric bicycle. Stick the bike in a van, take off, have a short ride and let's see the kit you'd carry for that experience...No mountains required😊...Keep up the great work !
Just keep doing it! Age is often a mindset (don't let the old man in!) Recently met a lady doing the TGO at age 84!!! Did Vivobarefoot replace your boots Paul?
Thanks for the effort with all the videos your doing and awesome job at keeping up with the challenge. Do it the way you want we will appreciate it anyway.
Hi Paul, enjoying your videos, and the new mix it up content with your nice down to earth style and of course, great to see some laid back British content 👍 You're quite well established now, if you're worried about things getting a bit "samey", try going back to basics, many of your viewers aren't starting out with your gear or experience. Things you take for granted may be informative to others, i.e. planning, choosing routes, gear selection, identifying water sources before setting out. Maybe even some of your bushcraft. Keep it up pal.
That was great Paul. Nice to see you back in the hills, but I have been enjoying the daily vlogs a lot. I enjoyed the last section, taking down the tent and packing it away - very satisfying.
Enjoying your daily videos. I like the variety. I used to live in Bradford and have walked/visited many of the places you go to. I am now lucky to live on the Isle of Wight, another great outdoors place! Keep up the good work. Best wishes.
I've loved your daily content so far Paul. How about a video on your recommendations for tents, sleeping gear and cooking kit on the budget, mid and high end budgets? Thanks.
I find camping in the wind quite exciting. Being in the right tent makes a huge difference though. Anyhow, how about a video highlighting all the various types of stoves that are available and what the different types of fuel can be. As in gas, meths, sticks, pellets, solid fuels etc… There are a lot of new campers around that may not be aware of the various options. I’ve just got my Firebox flat pack cooker out of retirement and are using pellets in it. Not as easy as gas but more fun which is what it’s all about. 👍
Really nice video, I liked the fact that in your short daily you showed the selection of gear, and then we see the camp with that gear.. Loving the table.
I enjoy the daily’s. If I’m honest the WHW type stuff is the best but I’m sure you don’t wanna spend the next few years walking up and down Scotland just to please others😂 Variety is the spice and all that.
Great to see you out camping Paul, that'll be three videos I've seen of this camp now! Still loved them all. Really enjoying your daily vids, 9/10 of them are brilliant and very entertaining, yesterday's was particularly good (the can't have both one). Thanks mate, hope you can keep them coming!
Windy one up there Paul... I just recently bought the unna... So impressed by the space in there... Can make a huge porch and still have space... Very underestimated tent. Thanks for the vid. Always good to see u out 👍
Another great video Paul, thanks for sharing. It shines through in the videos that you are enjoying the experience, just carry on doing what makes you happy.
Wish Joe a happy birthday from me please Mr messner.... I spent wed, Thurs, Friday in peak district.. did wed night on winnets pass ( wake up for solstice sunrise) .. here is an interesting question which I have made myself as I am doing some outdoor hiking myself in Norway and tents from time to time. I've been thinking taking 2 years travelling with my electric car and put my clothes and tent + hiking gear in it, and live out of a tent and the car for a year or two travelling and saving some money. Do you think this is something you would be able to do or is this something just out of a "dream" ? hehe, good question really.
Regarding bringing fresh meat etc, do you bring it up frozen so it’s generally defrosted by the time it’s due to be cooked. I’m 59 and only just started getting into to wild camping with my dog. I think it may have been Paul's snoring that drove the other camper away.
I use Red Eyed Hog seasoning for my meat. Available in the UK from 'Jackal Firearms ', up your way somewhere. Worth a try defiantly.

Paul, Do you ever notice the cupules or cup marks on the rocks you’re walking on? I’ve seen several in this video.
I see loads but not sure how they are formed.
Nice to wake up to a vid this morning.

Love a good camping video. You inspired me to get back at it again. Which I very much appreciate!
Hi Paul what fuel do you use in that stove? Love the film BTW👌
Love the daily stuff👍

A bit too windy for my liking.. but good to see you out..
