I have been wild camping since 1979, here are a few things that might help. Take a small radio with you it helps cancel out stupid noises in the night which are nearly always small animals. Make the tent space yours you will feel more comfortable in a space that you feel is homely and yours. Expect to hear people in the night, it always amazes me how many people are walking around in the middle of the woods at night usually with a dog but not always. Let someone know where you are going for safety reasons and when you expect to be back. Eat good food, nothing makes you feel better than a really nice meal. Finally set off with a good thought about it all that will carry you through the night. Good story loved all of it.
Hello! All really good tips thank you for sharing them 😊 I’ve never heard anyone at night yet, but I also haven’t tried camping in woods yet 😄 I’m quite nervous of that because of the noises! Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it 😊✨
Well done on completing your first solo wild camp. It’s liberating when going solo for the first time and the more you do it, the more you will want to do it. Good luck you!!

I love your work with the camera - it stands out from the hundreds of similar videos - and your voice over at the start is a lovely touch. And I’m thrilled you’ve done the solo wild camp- it’s a quiet revolution, a groundswell of people having a more intimate relationship with the land that we belong to. I’ve just come back today from only my second wild camp out in Northumberland. I jumped in with both feet and went for two nights and found I could relax like you. Your openness is so easy to connect with and quite disarming. Isn’t it funny how we are stronger and closer by sharing about our fears and our little triumphs overcoming them. Thank you 🙏
Thank you, really lovely to hear 😊 It is wonderful to be solitary in the wild, completely different from being there with others. And like you say, it feels like you can connect to where you are more 😊🌿 Wow that is jumping in the deep end, it must feel good to have gone for two nights though! I’m working my way up to that 😄 Yes I agree, being open and honest is far easier to relate too, though it can be scary to be honest at times. Especially online! But thank you for your lovely comment and I hope you get to enjoy more solo camps soon 😊🌞🌿✨
Of all the camping videos I have watched I have to say this is by far my favourite. You really managed to capture the tranquility and peace of the place. Really making me miss the summer.
Thank you, that's so lovely to hear! The peace of the wild is always what I try to capture so I'm really glad it's come across 😊 I can't wait for the spring and summer too!
Lovely lovely film. I’ve been wild camping for 20 years and remember that feeling of nervousness. It quickly disappears though. Some of best things I’ve seen have been wild camping which I’ll remember to the end of my days. I think we need to make the most of the time that we have. Keep going with it! I’m addicted to it now, normally tarp camping and have just got back from the Tour du Mont Blanc. Definitely recommend that one!
Thank you 😊 I totally agree, I think I’ve seen some of the most beautiful weather when camping ✨ I think I’m already becoming a little addicted 😄 I do find that having less makes it more of an experience also! Wow the tour de Mont Blanc must have been incredible 😍
Oh WOW, what a great piece. Your opening film work pulled me in, and your narrative was ringing with me from the start. REALLY well done for sharing your fears and the experience. I was so taken with the filming, the story and the narration. So looking forward to following your adventures. Well done you.
I think you're very brave and I commend you! 👏👍 The filming, sound and narrative is first class. Thank you for creating an entertaining watch. Brilliance 📽️
Hey Brook, Love this video. I've been wild camping on Dartmoor with my mate for a couple of years now; inspired by the wild camp community on TH-cam. I love it to pieces although I'm not sure if I could go and do it solo. Inspiring video. Maybe one day!
Thank you! Glad you liked it and found it inspiring 😊 try it in the height of summer, that way you don’t have much darkness to get through 😊 and maybe at full moon if you can time it right!
I am the same as you and it was really brave of you to do it alone and helpful that u filmed it ..I really want to do it aswell but the thought of being alone in the dark makes me feel sick x
I definitely didn’t feel brave doing it! But really glad you found it helpful 😊 the thought of it really made me feel sick too but once I’ve as out the fear sort of wore off 😊 maybe give it a try next summer when the nights are short again! 🤍
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. As a fifty plus year old bloke who has been dithering for years about wild camping you are an insperation. I think I'll actually order a tent in the near future!
What you describe going off inside your head is the same for most people. Sometimes we just need to learn to tell that inner voice to shut up so you can get on with things
It’s not as scary once your out 😊 it’s the anticipation that’s the most scary for me! Ah yeah the bugs can be an issue, I don’t mind the slugs but I do hate ticks! You just have to carefully check yourself afterwards 😊
Mate, that is one of the best vids I have seen on YT for wild camping. If you don't have a qualification in cinematography you are a born natural. Just about perfect, well done. X
I have just watched another a few days ago (no pot noodle). Again excellent vid. Gifted. I did a wild beach camp in bedroll this week. I still have a low level anxiety, even after years of camping, it's much less in a tent though as I guess I feel more secure. Please keep making vids, they are so calming and inspiring. Well done again. X
@@andyvint8066 Haha I feel the pot noodle (or lack of) may become a bit of a theme 😂 Thank you again 😊 I know what you mean about feeling more secure, but I also like the feeling of being less conspicuous in something like a bivvy. A beach camp sounds lovely though! I don't plan on stopping, I love making them😊
Wonderful! I can sympathise. Did my first solo stealth camp recently. Was so worried about being spotted that I stayed too long in the pub and had to put up the tent in pitch dark. Was immediately spooked by a pair of bright red eyes coming out of the dark, just a friendly dog and human so all good.
Haha sounds like a good story to tell for a first camp 😁 I’m very glad that I haven’t been spooked by eyes in the dark yet! Good luck with future camps and I hope they go more smoothly for you 😊
Well done and very nice video, one thing which I find very comforting is being off the beaten track, away from marked footpaths, summits, distinctive features etc. and I found making sure I was a very confident navigator helped with that, and just being confident about my mountain skills in general really, but you look and sound like an experienced and able camper anyway, also one addition I made to my first aid kit which I find extremely useful is earplugs, great for nights when the wind really picks up!
Thank you and glad you enjoyed 😊 yes being off the beaten track also helps me to feel more at ease! I’m fairly confident with navigation but want to work on it more this year 😁 ahh the ear plugs are a good idea thanks, I’ll pack them into my first aid 😁🌞
Thanks for posting this. I'm about to embark on my first solo next week in Cumbria. I'm extremely nervous but this has added a bit of confidence. Thank you.
Congratulations, Brook 🎉 Thank you for sharing - great videography. The stunningly good YT algo recommended this and I've subbed. I'm 50 and I still haven't camped out yet. I need to find my large army surplus bivi as I'd be happier in that than my one person dark blue tent. And some woods were nobody goes, as there's no large wild spaces. Prevarication...
Thank you! Glad you liked it and thank you for subbing 😁 yes I feel a lot more comfortable in my bivvy than a tent, just feels less conspicuous! It’s so easy to put off but does feel amazing once your out and alone 😊✨
Really enjoyed the visuals at the start of this video, fantastic camera work, loved the light coming through. Great pitch, perfect sunset, pretty good all round video👏 🏞⛺️🤘
Thanks so much for sharing this. I plan to do my first solo bivvi in a couple of weeks as part of a long distance route. I have done lots of ultra events and multi-day events and nodding off for 15 minutes in a field or on a wall or bench doesn't bother me but sleeping for a whole night on my own is a scary prospect. Thanks for giving me a bit of confidence 😊
I’m really glad to hear it helped with your confidence 😁 it is a whole other thing sleeping out for a night but also a wonderful experience! Good luck with your bivvying and long distance route, I’m sure you will just relax once you’re out 😊🌞✨
Great job 👍. First time camping in the woods lol. It was great an worrying about the things that go boo..... But ya when you get over the fear. It's all good 👍🔥🦉🇬🇧
Just stumbled across your video. Really well filmed and communicated. You show the nervousness most females would have camping out alone. Really enjoyed it.
We don’t even know each other and yet I’m so freakin’ proud of you! Congrats on your first camp solo!! The spot you picked was incredible. Love your filming and how you captured that moment in time. I would be dead nervous and for that reason have never solo camped before however seeing you do it for the first time has built my confidence a little. Appreciate the tips and advise too! Keep seeking and creating! 🤓🫶🏻🙌🏼
Thank you 😁🤍 glad you liked it! I have felt so nervous about it for so long which is why I’ve put it off for years. But just thought if I don’t just do it, I never will! I hope you manage to try it soon, it really didn’t feel as scary as I thought it would before going. And such a wonderful feeling having done it 😊 really happy to hear my video has given a bit of confidence to try it as well! 😁🌞✨
Been all my life here in north Maine woods without seeing people for days which kinda is scary with a lot of wildlife and people vanishing without a trace ,have to say seeing your first solo overnight camping was pretty good. Loved watching it,thanks for sharing. Subscribed
That does sound quite scary! I guess in the UK we don’t have to worry about wild animals when camping and we also don’t have such huge expanses of wild! You’re never too far from roads or towns here (unless you’re in Scotland). It must be quite a different thing camping in the US to the UK! Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed 😊🌿✨
Great video. Really enjoyed it. No ghost or human was gonna be bothered following you up there. 😂 Well done on your first solo camp. I'm sure there'll be plenty more in the offing. Respect!
great vid, I think woodland camps can be more 'alarming' due to the activity at night where even a tiny mouse can sound like a 20 stone ogre at 3am. Even after all the years I've solo camped I've never lost the slight butterflies at a new odd noise or fleeting shape in the woods and I'm glad as that is what makes it exciting.
I loved watching this, and though you might still be nervous at times, you've stepped out; overcome your fears and you've become the master of your fears rather than let your fears master you. Your approach to the venture was pretty well perfect. You kept everything simple! By doing this, though you might not have realised, you gave yourself little by way of excuses to not go. You're absolutely right that there is little chance of anybody finding you, bearing in mind that nobody is up there looking for you. There's also almost zero chance of you coming across anybody once you're settled into your bivi for the night. Absolutely loved this video. I'm looking forward to seeing more, to join you on your journey, to watch you in your growth. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed 😊 I have to say, I’m not sure I mastered my fears but it definitely didn’t feel as scary, once I was out, as I’d imagined it would! 😁🌞
@BrookAurora That's what mastering the fears is 🙂 The fear might remain but that fear doesn't shackle you; doesn't stop you. You know that fear you have isn't a rational fear, and so, you don't let it master you. That's what mastering the fear means. We still need to have fear in our lives, and in some situations we might need to listen to it, but that fear will take over if we allow it. Thanks for taking the time to reply. That's very much appreciated. All the best to you.
@@mallyredfearn6834 that’s a very good point! I didn’t think of it like that, thank you for explaining 😊 Your welcome, I might take some time, but I do try to reply to everyone. I really appreciate people like you taking the time to write a comment. So thank you, too 😊🌞
Just stumbled across your video, lovely filming and lovely views ^_^ You did really well for you first solo, I bet you feel so much better for it now you've done it ^_^ well done 👍
Loved this video, just found your channel :) snap on the winter sleeping bag front, seems to work just great all year round for me! This has given me the motivation to get out and bivvy myself, so thank you :)
Thank you and glad you found me 😊🌞 yeah works for me all year too! Though I wish a summer would work as it’d be lighter 😄 I hope you enjoy your bivvy 😊🌞✨

I'm going to start again late spring 2024 - allowing myself time to get more fit and accumulate the necessary gear. I've subscribed and look forward to more of your videos ❤
Thank you, glad you liked it! 😊 I can imagine it almost feels like the first time again after a long break from it! Hahah yeah not sure you'd fit a child into a bivvy too 😂 Spring seems like a great time to start again 😊 good luck with it and thanks for subscribing! 🤍🌿✨
thank you sm for posting this. im doing my first camping trip since i was 16. Im now 21 and doing it solo tmr! Ive been really excited the past week but got a sudden wave of anxiety and I'm really glad I came across your video, its made me feel a lot better :)
At the risk of sounding patronising. I started camping out solo when I was 9yrs old and am now 54 the first few times I was waking up at every sound but I learned to look around at your surroundings as it gets dark and pick out shades that when it’s dark would scar you and try to remember what they were when it was light. You get used to animal noises as you learn what they are, the screech owl was my scariest noise. Great video beautiful scenery. Thanks think I’ll subscribe. 🤗👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow 9 years old! That is a young age to start 😄 thanks for the tip, that is very helpful and funny because I was actually staring at a dark patch of land on the last camp I did, wondering if it had been their the whole night or not 😄 so looking out for them before it gets dark is a very good idea! Thank you! 😊✨🌞
@@BrookAurora hi. Thanks for talking to me. Yes I took my kids camping this weekend for 3 nights in the woods. Well I say kids my daughter is 23 but full of anxiety and very anxious about everything she just at home all the time which is a big worry for me. My so is 15 and completely different. But I’ve taught them to look around all the time as it gets dark, things always look different in the dark I also tell them to not use the touch to much as it plays tricks with your mind. Just let your eyes adjust naturally to the change in light. Yes I started young because I had parents who didn’t care to much.
@@ed7540 of course! It does sometimes take me a while but I try and reply to everyone’s comments, I appreciate the time people like you take to write them, so I try to do the same 😊 it seems like you’re teaching your kids well and I’m sure they’ll appreciate it as they get older! I definitely appreciate my parents doing the same sort of things with me 😁 hopefully the more time your daughter spends outside the less anxious she will feel, the wild can do magic like that! ✨ I’m sorry to hear that 🙁 but it sounds like your making up for it with your children 😊🌿🌞
Well done for facing your fears, very courageous to do so. As for the video it is simply beautiful felt myself relaxing the more I watched it so thank you for that, you also have a lovely clear voice. 😎
Brilliant, well done! It took me about five years to finally camp alone in the wild and without permission. I'd bought the kit and just like you, made several excuses not to go. I was hooked after the first one and still get that buzz when I've been. I'll try a bivi camp sometime, a perfect idea for a stealthy night. You have a new subscriber, looking forward to more 🙂
Thank you! It’s so easy to put off isn’t it! But like you say, once you’ve done it once it’s very addictive. Just to wake up alone and in the silence 😊🌞 yes I defiantly recommend a bivvy! Thank you and hope you enjoy! ✨🌿
Nothing short of a tremendous victory, very well done indeed & great videography too. The people who find things easy, mostly do so because they only do the things they find easy anyway. You have tackled this demon head on & won hands down ! Keep up the good work & more power to your elbow ( & Brochan's). Best wishes from Northumberland.
Thank you! It did feel like a big victory, especially after years of persuading myself not to do it 😄 getting out of your comfort zone does give you some incredible experiences 😁
Yes I definitely agree, it can be so easy to stay in a comfortable space but you can loose out on a lot of experiences 😊 I’m definitely glad I pushed myself to do this! 😊✨
I've yet to do a solo camp in a random place, managed it in field attached to a friend's farm and that was fun but there was no rush to get gone early or pitch up late....I wish I could find the confidence to pop out onto the SWCP that I live so close to and just get that first proper solo out of the way....I'm like you, convinced every noise is a lunatic! Lovely video, subbed your channel 😊
It’s scary I have to say! Since I did a few solo camps last year but havnt done it again this year yet! I fee like you need to do it regularly to keep the confidence up! But once the first one is out of the way it doesn’t feel quite so daunting 😊 and it’s such a wonderful experience waking up alone and in silence on the mountains 🥰🌞 hope you get to do it soon!
I live in Canada, and am incredibly fortunate to be able to pretty well walk out into any forest or mountain area and set up camp for the night without worry about it being illegal. This is the first video of yours that I have watched, and one of the reasons is because I have visited the Lake District in Northern England a few times and have always wanted to wander out into the hills and just camp overnight. Not sure what part of Britain you are in, but it sure is beautiful! Your video work is excellent! You have a good eye for it. I've never used a bivy, but I have done a lot of tarp camping. Never really liked tents. I enjoy your approach to it all, that it's not really about distance or accomplishment, but just about being out there in natural surroundings. It's a soul requirement!
Oh wow that sounds like a dream! Canada is somewhere I’d love to visit, such a beautiful country! The Lake District is an incredible part of the UK, although wild camping isn’t really allowed, I think people get away with it as long as their discrete. So you probably could wander into the hills and camp 😊 I am from Wales 🏴 Thank you, really pleased to hear 😊 I am definitely more of a fan of the bivvy than a tent now, tarp camping is also something I’d like to try though! Yes that’s exactly what I’m trying to put across! There is so much beauty in the wild where ever you look, I just love the journey, it doesn’t matter how far I get or where I end up 🌞✨🌿
Great video, I’m looking to try this with my dog. I live in Kent unfortunately there are not a lot of really remote areas compared to some, so setting up an actual tent discreetly is a lot more difficult. So I’m looking into starting with a bivvy which is far more discreet. Can I ask what type of bivvy bag you are using. Cheers
I love your message and voiceover. Be safe. Think about getting a little camouflage netting to conceal your Bivy sack.Never camp on the crest of a hill where you will be silhouetted against the sky.
I really enjoyed this video! I'm about to turn 18 and have wanted to go solo wild camping for a while now, this has really helped me feel better about it, so thank you :)
Hello! Really happy to hear it’s helped you feel better about solo camping 😊 it really doesn’t feel as bad once your out and walking. Good luck when you get the chance to do it 😊🌞✨
Beautifully filmed, honest and a joy to watch. Well done on your first solo wild camp, I totally related to the fear and nerves, I've still to do the solo camp. Look forward to seeing your next solo camp. New sub 👍 sue
Thanks Sue, I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊 It always feels scarier in your head than it actually is, in my limited experience! And such a wonderful experience when you wake up in solitude 😊🌞
Here's just some absolute truth from me. I've had literally spent hundreds of nights in wild places camping through my journey in bushcraft. I have seen the hardest of men openly admit they are scared of certain places to camp alone. I have been many places where I myself have thought holy shit this is dodgy as😂. They make the most interesting camps sometimes I think. I loved that you nailed the first one and I could see inside your eyes you were buzzing if a little tired. Here's a tip that I do every times i go to bed, my knife goes in my pocket and my headtorch I wrap around my wrist. Now I have light when I need it and I know where it is and my knife just gives me that little bit of security against the wild big cats that I'm scared might roam the u.k 😂😂😂 All the best !
It’s comforting to know that others find it scary too, although I don’t wish anyone else to feel scared! I guess it’s quite a natural feeling, being out and quite vulnerable in a way. What kind of dodgy places have you found? Yes I was so happy to have finally done what I’d wanted to do for years! 😁 Thank you for the tip, I had my knife ready but the torch is definitely a good idea! I’m hoping I never run into a big wild cat 😂😂
Camping near an old colliery that had a huge disaster was a weird one for sure. That kept me up a while, I camped in a lime kil ln right next to a grave yard. That was scary 😂, on my last video we stayed in the forest of Dean and at 4am a roe buck deer sneaked in behind and started screaming. Check that the hell out, there is nothing out there to harm us but our own imaginations. Unfortunately "People" are the scariest thing there is. Unless you are in America because bears are pretty fucking scary
@@MAXIMOUTDOORS Haha they do sound like some scary camps!! Thankfully mine have all be quite straightforward so far 😂 I'm sure I'll have some weird experiences at some point though! I totally agree, animals aren't what I fear, though I can imagine I would be scared in a country with bears 🤣
Other than your terrible choice for dinner,😄 I commend you on a great bit of work. It's amazing how you have such a good grasp of camera framing and shot selection with well chosen music. Something your competition fail to grasp on the whole. Well done for going it alone. Looking forward to your next one!

Beautiful work! Really good to watch and inspiring. The day when I solo wild camp is coming and you have brought that day closer. Thank you.
Thank you, glad to hear that 😁 good luck with your camp! I hope you enjoy it and it goes well 😊🌞
Lovely lovely film.
Thank you 😊 I totally agree, I think I’ve seen some of the most beautiful weather when camping ✨
I think I’m already becoming a little addicted 😄 I do find that having less makes it more of an experience also!
Thank you! Really lovely to hear and I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊✨
I think you're very brave and I commend you!
Thank you! It’s always really lovely to hear when my video has inspired someone 😊 I hope you enjoy your first camp whenever you get to do it 😁✨
Well done, it's a good feeling isnt it. Good luck for the future and thanks for such a cool video.
Thank you, yes an amazing feeling 😁 glad you enjoyed!
You are very cautious you need to be in these days. God Bless you sister.
Congratulations and well done. Reaaally enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it 😊
I adored this video. You have such a calming and grounding presence
Thank you! Lovely to hear 😊🌞
What you describe going off inside your head is the same for most people. Sometimes we just need to learn to tell that inner voice to shut up so you can get on with things
Defiantly! I am telling my inner voice to be quiet a lot of the time 😄
Hey you, i am 44, guy from Denmark Scandinavia, have ptsd and depression, im in awe of you, keep on keeping on!❤
Hi, I'm sorry to hear you have PTSD and depression, I hope it gets easier 😊 and thank you for your comment 😊🌞
Well done fpr camping alone - I would be so scared. But would also worry about bugs (ticks and slugs).
Wow thank you! 😁 no qualification, I have just always loved film and photography 😊✨
I don't plan on stopping, I love making them😊
Breathtaking scenery and atmosphere my friend!
Thank you! 😊✨
Good luck with future camps and I hope they go more smoothly for you 😊
You must be brave your on you tube. That's courageous in itself.
Thank you 😊
Well done and very nice video, one thing which I find very comforting is being off the beaten track, away from marked footpaths, summits, distinctive features etc. and I found making sure I was a very confident navigator helped with that, and just being confident about my mountain skills in general really, but you look and sound like an experienced and able camper anyway, also one addition I made to my first aid kit which I find extremely useful is earplugs, great for nights when the wind really picks up!
Thank you and glad you enjoyed 😊 yes being off the beaten track also helps me to feel more at ease! I’m fairly confident with navigation but want to work on it more this year 😁 ahh the ear plugs are a good idea thanks, I’ll pack them into my first aid 😁🌞
Thank you, Brook. Look forward to more. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you! 😊🌞
Thanks for posting this. I'm about to embark on my first solo next week in Cumbria. I'm extremely nervous but this has added a bit of confidence. Thank you.
Thank you, really glad to hear it’s helped with your confidence a bit for your camp 😊 hope it goes well for you and enjoy!
Good for you. Keep up the great vids.
Superb video. Brilliant editing. Thanks for uploading.👏👏👏
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊✨
That Raven is your spirit animal. ❤.
Great video, your hairstyle is very cool.
Congratulations, Brook 🎉
Thank you for sharing - great videography.
Great pitch, perfect sunset, pretty good all round video👏
🏞⛺️🤘
Thank you, lovely to hear 😊🌞✨
Enjoyed watching your vid. That was a bonny view you had and it looked a great place to camp out. Hope to see more of you out camping!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed 😊 yes it is a wonderful spot! And just perfect to fit a bivvy on 😁 yes hopefully be out camping soon!
It's all good 👍🔥🦉🇬🇧
Thank you! Yeah I definitely wasn’t up for camping the first time in the woods! So many noises 😂 I’m building up to it though 😁🌳🌲
What a lovely video! Well done on getting out even though you were nervous!
Thank you! 😊✨
Well done. Takes a lot for many of us to break that duck but once we do, it becomes second nature.
Thank you! Yes it was scary but I’m excited to get out solo again now 😁🌞
What a unique video! Very different from other Hike/Camp vids I have seen. I look forward to watching more, Well Done!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it 😊🌞✨
Very inspiring as I too have wanted to do it but have put it off over and over. Waking up to that peace and views must feel incredible. Well done!
It’s so easy to put off isn’t it, but is defiantly worth going out! There’s nothing like being completely alone at dusk and dawn 😊
Just stumbled across your video. Really well filmed and communicated. You show the nervousness most females would have camping out alone. Really enjoyed it.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 😊✨
Well done. More solo camping to come. You are absolutely Great 👍😃
Thank you! Yes hopefully more camping soon 😁🌞
Respect!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 😊 I’d hope not 😂 there definitely will!
great vid, I think woodland camps can be more 'alarming' due to the activity at night where even a tiny mouse can sound like a 20 stone ogre at 3am. Even after all the years I've solo camped I've never lost the slight butterflies at a new odd noise or fleeting shape in the woods and I'm glad as that is what makes it exciting.
I haven’t tried a solo camp in the woods but I can totally imagine what your saying! It’s the reason I haven’t tried it yet 😂 one day I hope to 😁🌿
I loved watching this, and though you might still be nervous at times, you've stepped out; overcome your fears and you've become the master of your fears rather than let your fears master you.
Thank you.
Thank you for your comment, I’m glad you enjoyed 😊
I have to say, I’m not sure I mastered my fears but it definitely didn’t feel as scary, once I was out, as I’d imagined it would!
I didn’t think of it like that, thank you for explaining 😊
Your welcome, I might take some time, but I do try to reply to everyone. I really appreciate people like you taking the time to write a comment. So thank you, too 😊🌞
@BrookAurora You're welcome Brook.
You soon get used to being solo! It's bliss 😊
Really enjoyed your video, look forward to more in the future 👍 take care
Thank you, glad you enjoyed 😊
Just stumbled across your video, lovely filming and lovely views ^_^
You did really well for you first solo, I bet you feel so much better for it now you've done it ^_^
well done 👍
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it 😊✨ yes defiantly, it’s something I’ve wanted to do for years, so feels amazing to have finally got out alone! 🌞
I really admire the women who are brave enough to do this ,its just wonderful ..I'd love to but to afraid ..thankyou for your advice.
This is such a gorgeous film - loved it! I'm planning on getting back into wild camping again after years (having a child can cramp your bivvying style 😂) and I am feeling quite nervous too. I'm going to start again late spring 2024 - allowing myself time to get more fit and accumulate the necessary gear. I've subscribed and look forward to more of your videos ❤
Thank you, glad you liked it! 😊 I can imagine it almost feels like the first time again after a long break from
it! Hahah yeah not sure you'd fit a child into a bivvy too 😂
Spring seems like a great time to start again 😊 good luck with it and thanks for subscribing! 🤍🌿✨
Hey, I got sent here from a random youtube reccomendation too and I'm glad I did. Great video, well shot and quite inspiring too, thank you!
Thank you, lovely to hear! And I’m glad you enjoyed it and found it inspiring 😊🌞✨
thank you sm for posting this. im doing my first camping trip since i was 16. Im now 21 and doing it solo tmr! Ive been really excited the past week but got a sudden wave of anxiety and I'm really glad I came across your video, its made me feel a lot better :)
Thank you, so lovely to get comments like yours 😊 I hope your wild camp went well and you enjoyed it and I’m glad this gave you come confidence 😊
Go for it Brook great to see you wild camping haste you back to
Bonnie Scotland 🏴🏴
Thank you Keith! We’re actually planning a little trip to Scotland in the autumn 😁🍂
Lovely video! And I can identify sooo much with your ideas and worries. It’s good to know we’re not alone… Thanks for motivating and inspiring 😃
Thank you! It’s nice to hear others think the same, sometimes I think my mind is just ridiculous 😄 and I’m really glad it’s inspiring 😊✨
Well done for facing your fears, very courageous to do so. As for the video it is simply beautiful felt myself relaxing the more I watched it so thank you for that, you also have a lovely clear voice. 😎
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and lovely to hear you found it relaxing 😊🌞🌿
@@BrookAurora People at work don't 'get' why I do it, I'm sure they think I'm a bit weird 🤣🤣🤣
Hahah they’re missing out! 😄 Camping is magical 😁✨
Random TH-cam recommendation sent me here but I loved it. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed it 😊🌞✨
Nothing short of a tremendous victory, very well done indeed & great videography too.
Well done, you conquered a fear and that is where the true magic of life lies, on the edge of a comfort zone.😊
Be proud of yourself
Yes I definitely agree, it can be so easy to stay in a comfortable space but you can loose out on a lot of experiences 😊 I’m definitely glad I pushed myself to do this! 😊✨
Congratulations Brook, very brave and amazing video 🤩
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 😁🌿✨
Beautifully put together, really enjoyed thanks
Thank you! 😊✨
Cool vid. Looked an awesome spot.✌🏻
Thank you! It is a lovely camp spot 😊✨
Happy weekend ,loved this with my hot chocolate ☕ debs xx ......
Thank you debs 😊 glad you enjoyed! 🌞🤍
@@BrookAurora My pleasure you have a lovely channel debs xx
So you probably could wander into the hills and camp 😊 I am from Wales 🏴
Thank you, really pleased to hear 😊
I am definitely more of a fan of the bivvy than a tent now, tarp camping is also something I’d like to try though!
Cheers
@TheFairway8 thank you 😊 ah yeah I can image there aren’t a lot of paces to wild camp in Kent! I use the Alpkit Elan hopped bivvy 😊
Brilliant video. You've inspired me to go wild camping again after 20 years. Also love the background music. What is it called?
I love your message and voiceover. Be safe. Think about getting a little camouflage netting to conceal your Bivy sack.Never camp on the crest of a hill where you will be silhouetted against the sky.
Thank you 😊 yeah I agree, I like to hide away when I can 😁
I really enjoyed this video! I'm about to turn 18 and have wanted to go solo wild camping for a while now, this has really helped me feel better about it, so thank you :)
Hello! Really happy to hear it’s helped you feel better about solo camping 😊 it really doesn’t feel as bad once your out and walking. Good luck when you get the chance to do it 😊🌞✨
Good video I enjoyed watching it very much 👋🙂👍
Thank you! 😊
One of my favourite videos of yours 😊
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊✨
Beautifully filmed, honest and a joy to watch.
Thank you for the tip, I had my knife ready but the torch is definitely a good idea!
Hahaha it is bad but I do have a bit of a soft spot for pot noodles 🤣🤣 thank you, really lovely to hear! Glad you like the music too 😁
It was scary but given me a lot more confidence to go solo more often now! 😊🌞🌿
Wot an absolute fabulous vlog, where have you been. Fantastic inner strength to finally go outside your comfort zone. More, more please. A wonderful voice, great spacing with your commentary, could you please tho make your on screen type a wee bit bigger letters. Let's go, you've got it, all the best.
Thank you very much! I’m glad you liked it 😁 yes I’ll keep the text in mind on my next edit 😊✨
