Hey man, I know your video is quite old, but I just wanted to say thanks for the help. I just updated my 6 year old rig with a GTX 1060 6GB, and I ran into this issue, and upon finding this, I realized I have never updated my BIOS. Anyway, this fixed my issue. Thank you so much.
I know it's not the most high quality video, and he can be a bit difficult to hear or understand sometimes, but I think if you can't parse enough information from the video, it may be too challenging and too much of a risk for you to attempt, you need to be 100% sure that you understand what it is that you're doing as you're taking a risk of damaging your computer. That being said, if you insist on doing this, I can try and describe the process. Get your machine running with your prior video set up or using the onboard video ports. You need to find your motherboard model and find the BIOS updates for it, make sure you get it from the official website of the manufacturer of your board. Get the most recent official update. Put the files onto a USB flash drive, leave the flash drive in your PC, reboot your PC and get into the BIOS, typically by pressing DEL (or an other specified key from your motherboard manufacturer) when the computer is first booting up. Once in the BIOS settings, run QFLASH. This let's your PC access your flash drive. Create a back up of your current BIOS in case you have downloaded the incorrect version of your BIOS, this may be pointless if you've downloaded a completely wrong BIOS and brick your board, but can come in handy if your new version just doesn't work for you. Run the new file that is named after your board and version, it will look something like Z77D3H.F22 (this is just an example after my board) Complete and you may need a restart, go back to the BIOS settings, find an option called "Load optimized defaults". Save and exit. Shut down the machine, and unplug the machine from it's power source. Properly install your new video card and hopefully it should work. You could also just bring your PC to a local computer shop, I am sure they would not charge much to do this for you if you're concerned about messing up or damaging your computer. Probably at most an hour of their hourly shop rate. It shouldn't take that long if they know what they're doing, but I think a shop may likely charge a minimum amount. Good luck!

I had changed my pc into a new case and for whatever reason my Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H wifi mobo would only launch windows without the gpu (GTX1070). After following all this to update my bios, I launched and worked perfectly. Pronojit is my new IT god now.

I think it's a bit too late for me to reply now, but I was thinking what might cause the issue and thought it has to be the motherboard, and since it was a motherboard all I could do was check for new bios update, and while looking I found the change-log for the newer bios which had the fix for the issue we all had, gigabite was aware of it and fixed it with the update.

ngô hương giang you put it in a flash drive and flash it with the qflash, which is like an inbuilt flashtool in bios.
make sure to reformat the USB to FAT32 as well. i made the mistake of using fat at first and thought there was no fix

How did you know you needed to upgrade to F9 from F7? I'm trying to figure out what version I would need for my mobo.
I think it was because of the "Fix BIOS Setup problem" that's why he chose f9 because it was written there.

This only works if you have a APU for onboard graphics.
As the title says, after you install a gpu, but if you have an old board, and are upgrading to a new cpu/apu, you can still update the bios.
