This whole setup is based on a Lenovo laptop, I am using a Lenovo g50-70 and Gtx 760 Graphics card as an example. But you can install it on any laptop with the correct settings and compatibility. Below are some settings for different laptops brand:

I tried to do this set up a while back before I just ended up building a desktop. If only I had known about disabling the PXE Boot to LAN. Fantastic tutorial nonetheless, and though it doesn't help me much now, the presentation was on point. Wish I had seen this a few years back. Well done.

hi, i followed your videos and was inspired. i have a lenovo g580 with 3rd gen i7, upgraded to 16 gb ram & connected a rtx 2070 super and results were amazing. i got 100 to 80 fps on an external monitor on ultra hd settings. just a tip, dont disable pxe setting in the bios, just disable the switchable graphics.
Where do you put the hdmi for the external monitor?

@@ajadler1629 Short answer: no. In theory its good idea but in reality ull have to find the perfect GPU match for your laptop. My friends never had the ones i needed so i could test it and i didn't wanted to waste money on buying used ones just to find out it ll not work. Even though i tested one GPU from the list and it didn't work. So i just gave up on gaming on laptop lol
This video is extremely informative, clearly a lot better than the Linus Tech Tips version of the topic. (sorry Linus) it makes me wish I never got rid of my older Dell laptop with a 3rd gen Intel i3 from I believe 2012 or 13 as I would love to see how it could perform

laptops are good for portability and if u wanna sit in one place and game for all day in the same price as a i3 4gb ram laptop for normal work if u pay a little bit like 50-100 dollars more u can build a pc with 8gb or 16gb a 2gb vram graphics card or 4gb vram like 1050 ti or rx 570 and gt 1030 and a i5 or ryzen 5 with 4 cores or 6 cores

this guy really explained the option of making a slit on the cover and leave it on!!! i have a dell latitude e6540 laptop and i have a wifi 6e card in use and an empty pcie slot from an msata ssd that dell no longer supports that i can use for the external gpu and i can still leave my wifi 6e card in and leave the pcie cable in for the gpu without removing anything!!! thanks
