ok so i bought this gigabyte gt710 2gb gddr5 and i had it for a week, today i unplugged the power cable from the pc and put it back cuz i moved the pc in another room and when i tried to start it it stars but no video signal is it cuz i have a weak psu? cuz i have a 200w psu and the recomended one for this gpu is 300w??? plss ssss help
@@tektronixhd6107 the worst thing that could happen if you push your pc with that 200 watts psu, it will break and if that psu is non 80+ certified one then it could damage other pc parts. The answer is yes and go and buy an 80+ certified psu, give at least 100 watts headroom
@@MacCoyzkie Hey . Love the video . I have a question. My gpu will randomly undetected by motherboard. Is it okay. Or it is a sign of over heating? Thankyou !
@@farizulizwan7397 glad you like it :) Usually the cause of that is pc full of dust, just try to clean it hopefully it will no longer be undetected. Unless you see those artifacts i think its fine
Thank you I have noticed some video stuttering. Now I have finally gotten the no signal on my monitor. Looks like graphic cards are very expensive right now. Thanks Keith
Appreciate the video. One small issue with the last tip about keeping PC near air conditioning. You're right it can introduce moisture, but not because cold air holds water. Cool air holds less moisture, but if your PC components are cold when introduced to a warm environment they will attract condensation from nearby warm air.
Greatly appreciate this video. I got some new RAM and that's when my GPU began to act up. I wouldn't have thought to check without this video. Ended up swapping RAM sticks w/ the GF so we both ended up upgrading memory, but now my Card doesnt act up (neither does hers w/ the RAM)
I have a other problem. My screen flickers randomly. I already updated my drivers and even rolled them back. Also uninstalled them and reinstalled. And it is still happening. I have a gtx 770
Plain, straight forward informational video that will give you a decent idea about the basics of gpu health and how it could be causing your PC system instability. My only criticism is the sad state of the availability (or at least the searchability) of user-sourced tech-help on the increasingly commercialized interwebz, but of course that isn't the fault of this author. 9/10-- would smash.
Even 87c is high if were talking about nvidia cards. My 3070 hardly goes above 75c during gaming...for old card users learn to replace thermal pads and thermal paste. Helps a lot.
Thank bro my video card has No display and i already clean the ram and the whole system but no display and i see this on youtube. I see the signs that you said thank you very much.
Damn I’ve been pointing my desk fan into my pc to help with temperatures for a long time now. I’m glad I saw this video. Hopefully the crashes don’t continue anymore. I’m also going to try and clean my pc bc I have some dust build up.
Hello, recently ran with some issues with my 1080Ti, Temps look fine, pretty good scores on benchmark, games work fine, but I get white screen after I'm done playing games or benchmarking. So everything is fine until I'm done with putting some stress on system.. could this be GPU problem too? I have fresh windows and the latest drivers.. I had same issue before windows reinstall
Can you still go to desktop or that white screen is stuck and you can’t do anything? If you cannot then I think you better use Rma already, and don’t tell the store you have done a stress test because they might void your warranty. Usually new gpu doesn’t go that way even if you stress test it but if that gpu is 2nd hand it is a different story. On the other-hand you can ask a friendwith compatible pc to try your gpu out. If problem persist then it is the gpu, if not it might be a failing drive or some other parts
I had my 3080 for a week before these symptoms started happening. Had the latest driver and even did a clean install. Every game would crash at the starting screen. Literally couldn’t even get to the main menu. The highest my gpu temperature ever got was 76. Couldn’t even run a benchmark without it crashing.
first can you clear cmos and here is how to th-cam.com/video/S9hyEPTFR10/w-d-xo.html then power your pc back on after. this is just to set your bios to default and it should run things in default settings. If your pc is just crashing i think this has something to do with some overclocks, particularly the rams. Unless you see those artifacts like in the video then your gpu is just fine but if you do after doing what i ask you to do, since it's just a week old gpu i suggest use Rma already
@@MacCoyzkie I will try that. My monitor was also cutting in and out like it was disconnecting but there was no disconnection sound. Black pixels and graphical glitches. Pc never crashed. Just games.
My pc shuts off randomly when i stream after like 3 hours of it running, you had me thinking its my graphics card but now i think its the power supply what do you think?
I appreciate tha video,7/8 of the whole video is what I'm suffering from,I first thought the video was made for me (of coarse not) thank you very much bro for these tips.
Operating your computer in an area where there is a lot of dust and dirt floating around in the air causes the heat sinks and the fans and everything else to accumulate a huge amount of dirt inside the computer which eliminates its ability to cool itself. We have even found pet hair in these places. If you quit using your computer when it starts giving trouble, clean it out carefully with a vacuum, double check all the connections everywhere including the board, and restart it, you may have no more troubles until it gets in this condition again. Just DO NOT ignore the problems. Do what is necessary to keep it in good condition.
Good video. My GPU isn't dying but it gives full memory warning during "meh" games like World of Tanks. Apparently 4 Gb on the Gtx 970 aren't enough in 2021.
My system has a gtx 970 and I am running it with a 500w psu, when I play heavy games it turns off suddenly. What can be the reason. Is it a problem with the psu or the vga
overheating, never let your cpu and gpu go beyond 90c or it will shut down to prevent more damage. Psu is fine i guess but there must always be a 100watts headroom with the total wattage of your entire system
@@thilaniruwanthika5215 then this must be the psu or the wall outlet is not giving enough power for the system. Only happens during power fluctuation but you can try your pc in a different room or house before we could totally blame the psu
Yep, I'm currently experiencing the "no signal" to monitor problem from my 2070 super which also causes the graphics card fans to start blowing loudly. Recently did a thorough cleaning without the static band (strike 1). Also have been playing a lot of Hogwarts Legacy and RE4 on high (strike 2) and have had an issue for a while now where all my fans, other than the cpu and graphics card fans, don't spin for some reason even though they light up (strike 3). I'm currently shopping around for a replacment but can't decide between RTX 4070, RX 6800XT or wait for RX 7800XT.
@@MacCoyzkie Update: I watched a video by Georgetech called "How To FIX Dead Graphics Card". Turns out my pci-e cable was the problem. Swapped it and it works fine now.
You dont have to be so cautious, i work with this stuff, your card is up for the task of running demanding games, and the static wristband is pretty much pointless, it is so hard to kill components through static shock. Youd be surprised the amount of abuse most PC parts can take.
I'm at stage 3. Guess I'm screwed. My 2080ti didnt last very long, and there's no supply of new GPU'S. Very unlucky time for this to happen. Thanks for the video though, it brought me closure at least
i'm sorry to hear about that bro, but can you give it a chance. ask a friend to try it out for you, if problem persist then it is already gone but if not this might just be a driver issue (might be corrupted during installation) or windows update
GPUs are extremely difficult to diagnose and fix. Not for armatures. Same applies to almost all other PC components. Parts are too small, fragile, and was laser soldered in factory. How many would have those equipment??? At that point, buying a new GPU is cheaper. Mine had green lines, dots, and no detection. Prior to it, fan was always blowing loud, and had random crash - this worked like this for a year! And when it finally gave up and displayed green lines, the VGA signal was just bypassing the board, and green lines and dots were showing; and PC would crawl like a sloth. Found some GPU fix videos on YT. Study them carefully. Disassembled, cleaned, reheat/reflowed the board with heat gun (use temp. gun to monitor not to exceed extreme temp.), reapplied thermal paste, assembled fan again. And it worked again!!! WOW. Saved $$$$. You can do it! Worth a try. Thanks for the video mate!
lol check ur power outlet too. Mine started turning off all the sudden today. I set everything to stock and it still crashed when i gamed or ran a stress test. got to looking at the power outlet thinking a drink might of got spilled on it and might went bad. i unplugged it to replace the outlet to find the plug burn and my outlet burnt.
me too actually but over time it is inevitable, even my rig right now has the same condition but i guess those silica gel helps somehow. Thanks for the feedback bro and yeah i will keep it up :)
@@MacCoyzkie I have 2 PCs one has an RTX 2060, and the other one, which is much older has an XFX Radeon R9 270A. Yeah the 270 ain’t great at 2GB, but I’m planning on putting an MSI Armor MK2 RX 580 8GB into it. I’ll probably have videos up on it at somepoint
I have this strange case. Rx570 8gb, heavily used for warzone and general purposes for almost two years without problems, except it sometimes in the past gave me some weird intermitent no-display/blackscreen problems (often paired with my system "power on" button also not working). The problem was an anedcote but recently it crept back again only more intense: I had a couple of total crashes in Warzone (followed by no display when booting the system). Weird thing is (like in the past) I have being able to bring back the card (just by cleaning the pc or sometimes doing absolutely nothing!) and even play some more Warzone (before it game a black screen and then a total system crash); also had it working even with two monitors just fine. I thought it was temp issue, but I recently changed the thermal paste (could be I didn´t put it right, but its unlikely)... What else could it be besides the card getting old or dying slowly? PSU, voltage problem? Now I´m running the game with my internal Rizen 3 3200 gpu, no problems (except for the lower performance of course)! lol
we could say its a power issue if your psu is not that reliable and has low wattage than the entire pc requires. Warzone updates often and this also causes upgrades in the game graphics requiring more gpu compute than usual. To know if you gpu is really failing i suggest have it tested in on of your friend's pcs
Thank you for your video 😊. I have been facing problem number3 (strange colored artifacts) with my new rx6800xt that I bought a week ago which I can trigger by pressing the Night light (blue light filter) button on the notification tab on the bottom right on windows 10. And it rarely happens in the lock screen when I turn on my pc. And all of these problems came from 2023 drivers and the newest still. I have noticed when I start recording from the amd software the artifacts disappeare and come back after I stop recording the desktop. Note, I used ddu and downgraded to an older driver from 2022 and thankfully the artifacts are gone, but any driver that released in 2023 will trigger artifacts. They will not appear in any games I play or when the gpu is stressed though.
glad its all good now, I am not sure myself why is it that nvidia in particular has this problem in their latest drivers. I did have some glitches in 144hz but not glitches in 120hz settings for some reason
Yeah I was searching around and could barely find any answers, well this video basically showed all my problems I'm having. I'll have to switch my 1070 out for my 1050. SAD DAYS!! let's hope that's all it is...I just built my new rig today and finished it.
Looks like my gpu is dying after multiple bad driver updates I feel like they broke my card .Even after clean installing previous versions my screen goes black for a few seconds to a few minutes , this specific case wasn‘t in the video but this with the green flickering is probably a dying card. Is 4 years an acceptable lifespan ?
@@MacCoyzkie No, i haven‘t even taken it out of the motherboard for the 4 years ,cleaning it didn‘t require removal. I had the black screen on boot because of drivers for months but now after testing different versions some kind of black screen/ flickering always reappeared . been having some stuttering and usually ends in permanent freezes in my gtx 950 and the only way I have to make it work again is restarting the computer and sometimes after that restart, the monitor doesn't give me a video signal. I already tested the ram and the psu and the problem is still persistent, the usual temperature of my gpu is around 60-65 C. Is that a sign of my gpu is dying?

My PC started to show no display at all with NVIDIA drivers installed. Strange thing is though is that the computer was working fine earlier this morning, but when I woke it up from sleep after a little break, the GPU refused to show any display. Went into safe mode and uninstalled the drivers, pc started to work fine now after that. I am thinking that my PSU killed my GPU… that’s not where it ends though. A week earlier my motherboard + 9700k started to not post after waking up from sleep. Constant red light on the motherboard. That was with the same PSU. If it’s truly the PSU, thank god it didn’t take out my motherboard + 13600kf. I would’ve been pissed if so (PSU is an EVGA 750w Gold)
you also need to consider what that steady light means, more info here th-cam.com/video/jtZcO7Q4yhA/w-d-xo.html you ca also double check the gpu by asking a friend to try it with their rig, evga rarely have issues but you can also check the stability of the psu using something like this th-cam.com/users/shortsYrC3PlflLq0
@@MacCoyzkie It was a red cpu light. I tried resetting CMOS and reseating ram/ trying new ram. It could be weird a motherboard/bios issue but idk. I still haven’t sold it for parts yet so maybe the CPU still works. The PSU is getting pretty old, so I am going to just replace it. GPU still has the warranty covered, so I am just going to sell the replacement as soon as it comes in.
I’ve been having problems recently with games running my card at stock speeds. The most I’ve done to it is an undervolt to get lower temps and that was working perfectly. Usually I don’t have the undervolt on when playing games cause I don’t really need it. Everything runs on it just fine, I tested every component individually to see what the problem was. Then, I ran 3d mark and Heaven on the gpu. Everything worked and I got my scores back which were good, but as soon as I launch a game it freezes after about 2 minutes and when I alt f4 to get back to the Home Screen, the taskbar is frozen so I can’t restart or go to task manager. I can do everything else on it like nothing, but recently all my games just stopped working altogether. I updated the bios, chipset drivers, did a clean install of my video drivers using DDU, cleaned temp files, ran a clean boot, I don’t get any screen tearing or dead pixels or anything. The games will either get stuck on a loading screen or during gameplay just freeze forever. Even roblox can sometimes get a crash, Assassins Creed Origins won’t even start up anymore and the only game that seems to work perfectly without errors is Minecraft.
@@MacCoyzkie update: I realize the problems were never coming from the GPU. After swapping the GPU and uninstalled the drivers, the problem happened but a few minutes later. Same problem continued. I now realize that it is the CPU causing the issues with freezing.
@@MacCoyzkie upon further inspection I’ve found that there was a tiny bit of thermal paste that got on the underside of the cpu and into one of the pin sockets was filled with a little paste. After cleaning both the CPU and the socket with alcohol and drying it with compressed air. The problems in a few games have gone away completely.
Two things that I've been experiencing is how sometimes for like a fraction of a millisecond is when I'm hovering over things with my mouse, my cursor becomes a glitchy version of itself. Another thing is that sometimes, my screen goes black, I hear a device disconnecting sound, and then the device inserted sound plays before the screen returns to normal. Anything on that?
@@MacCoyzkie I sadly don't know anyone where I can just casually send any parts to for testing. But if it helps, on the latter one (black screen for a few moments), it doesn't happen _daily,_ far from it. It only happened...3-4 times overall in the 3 years I've owned my current PC.
You stil have this problem? Try update drivers for ur usb ports, driver for ur desplay ports etc or you can try update bios. My dad had the same problem and it was a driver problem.
I'm having stuttering issues like you showed in the first one after few hours of gaming even after switching off games it still seemed to occur any way to prevent this my pc is malware free and the ram is good also changed my power supply very recently
try clearing cmos so your pc would run in default settings. This stuttering may also caused by an old hdd or thumb drive that is currently plugged in your pc

I never had any problems with my 1660 until last week, it’s been overheating a lot more often whenever I play apex legends or overwatch and I’ve never had this problem for the past 6 months. It’s been going over 60 degree Celsius and I experience frame drops in game. Any options to help fix that?
i think 60c is normal. any higher than 85c is dangerous in my opinion. use msi afterburner and set your fan curve a bit higher than usual and open pc case during gaming
my 1660 at 99% on NFS HEAT doesn't go over 55... common issue with the 1660 is one of the fans that stop. Try cleaning it out first for dust. If that doesn't work, further diagnose the cooling.
My friend bought an used 1080, it averaged 60c-95c while gaming, you should try changing the thermal paste, something like arctic mx 5, it dropped his temps down to 40c!

hey, so not sure if you're still answering comments, but the problems on my end started like 2 days ago and got progressively worse. I have the EXACT same screen stuttering that you showed at the beginning. It first started while playing games and suddenly just going crazy. After a quick restart and reboot of the game it happened again after like 10 minutes of play. I also have to mention that this stuttering only showed up during gaming after the latest Driver update which I had done the day before. So I reinstalled my drivers and did all that stuff, and after a fresh restart, the screen would stutter without a bit of gaming, and stuttered right on start up (ROG logo was also affected). I did some screen configuration in my monitor settings that seemed to make it less, but nothing stopped it. So it first started on 144 hz similar to your video only during games, then started doing that on start up, and after i switched to 120/60 hz it would be fine. It shortly after startedd flickering on 120hz as well. Thats when i decided to reboot the PC on a different DP slot and it wouldn't start at all and just be a black screen, my MB gave the error code of no output device. It would basically only start on 1 DP port if I shut it down in 144 hz. but when i switch the cable while its on, the screen would work on each, although having the same issues with stuttering on 144/120 as the other ports. HDMI the same. so I then took out my GPU and did a complete teardown and even washed the heatsinks (because im a perfectionist ^.^) nothing seemed broken or burnt or damaged in any form. did new thermal paste and connector cleans, Switched my PCIE cable slot on my Powersupply (not the cable itself, i do have a 2nd one tho) and tried again. same shit. 144 hz is basically unusable and you can hardly see the desktop. I did have some weird changes after changing monitor settings where i would not have as many flickers on the settings page, but it would go completely bonkers on the desktop screen. 60 herz is completely fine and everything works on that end and on every slot. its only once i apply 120/144 hz where the monitor flickers this white matrix text. I'm unsure if its my GPU, my DP cable, RAM, PCie slot/connector/cable or my Display. I've heard of regular stutters from my Monitor manufacturer, and only found this videos example of screen stuttering to fit my case, sice ive never experienced any other form of graphical artifacts on my screen apart from this one occasion. I hope you can give me some insight as to what is causing this with the information i've given. my specs are: I have a Founders RTX 3060ti 8gb (bought in december 2020) Intel Core i7-10700KF CPU @ 3.80GHz Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD Monitor ROG STRIX Z490-E Gaming MB Noctua NH-D15 chromax black Cooling system ( which makes me doubt overheating ) RM 750x Corsair power supply and 16 gigs of DDR4 Gigabyte RAM Windows 10 pro OS the game in question that fried my system was World of Warcraft DF prepatch events. Edit: I have run 2 GPU benchmarks with Unigine Heaven benchmark on 60hz and 144hz respectively. Exactly the same performance on both benchmakrs, under 70 C heat (hovering around 64-69) in both cases and below 200watt usage. GPU clock at ~ 1950 mhz and memory clock at ~ 7001 mhz with 70-200 fps the only difference between the two being the heavy stutters and flashes on 144hz. wouldnt a fried GPU indicate some sort of difference in consistency with glitches and fragments with different levels of usage? aka My desktop stutters just as much as a high quality benchmark. I am praying to god that its not my GPU.. but my display is an expensive piece too so either way my pockets are getting a hole this christmas again. No overclocking, no special shinanigans done with my set up. Plug and play essentially. I did configure a fan cooling program to slow down or speed up at certain power points and regularly monitor my CPU and GPU heat levels. I never had any sort of issues with cooling or GPU performance before. Would be happy with a reply and some insight, other than that, have a lovely day.
try to DDU the current gpu driver, here's how to th-cam.com/video/SvIJhcxZTsA/w-d-xo.html then just install the latest. Also double check if windows are updated. If you can also try the gpu in a friend's rig and see if it has the same result. if it does then the gpu might be really the problem

I have a laptop, and the problem with it is a month back or so it started crashing with similarly weird glitches to the screen visually, but it will just completely freeze my laptop and I have to shut it down. I have some pictures that I wish to show but right now I’m on my ipad and I only have access to email, which I don’t see in your socials so I can’t show you the photos of the glitches stuff itself. (It also sometimes blue screens, but most of time it just does the weird glitches) I had tried resetting my laptop like 4 times but nothing fixed other than losing everything I’ve ever done in the past 4 years. After that I went to a repair lab near my home and the person said it’s probably something to do with the graphics card that’s why the resetting wasn’t working and it’ll cost a lot of money to fix so I’d be better off buying a new laptop. But I have hardly any savings and my mum doesn’t know about what’s happening yet because she’ll kill me if we’ll need to buy a new laptop. I tried uninstalling and installing my NVIDIA GeForce MX110 driver using a DDU and downloading from the NVIDIA website, but no luck. Help, my mum is going to need to use my laptop soon so I need to figure out a way to fix everything. Neither me nor my mum knows anything about pcs and laptops so I’ve no clue what’s happening. These days I can’t even open google chrome without the crashing happening… Please help, I’m in a rather desperate situation and I really need to know what is the problem, maybe you can try to identify the problem? (Again, if you need the pictures, I can give it no problem, just that I can only give via email using this ipad that has restrictions that’s why my mum can’t use my ipad, but you didn’t put any email in your socials…) Btw this actually happened to an old PC we used to have, but with a different graphic glitch, though still same thing crashes my pc and I have to shut it down, and eventually we just disconnected everything to save space…
Remember all laptops has a lifespan, usually 3-5 years, if it died in less than 3 years that laptop is poorly made. if it died after 4 years, its not bad at all. Technology updates every year and demanding more workload from your laptop/pc. This demands happens in every windows update. The most important thing you should do right now is the backup all those important files. You mentioned you were able to ddu the gpu driver right? meaning you can still go to desktop. now what i need you to do is go to safe mode. As soon as you enter desktop hold shift key and restart your pc. this will bring you to safe mode and you will be able to backup all your files from there without crashing. the reason why I am asking you to back your files up because your laptop is about to go or not but we just need to be prepared, this is either a graphic card issue or you just need to replace the C: drive or you just need to reinstall windows 10 As soon as you back all those important files, your files and your mom's files then try reinstalling a clean windows 10. Btw chrome eats a lot of memory, if your laptop has less than 8gb ram and you are opening a lot of tabs then it is inevitable that your pc will slow down and crash eventually. I suggest for now use edge at the moment
@@MacCoyzkie Mm yes, I definitely still have all my files after resetting my laptop 4 times before consulting you…I think I gotta skip that step, I lost everything so well that sucks oh well it’s gone now so I’ll have to deal with it. Do I have to go to a repair shop to fix it or if it’s unfixable then I’ll just have to buy a new laptop? (If it’s unfixable then I’ll just have to spill the beans to my mum ;-; Also, how does the graphic card die, is it because of me or is it just because it usually deteriorates over time, pretty sure I’m going to have to tell my mum whether it’s my fault or it’s just normal) - I also don’t know how to replace the C: drive ;-; - I’m pretty sure I reinstalled windows 10 every time I resetted my laptop though, but I guess I’ll reinstall windows 10, just that me being the stupidly clueless atom-sized brain idiot, I don’t know how to 😭 (btw my laptop’s been trying to get me to upgrade to windows 11, do you think doing that will help with my situation, and how will it help, or I should just go for it just because it’s upgraded and perhaps better windows lol) Hm, the chrome one is making sense in a way that recently me just trying to open google chrome makes my laptop get the glitch crash thing, which may be a coincidence or maybe it’s a definite reason why my laptop is glitch crashing, so sure I’ll use Edge for now Sorry for requiring so much help, I’m rather clueless when it comes to PC and laptop stuff (I don’t even have a phone at the age of 15 going 16 this year lol) and I find online TH-camrs like you more reliable than repairmen in repair shops because uhhh yes, unless you need me to actually go to one to fix the graphic card then I’ll heed your advice no problem!
most laptops graphics card are soldered in the motherboard of the laptop, meaning if it breaks, everything is broken. this is the downside of using laptop. Yes it is portable and easy to carry but when something like this happens it is difficult to replace or fix unlike desktop PC. So basically there is no way to fix that by yourself. you need to take it to a local shop that knows what they are doing. Stay with windows 10, windows 11 requires higher specs and if your laptop is 4 years old, i don't think it can handle it. Also windows 11 has a lot of graphics issues, it will make your problem worst that it is already. Btw resetting windows is different from clean windows installation, clean windows installation means you'll format everything, this is why i was asking you to back up your files before doing it. You can start by creating a usb windows installer, here's how to th-cam.com/users/shortshC_3orfAmf4 I just got one more advice i can give you, technology is rising and its not going down anytime soon. It is also a part of life in this generation so i suggest learn a thing or two. so the next time you'll buy a laptop or pc it'll last longer than it should. Like my old pc that still working up until now. Here's my old pc instagram.com/p/BNGwFrOAyMe/? and its already 8 years old, i gave it to my dad and he's still using it

My GTX 1650ti sometimes leaves small traces of things in (high graphics) games, for example, if I play a FPS game and look down really fast I can see a small out line of the gun, like some weird traces of ghost clone thing

I’ve been experiencing a bit of an issue. In my particular case, while browsing on the web or gaming, my PC will often times become unresponsive and freeze, and it’s usually after the audio begins to stutter. I’m not quite sure what is the problem on my end and I can’t pinpoint if it’s indeed a software issue or a hardware issue as switching the audio to a different source stops the stuttering audio and the subsequent crash that follows it.
from the sound of it i think it has something to do with a very old hdd, you can know more about this here th-cam.com/video/STEsMGJGw78/w-d-xo.html or check the quicker version shorts videos i made for this issue here th-cam.com/users/shortshu_y-nnrCNk

It's actually not good to have your pc case open when you are gaming. The case being closed will direct the airflow through the case, and therefore, over the components you need to cool. Otherwise, those fans inside will just blow or suck air around itself, and not necessarily direct the airflow over your important parts
depends on what pc case model, i have this for instance, th-cam.com/users/shorts3lgUuEKEW5U and airflow is terrible so i have to open it whenever i play games
yes! if its still under warranty you have no problem. If they ask you how it started? tell them you are just working normally then it happened. some local store will not replace it if its your fault lol

Im not sure if i should ask laptop related issues but eh might as well do. Or the charging adapter? Edit- I tried DDU I tried clean windows install as well Didn't fix the issue
if you are in windows 11, that o.s has a lot of graphics issues that's why its really difficult for me to recommend it. sadly windows 10 is still better for games. if you are in windows 10 already then yes this might be a hardware failure specifically power issues either the charger or the battery for low fps, you need to consider the game title too specially if its an online game since game developers always update their game to work best for the new gen hardware releases in 2023
so basically you are using the i5 10400 with the rx 550? if you tried in both system and see all the artifacts i think that is already a gpu issue. On the other hand this could just be a driver issue so double check your driver, amd latest driver most of the time are buggy so better use a driver version that was already working fine
Sorry if this post is longer, but it's better to explain in detail. Hi, I've been running a EVGA GTX 1070 SC GAMING AVX3.0 with a R7 3700X w/ stock Wraith Prism cooler, EVGA GQ 650 PSU and all in a solid airflow case, the Phanteks P400A, this is what I've been using until late March of this year. On a Saturday evening I've been streaming some Assetto Corsa on Discord to my friend while chatting and he did mention it's stuttery on his end while I had above 60fps at 1440p, while modded and cranked the graphics even further than possible on the vanilla experience, so I just swapped from app streaming to window and my entire PC has crashed and pressing the button wouldn't switch it back on. So, I panicked a bit and went "ok, time to turn off the PSU", so I went away for a minute and came back after that and turned the PSU on again. Big mistake that was, because once I did and pressed the power button on the case, PC booted but the GPU sent out a spark right from the middle. Extra panicked so I turned the PSU off again. I took out the GPU which was pretty hot, but not burning hot as far as I remember - probably still hot from when the PC crashed during gaming. I took it apart, smelt a burning only on the only thermal pad located on the backplate in the mid, but nowhere else. When I examined the PCB on it closely again the next day, no part is burnt or shows any actual damage from where it came from as the capacitors, VRMs and every other small chip or component looks clean or is gooey from the silicon thermal pad at most, which is not conductive. And again, no smell coming from other parts when I took it apart that evening. Now, I'm using the PC with a 1050 Ti my friend sent me from another country, so I have no idea whether my GPU can still work. I do understand that even if nothing shows visual damage, there is potentially some sort of damage, yet I just am confused on what to do. A year ago I had a bizarre issue after I updated my motherboards BIOS, where the GPU wouldn't let the fans spin at more than 470 RPM, which resulted in the GPU getting super hot to about 93°C. That thankfully I managed to fix by some strange way, which while examining I did manage to force the fans to spin through OC software at least, but I do doubt that had an actual effect on the current issue since that happened more than 9 months prior. Before you tell me it could be overheating, I have overlays on while playing games and I do clean the PC from time to time from the dust buildup and the GPU disassembly revealed barely any, just small lump here and there, but overall I have the temps under control when it comes to GPU/CPU cores - GPU has no other sensor than for the core to check the temps though.
my first concern was the "GPU sent out a spark" the only time i experienced that one is when i made a mistake plugging a non 80+ certified defective psu to a system. A very expensive mistake btw. Another thing is the bios update, I usually suggest to my viewers to update bios only when changing a cpu specially those guys that are using amd lineup. Wrong bios could also mess things up. But your problem only happened when you switch app to windows which i think the workload spiked for some reason causing more power requirements. I never experience this but i would suggest things to do so you could figure things out. We couldn't say that the 1070 is gone unless we test it out with a different rig, ask a friend with compatible pc to try your gpu or at a local store. if the problem is the same then i guess the gpu is done already. If it worked then you might need to buy a UPS or AVR because one of the things that causes events like this is power fluctuation from wall outlet. Having a ups or avr could prevent this from damaging pc parts by sacrificing itself during such circumstances.
@@MacCoyzkie Yeah, about the spark... that has never happened to me in my entire life on multiple budget PCs we've had at home while growing up. Even an old prebuilt with an C2D E7300, ATI HD4850 and a 350W PSU of unknown brand has never caused a fire or a spark. I'm pretty sure you've checked that it's a 80+ Gold rated PSU that I'm using right now - which I picked out from a PSU tier list on LTT forums about 3 years ago. I'm also aware when it comes to the BIOS updates, but in case of Ryzen, they are required a bit more since they do the microcode updates to improve CPU on the AM4 platform via AGESA. Removing CMOS and downgrading the BIOS, the issue persisted with the fans issue on the GPU, fiddling with combination of Nvidia drivers and using Windows restore point, I somehow fixed that at least. Whether it was truly a BIOS issue or something else that was causing it on Windows itself, I have no clue anymore. I've been thinking of finding a store since my friends mostly use laptops now only or they don't game anymore. UPS/AVR is a solid idea for the future, but for now I'll probably swap out the PSU and hopefully get enough for a decent GPU upgrade since I don't want to stick with a 1050 Ti for very long and currently on a job hunt prevents me from getting anything expensive, even a UPS. I'll have a look at the way I have things plugged in my small room despite not using much that could cause actual issues - TV, PS4, router and two monitors, speakers and the PC itself with occasional phone charger.
when you use it make sure to unplug the fan cables from the gpu board, if the fans spins so much it could generate electricity and can cause damage to the gpu itself

Any update?
Glad i can help bro! no problem
lol check ur power outlet too. Mine started turning off all the sudden today. I set everything to stock and it still crashed when i gamed or ran a stress test. got to looking at the power outlet thinking a drink might of got spilled on it and might went bad. i unplugged it to replace the outlet to find the plug burn and my outlet burnt.
bro you really saved me today
thx alot
My graphic card rusted and I stay in dry condition !!! What can I do to further prevent this from happening again? Also keep up the work man ❤️
me too actually but over time it is inevitable, even my rig right now has the same condition but i guess those silica gel helps somehow. Thanks for the feedback bro and yeah i will keep it up :)
Open the case and use house fan to increase airflow. It's a good idea to put a small dehumidifier near your PC.
WD-40
Please don't actually take my advice lol
My first GPU that died would randomly freeze, and the whole screen would have these thick black deformed lines and green artifacts everywhere.

To know if you gpu is really failing i suggest have it tested in on of your friend's pcs
hello. did u resolve this issue? experiencing the same... sad

Looks like my gpu is dying after multiple bad driver updates I feel like they broke my card .Even after clean installing previous versions my screen goes black for a few seconds to a few minutes , this specific case wasn‘t in the video but this with the green flickering is probably a dying card. Is 4 years an acceptable lifespan ?
if it's in heavy workload i guess it's fine but usually at least 5 or 6 years will be good. Have you tried it with other pc and got the same result?
@@MacCoyzkie No, i haven‘t even taken it out of the motherboard for the 4 years ,cleaning it didn‘t require removal. I had the black screen on boot because of drivers for months but now after testing different versions some kind of black screen/ flickering always reappeared . Totally agree
I would’ve been pissed if so (PSU is an EVGA 750w Gold)
you also need to consider what that steady light means, more info here th-cam.com/video/jtZcO7Q4yhA/w-d-xo.html
you ca also double check the gpu by asking a friend to try it with their rig, evga rarely have issues but you can also check the stability of the psu using something like this th-cam.com/users/shortsYrC3PlflLq0
@@MacCoyzkie It was a red cpu light. I tried resetting CMOS and reseating ram/ trying new ram. It could be weird a motherboard/bios issue but idk. @@jameyt1 cpu might just need reseating, if you already done that then it might be the bios update needed, this will depend on the specs though
Even roblox can sometimes get a crash, Assassins Creed Origins won’t even start up anymore and the only game that seems to work perfectly without errors is Minecraft.
don't you think it's because of the undervolted settings? how about resetting the bios to default?
@@MacCoyzkie it still crashes at stock speeds. But I will try to reset the bios.
@@MacCoyzkie update: I realize the problems were never coming from the GPU. After swapping the GPU and uninstalled the drivers, the problem happened but a few minutes later. Same problem continued. I now realize that it is the CPU causing the issues with freezing.
@@MrTheMan001 oh shoot, cpu is expensive. is there a way that you could test that cpu out in a different motherboard, perhaps a friend who is willing?
This stuttering may also caused by an old hdd or thumb drive that is currently plugged in your pc

open your case and use house fan to cool down the PC interior. It's rare for my RX 570 to go above 70 C with full load.
So if my games themselves are micro stuttering but not like number 1 so my gpu is fine I’m assuming
sometimes it just needed a driver update

hey, so not sure if you're still answering comments, but the problems on my end started like 2 days ago and got progressively worse.
I hope you can give me some insight as to what is causing this with the information i've given.
my specs are:
I have a Founders RTX 3060ti 8gb (bought in december 2020)
Intel Core i7-10700KF CPU @ 3.80GHz
Viewsonic VX2758-2KP-MHD Monitor
ROG STRIX Z490-E Gaming MB
Noctua NH-D15 chromax black Cooling system ( which makes me doubt overheating )
RM 750x Corsair power supply
and 16 gigs of DDR4 Gigabyte RAM
Windows 10 pro OS
the game in question that fried my system was World of Warcraft DF prepatch events.

(It also sometimes blue screens, but most of time it just does the weird glitches)
I had tried resetting my laptop like 4 times but nothing fixed other than losing everything I’ve ever done in the past 4 years.
These days I can’t even open google chrome without the crashing happening…
Please help, I’m in a rather desperate situation and I really need to know what is the problem, maybe you can try to identify the problem? (Again, if you need the pictures, I can give it no problem, just that I can only give via email using this ipad that has restrictions that’s why my mum can’t use my ipad, but you didn’t put any email in your socials…)
Btw this actually happened to an old PC we used to have, but with a different graphic glitch, though still same thing crashes my pc and I have to shut it down, and eventually we just disconnected everything to save space…
As soon as you enter desktop hold shift key and restart your pc. this will bring you to safe mode and you will be able to backup all your files from there without crashing.
the reason why I am asking you to back your files up because your laptop is about to go or not but we just need to be prepared, this is either a graphic card issue or you just need to replace the C: drive or you just need to reinstall windows 10
As soon as you back all those important files, your files and your mom's files then try reinstalling a clean windows 10.
- Anyways, if it’s graphic card issue then how do I fix it? Do I have to go to a repair shop to fix it or if it’s unfixable then I’ll just have to buy a new laptop? (If it’s unfixable then I’ll just have to spill the beans to my mum ;-; Also, how does the graphic card die, is it because of me or is it just because it usually deteriorates over time, pretty sure I’m going to have to tell my mum whether it’s my fault or it’s just normal)
- I also don’t know how to replace the C: drive ;-;
- I’m pretty sure I reinstalled windows 10 every time I resetted my laptop though, but I guess I’ll reinstall windows 10, just that me being the stupidly clueless atom-sized brain idiot, I don’t know how to 😭 (btw my laptop’s been trying to get me to upgrade to windows 11, do you think doing that will help with my situation, and how will it help, or I should just go for it just because it’s upgraded and perhaps better windows lol)
Hm, the chrome one is making sense in a way that recently me just trying to open google chrome makes my laptop get the glitch crash thing, which may be a coincidence or maybe it’s a definite reason why my laptop is glitch crashing, so sure I’ll use Edge for now
Sorry for requiring so much help, I’m rather clueless when it comes to PC and laptop stuff (I don’t even have a phone at the age of 15 going 16 this year lol) and I find online TH-camrs like you more reliable than repairmen in repair shops because uhhh yes, unless you need me to actually go to one to fix the graphic card then I’ll heed your advice no problem!
most laptops graphics card are soldered in the motherboard of the laptop, meaning if it breaks, everything is broken. this is the downside of using laptop.
You can start by creating a usb windows installer, here's how to th-cam.com/users/shortshC_3orfAmf4
I just got one more advice i can give you, technology is rising and its not going down anytime soon. It is also a part of life in this generation so i suggest learn a thing or two. so the next time you'll buy a laptop or pc it'll last longer than it should. My gpu has started to shut down for no reason recently while gaming and im not sure what exactly causes it. I have latest drivers and definetly enough psu power. My gpu is 1080ti, its around 1 years old, use 2 monitors, my main is 280hz and second is 144hz, average temp while playing is 70°- 78°
Also no overclock
it's difficult to say what is up in that situation then but for now let's clear cmos, here's how to th-cam.com/video/S9hyEPTFR10/w-d-xo.html
Im not sure if i should ask laptop related issues but eh might as well do.
Laptop user here.I've been facing problems during gaming such as:
-usually i play my games while plugged in.The issue i've been facing is that the games face sudden fps drops frequently.I've set settings at best performance, max priority, these didn't fix shit
-I used msi afterburner while gaming and strangely my Nvidia gpu was running 100%,but the its power reading was always 0Watt.
-I tried gaming while unplugged, the issues i face just disappear.I plugged in again, they come back.
- in fact I tried playing on my igpu instead of the nvidia one,it does better performance than the nvidia one
So is there's an issue with the gpu? Or the charging adapter?
Edit-
I tried DDU
I tried clean windows install as well
Didn't fix the issue
if you are in windows 11, that o.s has a lot of graphics issues that's why its really difficult for me to recommend it. sadly windows 10 is still better for games.
if you are in windows 10 already then yes this might be a hardware failure specifically power issues either the charger or the battery
for low fps, you need to consider the game title too specially if its an online game since game developers always update their game to work best for the new gen hardware releases in 2023
I recently got a prebuilt with a rx 550 and i5 2500 (i now have i5 10400F and a b460m a pro) but i have been experiencing every single one of these
so basically you are using the i5 10400 with the rx 550? if you tried in both system and see all the artifacts i think that is already a gpu issue.
@@DaWolfetrax i guess a local store is the only choice to test the gpu, anyway i hope its still fine. gpus are very expensive
@@MacCoyzkie Indeed, they are. And thank you, I sure hope so too.
What about canned air? Can that be used to blow off dust or is there a risk of damaging GPU?

Hi, I came across your video when trying to find the problem with my computer and I wonder if you could help.
My computer acts normal for a certain amount of time, and then screen will go off, the computer will make a noise like a fan noise so I took the side off to have a look and it seems like the noise is coming from the graphics card and it feels like the fan on graphics card is going very fast. So the screen goes off but the computer remains on until I switch it off.
Have not had any luck solving this problem yet!
Any advice appreciated! Thanks!

My card is acting up, at least I think it’s my GPU, games I was once able to run without issue are now having terrible texture pop in, some games the trees are just 2D sprites and if you get closer sometimes there is multiple single texture layers but it looks terrible. Textures are all blended and mostly trees look off. It’s really bad for the few games I play, it makes it very hard to see other players beside a tree that’s far away because the tree is like x5 bigger and just a big flat texture.
try this th-cam.com/video/SvIJhcxZTsA/w-d-xo.html
So my FPS drop when my gpu is at 100%. On the other hand, when it uses 100% cpu FPS is fine. Is it safe to say my GPU is dying?
did you plug your monitor in the gpu port? anyway to answer your question, that is a no. More likely its just a driver issue, just update it and update windows too
