    This is a great video. Well demonstrated. I've done this more then a few times. It really is just this easy. But to those that watched and reading the comments... The Styrofoam barrier is actually very vital to put back in place. Be careful when removing. Its also a vapor barrier as water on the road when it rains can make its way through the door jambs and into the door without this barrier in place. Just removed with a razor blade starting at the top. And I strongly suggest keeping the very bottom in tack and don't cut.

      Using a Razor Blade is the best advice!

    This video was very helpful . I don’t usually fix anything in my car but the detailed explanation in this video encouraged me to try . I mangled the first regulator I bought but got it right the second time. Total cost was under $80. Thank you very much!
    I want to add a comment about the position of the clip on the regulator. It was on the wrong side of the motor and therefore I couldn’t install the regulator after I re-fitted the motor . The clip can’t be moved manually . I powered the window glass motor and using the window switch on the driver side door inched the clip to the right position .

    I went ahead and saved few bucks just by replacing green plastic and wire which I got off ebay. Keep it up ☺️

    Great video and helped me fixed the regulator. There might be an issue that if you push the window all the way up that it might drop and shatter (this is the case for the front windows), I would recommend pushing the window up and tape it so that i stays in place. This might not be a problem, but thanks a lot for posting this!

      This just cost me $514.00 to have replaced by a mechanic. It would have cost 40% more at the dealer... at least. I could have done this myself. Great Video!

      Glad it worked out for you! Just FYI, sometimes you may have to hook a scanner and reset the window stops. If the window acts funny. That's what you need to do.

    Thanks for this helpful video man. It worked for my 2006 BMW 325i. Only problem is when I use the auto raise function from the drivers' seat the window rolls all the way up then backs down again halfway.

      You need a scanner to have it re-learn the maximum up and down

      Had same issue but just used rear electric window button to shift up/down little bit at a time until it reached the top for it to reset.
      Seems to have worked.

    I wish you would’ve shown what the problem was. My window won’t budge, and I’m not sure if this is the problem. When I try your lower it or accidentally try and raise it, all I here is shifting like if you were to lower a shattered glass window. Of course it isn’t shattered.

    • @InitechAuto
      @InitechAuto  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem was the window would not roll up. It would just make a lot of noise. Take your door panel off and take a look. This is a very common problem for these vehicles.

    Hey, so I bought a different regulator than the one in this video, and to fit it I needed to take out the black styrofoam piece right next to the window motor. I was wondering if the the styrofoam piece is important?

    • @InitechAuto
      @InitechAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A2K it’s mostly a sound barrier. Not a big deal if you can’t find one. And it helps against moisture also.

  • @ignacioromero5014
    @ignacioromero5014 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the motor already know the stop and start limits relative to the bottom of the glass?

    • @InitechAuto
      @InitechAuto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, You will need a scanner to reset the limits. There is a way to do it manually but I have never tried it. Do a search on the net for that.

  • @Mustafacelik-vd7uz

    You said that before "You need a scanner to have it re-learn the maximum up and down". Can u explain ?

    • @InitechAuto
      @InitechAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The BCM (Body Control Module) does not recognize the new window regulator and has to relearn its max travel points. With a scanner, it is quick and easy to reprogram the BCM. I believe there is a way to do it without a scanner. But I have never tried it. Look on the internet for help with this.

    • @InitechAuto
      @InitechAuto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The BCM has to relearn the max up and down settings.
