The way the kid looks and dresses looks like he just dropped in from the 1970’s. The only thing missing would be Lynard Skinner playing on the radio
Nothing wrong with that.
Simple Man…
Obviously not a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan or you'd know how to spell the name. I call BS and FAKE!
DUDEZILL!, I TOTALLY agree with ya!!!! Ronnie, Steve , and Cassie are spinning in their graves right now....@@glennstatham960
The AMC hubcaps definitely are trash (any hubcrap is trash)
Good channel no music just plain wrenching budget restoration that we can all relate to....no bullshit.... well done young man....
And no daily V logs that no one cares about. This channel is so good 👍
The days when you could actually sit in the engine bay. Loved the size of these trucks.
I don't know how old you are but you remind me of being 18 working in the drive way fixing cars. So happy to see kids these days doing this. You're going places with that can do attitude. Keep it up.
I love this kid. I love the lack of boisterous, voiceover narration. I love the lack of stupid loud, dramatic music. I wish you had an Amazon wishlist. I’d buy him a proper shop vac. Leave the house vacuum in the house! In an age, when many people get free money from the government for protesting anything, this kid has next to nothing and has 10 times the motivation even in cold weather. I never had kids my own, but this is my son.
My first vehicle was a white 1978 F 150, long bed truck. I drove that truck in high school 1981-1984.
My grandfather had a '78 Ford F-250 camper special, with the round headlights most of my life. It was his work vehicle. He was a programmer, but often did side work and he purchased and renovated several old properties over his life. My grandfather is notoriously bad at maintaining his vehicles, and I don't ever recall him working on that truck. Never once failed to start or left him stranded. Unfortunately, once he retired the truck sat in my families yard for years and rotted badly. By the time i was driving age i asked if i could have the truck to restore for myself, but it was so rusted underneath it wasnt worth saving. Always loved this style of Ford though. Beautiful design. Great video.
Love your videos. No useless banter just teaching by doing and watching.
Just watched two videos of yours for the first time, already a huge fan. Great work and great videos. Keep it up man!
Hey Brother, I'm dealing with Military PTSD and effects from radiation from throat cancer. I truly enjoy your videos, they help me a lot with my mental. Ty 😊
Thank you, best wishes for your health.
Redid my ‘79.. best investment I ever made absolutely love it ..runs great.,👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
I restored a 79 loved that thing, took 2 years got! Got it off a farm, this brings back memories!❤
Hey Simon that was really awesome how the motor started after the second ignition spark. The oldest F150 were increible trucks, thank for share it!
My man just pressure washed the inside of his truck cab. I love it.
I'm blown away somebody your age even knows what a "3 on the tree" is, better yet drive one like it's second nature!!! Glad to see old school rarities won't be completely lost. Keep up the amazing videos.
Nice work there! I have a 78 the same color, it's great to see a young man take some interest in saving the old iron. 😊
Good video! Love mine. Even though mines a 79 with the 351. Inside and out, they’re the same trucks. Thanks for sharing.
Just timeplusmoneylotsofpatiants❤😂
Gotta love the forty miles of speaker wire
I can't wait to get my hands on one of these trucks. Love the no commentary.
Derek from @vicegripgarage would be proud!
Vice grip garage is all commercialised sponsored shit for profit
Felicitaciones. Sos un genio que con tan poco y mucha dedicacion y cariño le devolves la vida a lo clasico. Camionetas hechas para toda la vida. Saludos desde Argentina.
This is amazing. I hope someday i can have the opportunity and knowledge to do this. Its also so kind that your doing it for a neighbor!
Been there with the break booster pin! What a PIA, I fought with it too. Good stuff, have a 78 f150 long bed custom, love it..!
Love your shooting style. Sequence in the junkyard was amazing. Some great camera angles. Of course the content is super cool too!
Boy your watch is amazing, got so much beating but still working.
You should be really proud of youself man, that truck is sick!
Those side vent windows bring back fond memories.
I love me some side window ventilation!
Had a ‘78 work truck years ago. 302 3 speed with OD (a very tall final drive made it only useful over 65). Regular leaded fuel, ‘78 was the last year. Excellent truck, blue chip FoMoCo. I see the rig was plated WI, from my side of the river…. Can’t blame your seeming preference for I6s, nice to wrench on.
Some epic shots you get with close ups and such. Well done!!! Very entertaining
Excellent video and your closing shots are epic perfect camera placement well done. Way to show an old Ford some love it needed.
Love this format. Great work, sir.
Hello Simon, I discovered your channel this week, congratulations on the work and idea, really the 70s style and the way you put effort into your work brings an incredible sense of reality to the day of a good man, with so little and so much willpower you share excellent methods and attention from a mature professional, watching you reminds me of the 3 years I lived and worked hard in the USA, from coffee in the morning and the maintenance on my Pathfinder 97 that I had, there were moments of great struggle with that car, I'll never forget it, I spent 3 days and 3 nights trying to get the engine back to normal after changing the water pump, I ended up taking the engine out of sync, thanks to a friend of mine Joel, one of the best mechanics I've ever met, helped me with those days and information from my great Uncle miles away we managed to make the repair, so again congratulations on Canal as there are many like you who fight bravely every day, may God bless all the boys like you and these great automobiles that have marked our lives! !!!!
I bought a truck brand new just like that . The 6 cylinder and the 3 on the tree. Brings back memories. Thanks 😂
P.S. That’s a very nice looking American Classic Pickup. We are very proud of your accomplishments! Truly enjoyed watching it. A lot of hard work filled with determination and fortitude, not giving up. Job well done!
I liked that and since I have a 78 F250 i6 sitting in my yard it was fun to compare. The outro was really good!
Thanks for sharing.
So good, love the stock Ford trucks. Low budget trucks are my favorite. Nice work on the video and the truck.
300 inline 6 in my opinion is the best engine ford made. 351 windser 2nd best.
I really like your channel keep up the great work.
your videos are superb...edition is really professional, i feel like wachting a movie. cheers from Argentina
I enjoy your videos. Nice and quiet and not a lot of noise trying to impress viewers. You're like the Hiku of TH-cam car guys!
Good job Simon & you make a very good Video with no Music & no needless talking 👍
Support ist kein Mord. Grüße aus dem Saarland.
46:30 That was a sweet edit right there of the whole starting sequence man! Nice shooting dude!👍🏻👌🏻
Awesome video man. Finding your channel has renewed my faith in TH-cam and a few other things
If I was in your side of the Pond I definitely buy and reward one of your spirited conservation works
You are a talented mechanic my friend
killah/Killah/KILLAH vid. Thank you for your efforts and sharing w/ us...
I got me a '79 Ford F-100. Bought in '81. 302 w/ C6 tranny. Lariat.
Engine rebuilt w/ 9K now and C6 overhaul. New steering gear box. New Master cylinder/booster.
Carb' overhauled. Muff' and cat' guud. Still tweaking for optimum performance. Thank you .
Excellent filming
love these videos dude! keep stickin with it
I enjoyed watching, learning some of your mechanical skills. My daughter and I had purchased a 1972 Ford 360 ci, Custom Camper A/T, 3 speed, two tone, with 8 foot bed. I have shared your channel with several classic car clubs I belong to here in southwestern Idaho. Miss living in Wisconsin. Keep it up. Great informative and helpful video. Good encouragement to so many. 👍🏻🛻👍🏻⛽️👍🏻🛞🏎 Be blessed. 👍🏻😎🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸
Sounds like a beautiful truck! Thanks for the support
Remember when I was young those were the vehicles everyone was driven.
Great shape for that year in Wisconsin.
Great camera work well done more please
Just goes to show you that you don't need a lift or high-buck tools to fix things. This kid's got some skills.
Great show ! Subscribed!❤
Gr8 truck. I had a 78 with a 300. Loved her
Nothing better than a long haired mechanic. That was me 40 yrs. ago and still is. lol
Nice work there!
The neighbors no doubt thrilled to see a new arrival ... free smoke show. Missed the cat outro but maybe that's a new thing.
Yea I hadn't started doing it back then
Love this truck! Ive got a few old ford pruducts myself lol
I like your style
Good work
Thanks
Damn, very cool truck!!
Great Video, When vehicles were simpler to work on
I have the same truck but a f100 and I love it
DUDEZILLA! Thanks for making a 'TOTALLY RAD' video for me to enjoy watching while drinking my 'yummy in my tummy' coffee here in 'L-TOWN' (Lancaster), SOUTH CAROLINA!
I think you should take it easy on the caffeine
NAH, your mom likes me just the way I am...@@AlexKomnenos
The Ford F150 300 IL6 is legendary, one tough engine runs into the 100,000 of miles if you take care of the maintenance.
Cool truck. Love the blue colour. It's a nice model. Personally I prefer the other grill stile,(which can be swapped) but this stile is not bad at all.
Nice job!
Good job pretty awesome 👍🏼👍🏼
There’s no beating the power and reliability of a 240/302 in-line six engines
starting on a 86,,,thx for the help
Just started watching your channel. I am a big fan of the no commentary actually. One cheap tool I recommend for ya is a bigger hammer! Not a big investment and it would help you enormously on the two videos I have seen. Especially when you are doing the ball joints and such. Nice work on the trucks !
Thanks! After one of my later videos, I got a lot of comments about the hammer. I got a bigger one!
Nice job kid!!
Excellent videos you put out my friend. Great stuff. Also, an indoor car wash? I’ve never seen one before.
Excelente 👌 trabajo
You must spend hours getting all your shots...really nice touch!
They should still make pickup trucks like this. No frills just a good simple work truck.
I had a blue 78 F-150 with a 302 automatic that I traded last year. I miss that truck, but I have a 79 Camaro now.
Excelente mecanico raiz domina carro e moto parabéns...
Sei que falta mão de obra aí aproveite meu jovem ...
Abraço...
Nice turd! Really good content and format here.
FYI, NAPA carries shims for those starters, I had the same issue with mine hitting the flywheel.
That’s a strange car wash. Wouldn’t having two cars in the same bay and that open walkway in the middle allow for everyone to blow their dirty water on the other car? Great video. 👍🏼
Thanks! Yea, that's just the beauty of our self-serve car washes, usually it's not too bad.
1978 is my favorite body style I own a 1978 f250 and a bronco
Back in the late 70's I owned a 73 pretty much the same truck just a few differences. Mine started out plain Jane I( swaped the 6 out for a V8 and changed the interior good ole truck for me
Careful with that asbestos-break dust, no good for you lungs...nevertheless, love you tenacity and zeal for bringing those classics from grave to glory 🤜🏾🤛🏽
Hell yeah 👍🏼
❤a rodar otros 40 años❤
nice truck
Muy bien!!
Like the no commentary, more doing, less talking, I should take notes, my wife would appreciate it.
How was the exhaust plumbed? I see a log-style exhaust manifold but then a dual system from the trans on back? Sounds good tho!
I learned to drive a 3 on the tree in my uncle Eddie's brand new 1975 Chevy square body 🙂
You mean “Boomer “ square body gMs exploding pickup, dangerous but gM got away with it from 1973 to 1987
That’s exactly the truck I’m looking for, but add A/C. Color and all.
Hmmm…it is for sale as a matter of fact, lol
Nice patina on the old girl.
Man, these videos go by so quickly. Hopefully the F150's owner has some budget later on to patch up some rust and fix some leaks.
Great vid and great old truck. You certainly brought new life to it. I chuckled when seeing how nice of clothes you were wearing to get all dirty. My wife would wring my neck. On a serious note I cringed when you blew the brake dust out of the drums. Should never blow this stuff since highly carcinogenic. Welding the muffler flanges near the gas tank is always scary. I guess I am just a cautious old man. Just subscribed so keep them coming.
I was careful not to breathe that brake dust in. Welding next to the gas tank is never optimal, but as long as I don't see fuel leaks or smell gas, I don't see much danger. Thanks for subscribing.
Only in America🇺🇸
Regards from Argentina🇦🇷
Why old american cars are so beautiful?
Serious question,
how did you know and diagnose it was the starter?
Exellent A+ video
looking good!
Thanks! When the starter just whirrs like that and doesn’t want to turn over then engine, means it bad, common issue. Sometimes it can be a chipped flywheel, but then you can rotate the motor by hand and then the teeth will catch.
@@SimonFordmandoesnt always mean its bad. The bendix gear can stick. Can so be that the flywheel is worn and you starter cant catch. Good to always save the old one to use for parts if you have to. Ive had to before on my 300i6
Love these dentsides. Had a '79 250 w\ a 400 auto fulltime 4x4 back in the 90's. Its so nice to be able to get right into engine bay to work on them, nowadays you cant even see the engine underneath all the plastic covers, wires, hoses, etc. This truck needs some love put into it. You can buy all the patch panels to fix the rust on cab corners, rockers, fenders & wheel wells, etc. This isnt in that bad condition and deserves some love, patience & tlc! I hope the owner goes a little more with it....or gives it to you, so you can fix it up a little bit! The straight 6 is pretty bulletproof too, but not a racecar engine.👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩
How does it have dual exhaust? Headers?
Dá uma pena de ver como o sal jogado nas ruas por causa da neve corrói a parte de baixo desses carros
