You are my hero dude, i literally have been trying so long to figure out why my recordings were coming out as only 30 fps when i had it set to 60. This was a very helpful video!
It worked for me , So basically, I changed the performance to lower for rust in (geforce graphics) between 10 - 11 to be spesific, and i lowerd the resolution of rust ( between1920 x 1440 and 1920x 1080. Im sure it will work for you too if you try this. ( before using geforce experience i also checked for update for it and my windows) hope t works :) (EDIT what i noticed is wheneveri put the grapichs higher it crashes)
The detail in which you covered specific settings is really great. I think your recommended bitrate settings are way too high though. For example if you are uploading clips to TH-cam, the recommended bitrate for a 4k video at 60fps is only 68mbps. The following is the recommended bitrate/ resolution from TH-cam: 4K @ 60fps - 53-68mbps 2K @ 60fps - 24mbps 1080p @ 60fps - 12mbps This is also dependent on the amount of movement taking place. If you're playing a game with a lot of moving foliage, weather, etc. you would need a higher bitrate to keep that from getting blocky. Either way recording in 4K 130-150mbps is going to produce a massive file that will be fairly taxing on your machine when editing. I personally haven't tested that but it is likely overkill for the benefit gained. Personally for my Overwatch videos I record in 2K with 25mbps bitrate (playing in 2K aswell) and am able to get 15 minute clips that are only 2-3Gb in size with great quality. For other games like Escape From Tarkov I would need a higher bitrate because of the constantly moving grass and trees everywhere. The problem with TH-cam quality is from how the videos are re-encoded by YT when they are uploaded. This becomes obvious when comparing two uploads of the same video, say one is 1080p and the other is upscaled to 4K. The upscaled video will have better quality in 1080p than the video that wasn't upscaled. There are detailed tests of this on TH-cam. So from my understanding the most efficient way of recording>rendering>uploading is as follows: Nvidia Capture Settings: Resolution: 1080p / 1440p / 4k (depending on what resolution you are playing in) Bitrate: Set to TH-cams given recommendation for resolution (although minor testing should be done for games with high movement, experiment with higher bitrates) Render Settings after editing: Upscale resolution to 2K or 4K and increase the bitrate by around double (depends on what resolution is being upscaled from) Optional: For quicker uploads to TH-cam / Reduced file size for archiving videos Run the final video through HandBrake (video converter / encoder) using H.265 (Nvidia NVEnc) which should reduce the the file size significantly from an H.264 file. Find a tutorial on handbrake and experiment with quality settings to achieve the same quality with a reduced file size. ( Doing this with some older clips I have hoarded my file sizes go from 4-5Gb down to 1.5-2Gb with the same level of detail preserved) Also Optional: Run clips through HandBrake before importing to an editor, specifically converting from Variable Framerate to Constant Framerate. As quite a few video editing programs don't properly handle VFR videos (shadowplay recordings) and cause audio/video desync. AVIDemux might have this feature too, I've never used it so I'm not sure. That is essentially what I've learned in the past year of recording with shadowplay and uploading to TH-cam. I went from low quality recordings with large file sizes, to high quality recordings with lower file sizes. Hopefully this helps someone that had similar problems to me.
@@AnIdiotOnline What do you mean? I gave an example of mine, I might not have explained that I play in 2K (2560x1440) and record in 2K. In my situation I don't upscale anything as I believe every resolution uses a different encoder through TH-cam once uploaded so uploading a 2K video instead of a 1080p video should already look better. Haven't bothered upscaling to 4K because TH-cam playback looks close enough to my finished video on my PC, at least for Overwatch. I may test it in the future if I find that quality isn't matching up.

As far as I know you can only output 60fps on youtube so I havent played around with recording higher I think it requires software other than shadowplay though. In my situation the only benefit would be for doing slow motion stuff through like Premiere or After Effects. Sounds like you may have done well on black friday!

Your graphics card fan output should only be running around 80% capacity for longevity, running it at 100% will degrade the fan bearings faster in the longrun.

All these years of using GFE I never noticed the Performance option!! I miss the pause recording setting the old version had. I usually speed up videos, especially longer ones like yours, but you speak so quickly that it's not necessary!
Would you recommend unchecking the "allow applications to take exclusive control over this device" and "give exclusive mode applications priority" for both speakers and mic for all users even if not planning to use GFE features and such?
Doesn't matter. If you're not making music or doing other audio work (or you have an ancient, underpowered PC), the "exclusive" setting is next to meaningless. Leave it off unless an application demands it, or you're having audio issues.

instant replay uses your storage drive for the replay buffer, this heavily degrades your hdd and especially ssd because it is constantly writing and rewriting the nand. change the temp folder to use your ram as the replay buffer.
I'd love if you go in depth for why and what it does, the settings you're changing. I'd love to follow up on what you do, but i'm seeking an understanding as to why i follow you, in your steps :)
I wonder whats the differnce is between "save the last X minutes recorded" and "toggle manual recording on/off and save". Is it like: Save last [...] - always saves the amount of minutes you've set up Toggle manual recording [...] - Iit begins to record when pressed first and ends when prssed again?
With "save X minutes" enabled, if something happens that you want to replay, you can save it permanently. If it's not enabled, you missed it and there's no going back.
PLEASE do a video about optimization of DCS by Eagle Dynamics. So many people use it but cannot figure best settings. Please do it if possible. Great Channel btw👍

Unfortunately newer versions of GeForce experience have started causing massive occasional stutters in Apex Legends specifically. Any other game I play seems unaffected. It took me almost a year to figure out what was causing stutters, and uninstalling Experience completely removed the stutters.
OBS is no doubt very good for streaming, however if you are just starting like myself and maybe you only one have monitor, then the broadcast option on this is still very good, you wont have much movement with cams and your overlays will be basic place holders, but over clutter can put some viewers off, so its swings and roundabouts. Great video either way!
or your like me who just wants to record so that you can share it with your friends your funny highlights... I'm coming from AMD and the ReLive was good enough got a new Nvidia one and hoping for the same.
The only reason I use Geforce to record is because only one game is nothing but lag in the final video with OBS. Recording is fine, but the result is nothing but jerky lag. Wtih Geforce I have none of that, which is great. But the camera is so tiny and there is no option to make it bigger. Edit: Oh wait, it doesn't even give me a camera tab. Just says the ones under it. But it records and my webcam is on.
Geforce Experience can be very risky to use. More often it will automatically optimize your games the program supports when you, say, going to update the program or something. I were playing Diablo 4 and were changing my graphic setting to lower the GPU temperature because of the common temp spike issue this game has. Then I entered Geforce Experience to update it, but then without realizing it it optimized Diablo 4, resetting my setting. In game, my GPU temp suddenly rose up to almost 90 degrees without me realizing the sudden reset changes at first, forced me to quit the game and increase the fan speed to full until it cool down before re-entering Diablo 4 to rechange my setting back it was before. Because of this, I quit entering and updating both Geforce Experience and the graphic card because that program almost fried my GPU. Use this software at your own risk.

How do I increase the gameplay recording length via Geforce Experience? I did a Cyberpunk gameplay yesterday but it was recorded only till 25 mins whereas the recording button was still ON almost for the 1 hour I have played.

In-game overlay doesn't work for me. When I try to turn it on, an error message say's "that didn't work, try restarting your system." which didin't help?
I was record with shadow play in monitor 1080p and i upscale to 1440 and then i get 1440 video resolution Its amazing, and now i don't know what happening to my shadow so i cant get 1440 video resolution anymore and i try to upscale 2k and 4k in Nvidia control panel whatever i upscale it still record 1080p i get, i hope you My VGA is rtx 3080

my monitor is 1080p but i do play some games on 3k with DLDSR, my GPU is a 3080ti

@@OdinsDadd your card will be fine as long as you don’t make it overheat, AKA make the OC too demanding without the proper cooling.
Uninstalling it will make it last even longer. You bought the card, use it. Nothing lasts forever.

No, this will just override any manual GPU overclocking. :)
Note: this won't work on Nvidia GPUs like GT 610 or any older Models as it was already EOL (End-of-Life) models
