Theres something about page file that bothers me and I dont understand. I have 32gb of ram and somehow it is not enough to keep pagefile disabled, this so freaking weird to me. When I check hwinfo there is virtual ram and physical ram, and somehow virtual ram is always there even with page file is disabled and somehow virtual ram uses almost double what the physical ram is using. Its something that i just been ignoring thru the years and in the end just let windows do its thing but I cannot seem to figure out even by researching. Why the hell does my system get out of ram when its only using 18gb RAM? Why does virtual ram goes to 99.99% when physical ram is only 60% ?! What the frick
Excellent video!!! you literally mentioned everything that I modify when I install windows. You missed to say to install the basic Visual C++ and Desktop Runtime libraries. Many games and programs need them to run properly. The basic programs with ninite and OS ready!
So just a heads up: Windows 11 will sometimes change power plans on you after an update. Also, about the hacking stuff: So true. The most important thing is to keep software up to date, not all this other fancy stuff.
since the default windows defragment utility is pretty mediocre, i had really great experience with the 3rd party option since i think windows 7.. it’s called defraggler and it’s super light and straightforward to use, however it’s much slower with defragmentation taking up to 10-12 hours for 1tb drives, but i have to say that forza horizon 4 was actually unplayable really and i when i booted the games for the first i got a warning saying that the game has detected a “slow storage” or whatever, but after the defgraggler finished in about 5-6 hours it was working super smooth and i wasn’t expecting anything out of this, just had some free afk time for the pc so i tried it 🙂 edit: the reason it’s slower is because it’s defraging free space as well afaik cheers mate

Quick question Fabio, regarding AM5 7000 series APU drivers... I learnt from you that it is better to get AMD chipset drivers directly from AMD's website rather than the motherboard manufacturer's website, but what about APU drivers for my Ryzen 7600 on my Gigabyte B650? Or... do you even need to install separate APU drivers, after already installing Radeon Catalyst GPU drivers, since the CPU graphics are the same architectures anyway? Though i don't mainly use my CPU's integrated graphics, i still want them bug-free & ready-to-go if i need them for a program or use-case that is able to utilize it.
Do you experience stutters in many games with your 7800X3D? I see several stutters starting from around 20:44. Just wonder if it's something that can't be fixed and it's the games and not a hardware/software issue.
@@AncientGameplays Alright, so is there a way I can tell what's causing stutters using RTSS? I'm playing a lot of MMOs and get ocassional stutters even in low populated areas. Of course no CPU can handle big groups of people casting abilities tho. I also notice other games have what I think is asset stutters due to loading in. I got a 7800X3D/4070.

One of my biggest with my new PC that I built for high end gaming and with Windows 11 is that something is causing my CPU to to go 100% load when I AFK (even if it's in a game) which ramps up the CPU and makes the temperature go to 80+ degrees. I have searched far and wide for a solution to this but nothing worked, only thing to makes the CPU go back down to normal is bringing up Task Manager but nothing ever shows up in it because it instantly goes away.
Nice video. At the beginning of the video, where you talk about privacy, windows telemetry, search for windows etc., I happened to use O&O Shutup software, which collects many options to disable various windows functions (privacy, telemetry, windows diagnostics etc.) not essential. What do you think of this software?
For pagefile I would suggest not to completely switch of but to set it at smallest size possible if you have at least 16GB ram or more. Most of your tips I used/started to use already when XP came out. Great jjob 👍
on the core isolation part i am fully aware that it has the drawback of deprecating performance however i use vm's which core isolation also helps with my system ain't just a gaming rig however i am going to get a mini pc and separate my browsing habits from my gaming rig and mostly make the gaming rig offline a lot of games do not need the launcher to authenticate themself which is neat once i got the mini pc core isolation will no longer be needed on the gaming rig and mini pc actually can game because the 780m chipset is actually quite good at 1080p and you are correct if someone wants to get into your system they will its always just been a matter of time not a matter of can they however that does not mean you throw everything to the wind it is like me saying ow i do not need windows defender lets disable it completely because i practice safe browsing sounds great but if i make a mistake then i have nothing to fall back to to try and protect me even if that could fail majority of security incidents have one thing in common human error that said all these protections do jack shit i seen some of the malware in development using ai crap on top of it and wel they might not be used but when they are what they claim to do is scary as hell because they are stealth oriented and if they are detected they can just change the identifier of the file and continue replicating themself on top they can bypass the firewall completely and you get that windows xp directly connected to the internet situation within windows 10 and 11 which means you can just be on the desktop and get infected doing absolutely nothing that said there is also the ipv6 vulnerability that wel just disable ipv6 on your pc and modem/router if you use windows as you can literally connect to anyone that has ipv6 if you have their address you can check if ipv6 is active by opening cmd and typing "ipconfig" then enter if the value behind the ipv6 doesn't start with fe80 then your ipv6 can be reached by the internet by anyone that has your full address note that the ipv6 vulnerability only happens in windows due to how windows handles ipv6 pc's with like unix operating systems so like macos or linux do not have this vulnerability so you can keep ipv6 on with those systems if you need it
Nice video ,but you never say one thing .When want to instal new chipset driver do i need to uninstal previous Chipset driver like gpu driver or just overwrite old. Thanks
as long as you have lots and lots of ram 32 or 64 GB you can probably soft turn off the page file. I wouldn't completely turn it off as if Windows or an application tries to access it. you could get a crash. I manually go in and change my page file to 16 MB start which is the minimum up to a maximum of 1024 MB. Windows will also use this for other things like blue screen of death crash reports in the event viewer. again, don't turn it off completely but minimize it and you will definitely see a boost to performance when multitasking
@@AncientGameplays I'm a computer technician and network engineer. I assure you if you have at least 32 and run a clean/tight ship, you'll never run out of RAM. novice users should probably just leave it alone, but this is high level enthusiast content and I think it would be okay for power users like us. again, it's unwise to completely turn it off but only giving it 1 GB to ensure applications are utilizing your RAM definitely can make things snappier.

Hey Fabio , You did something interesting , PageFile use the HDD or SSD................... But what about moving those resources to the RAM which is more faster , I really wonder can you do a comparison if PC with RAM to spare like 32GB or 64GB can benefit from a better performance both outside and inside games 🤔?
Great video. Only problem I have is that I do not have the memory integrity option at all, it's basically not showing up in core isolation so I can not turn it off. Only options I have are Local Security Authority Protection and Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist
I think your take on core isolation is correct but a bit too generalized. For people who are often CPU bound or play a lot of CPU bound games like competitive titles with uncapped fps or higher capped refresh rates in other games I'd definitely just leave it off. All users shouldn't expect to see much of a performance uplift in GPU bound or capped fps scenarios where your CPU can already consistently deliver above your capped framerate. Highly situational depending on your the titles you play, your system, and your use case, but generally not bad advice.
Great video, covering the real things. One problem that I still have is that I cannot use the XMP settings on my 3200 Ram. The brand is not listed on the QVL list of the mobo, and as a result I only get the stock 2133 speed. Is there any way to get around this, or do I just have to waith until I can afford a replacement 32GB package? I will check your video on Ram OC later today incase the answer is there.
you didn't mention that you can disable ALL startup items(programs, apps, services, scheduled tasks) from revo in a single instance. it's 10 times easier and you can do them all from a single page.

I know how to do the clean install of the GPU drivers with DDU but im not sure how to make it for the chipset. I got a LOQ 15APH8 it has a Ryzen 7 7840HS. Thank you for your help ♥
you can use DDU to uninstall chipset as well, go to options and check the chipset uninstall. First update windows then: Win+R type msconfig and enable safe boot and restart. Use DDU to uninstall Chipset and GPU drivers and before you restart Win+R write msconfig and disable safe mode. Restart and inwindows install chipset drivers first and restart. then GPU drivers and restart.

What the frick
because virtual RAM is not exactly the same as page file
@@AncientGameplays My question is - what is virtual ram and why am I "running out of ram" when its apparently maxing out at 60%
Excellent video!!! you literally mentioned everything that I modify when I install windows. You missed to say to install the basic Visual C++ and Desktop Runtime libraries. Many games and programs need them to run properly. The basic programs with ninite and OS ready!
would windows not have those installed by default?
@@Lockwood360 no, but, every app or game will install it auomaticly if needed (usually)
Yo tysm I really appreciate it my pc has been having fps stutters and you just fixed my problem!
The goat is back with tutorials, I will try, big hug man.
Very interesting. Thank you.
So just a heads up: Windows 11 will sometimes change power plans on you after an update.
Also, about the hacking stuff: So true. The most important thing is to keep software up to date, not all this other fancy stuff.
since the default windows defragment utility is pretty mediocre, i had really great experience with the 3rd party option since i think windows 7.. it’s called defraggler and it’s super light and straightforward to use, however it’s much slower with defragmentation taking up to 10-12 hours for 1tb drives, but i have to say that forza horizon 4 was actually unplayable really and i when i booted the games for the first i got a warning saying that the game has detected a “slow storage” or whatever, but after the defgraggler finished in about 5-6 hours it was working super smooth and i wasn’t expecting anything out of this, just had some free afk time for the pc so i tried it 🙂
edit: the reason it’s slower is because it’s defraging free space as well afaik
cheers mate
Now this is what I call an oldschool optmization guide. On steroids!
To uninstall GPU drivers with DDU, another tip:
1. System Configuration > Boot > check Safe mode
2. restart
3. login to windows
4. use DDU to unninstall and restart
5. back into windows, do the same steps from point 1, but uncheck Safe mode. Restart.
6. login and install the new drivers.
What about the windows graphics settings? like HAGS, VRR, and Optimization for windows games.
That's irrelevant, VRR is a must nowadays, period. HAGS should be enabled for FG
@@AncientGameplays I have gsync enabled in nvidia control panel but VRR disabled in windows settings, should I turn that on or will it conflict with the nvidia gsync vrr
Though i don't mainly use my CPU's integrated graphics, i still want them bug-free & ready-to-go if i need them for a program or use-case that is able to utilize it.
also AMD site
@@AncientGameplays Greatly appreciate the personal reply. This is why i'm proud to be a devout new (starting 2024) subscriber of yours! 😊
Do you experience stutters in many games with your 7800X3D? I see several stutters starting from around 20:44. Just wonder if it's something that can't be fixed and it's the games and not a hardware/software issue.
Those were due to the nvidia card there. Not enough bandwidth for NFS
Thank you as always you are the 🐐
Startup Delayer is a great little tool to manage your startup apps.
But....why install aditional software for that?
excellent video. I made a similar guide earlier this year, and I gotta make another one soon, since so much new information comes out all the time😂😂

I understand that Power Plan should be set to "Balanced" on Ryzen 9 CPUs (19:59) but what about Power Mode in the Windows 11 settings?
Should Power Mode be set to "Balanced" or "Best performance"?
Best perf there
@@AncientGameplays Nice! I had already set Power Mode to "Best performance" on my 7950X since I measured consistently higher scores in Cinebench r23 but I didn't test any games so thanks for confirming!
For those with nvidia cards messing with the nvidia control panel might help too, in my case it boosted my fps by 10-20
With lower quality I assume
@@AncientGameplays nope, literally 0 visual impact

Thanks haha, small tips mostly for older systems here
Nice video. At the beginning of the video, where you talk about privacy, windows telemetry, search for windows etc., I happened to use O&O Shutup software, which collects many options to disable various windows functions (privacy, telemetry, windows diagnostics etc.) not essential. What do you think of this software?
Need to try it I guess!
Yesterday i format my pc!!!!luckilly today you give to as this videoo
Great haha
For pagefile I would suggest not to completely switch of but to set it at smallest size possible if you have at least 16GB ram or more. Most of your tips I used/started to use already when XP came out. Great jjob 👍
on the core isolation part i am fully aware that it has the drawback of deprecating performance however i use vm's which core isolation also helps with my system ain't just a gaming rig however i am going to get a mini pc and separate my browsing habits from my gaming rig and mostly make the gaming rig offline a lot of games do not need the launcher to authenticate themself which is neat
once i got the mini pc core isolation will no longer be needed on the gaming rig and mini pc actually can game because the 780m chipset is actually quite good at 1080p
and you are correct if someone wants to get into your system they will its always just been a matter of time not a matter of can they however that does not mean you throw everything to the wind it is like me saying ow i do not need windows defender lets disable it completely because i practice safe browsing sounds great but if i make a mistake then i have nothing to fall back to to try and protect me even if that could fail majority of security incidents have one thing in common human error
that said all these protections do jack shit i seen some of the malware in development using ai crap on top of it and wel they might not be used but when they are what they claim to do is scary as hell because they are stealth oriented and if they are detected they can just change the identifier of the file and continue replicating themself on top they can bypass the firewall completely and you get that windows xp directly connected to the internet situation within windows 10 and 11 which means you can just be on the desktop and get infected doing absolutely nothing
that said there is also the ipv6 vulnerability that wel just disable ipv6 on your pc and modem/router if you use windows as you can literally connect to anyone that has ipv6 if you have their address you can check if ipv6 is active by opening cmd and typing "ipconfig" then enter if the value behind the ipv6 doesn't start with fe80 then your ipv6 can be reached by the internet by anyone that has your full address
note that the ipv6 vulnerability only happens in windows due to how windows handles ipv6 pc's with like unix operating systems so like macos or linux do not have this vulnerability so you can keep ipv6 on with those systems if you need it
Nice video ,but you never say one thing .When want to instal new chipset driver do i need to uninstal
previous Chipset driver like gpu driver or just overwrite old. Thanks
Better to do so yes
as long as you have lots and lots of ram 32 or 64 GB you can probably soft turn off the page file.
I wouldn't turn it off nowadays unless you have at least 48GB
@@AncientGameplays I'm a computer technician and network engineer. I assure you if you have at least 32 and run a clean/tight ship, you'll never run out of RAM.
novice users should probably just leave it alone, but this is high level enthusiast content and I think it would be okay for power users like us. again, it's unwise to completely turn it off but only giving it 1 GB to ensure applications are utilizing your RAM definitely can make things snappier.
@@rokku87 Nicely said, though i appriciate fabio is not fast to recommend removing pagefile. A bit lower fps is prefferable to a crash.
of course, I completely agree most people should probably just leave it alone Windows does a good job managing it on its own
I was watching the first one and I thought the audio problems were on my part lol
Nope, definitely mine haha
7:28 please update BIOS, to speed up your boot time in to the windows, also it optimize windows to breath a fresh air
Any chance you can do a video talking about how the new control panel "balanced" options effect things? They have confused me a bit and nobody has made anything on it.
Ryzen 9? Use Balanced, all else usually= High Performance
@@AncientGameplays I have a Rzyen 9 but its a 3950X so I have taken to using "Ryzen Balanced" since that is suggested for Zen 3 over the basic Windows power plans.
@@AncientGameplays I also use the "Best Performance" sub option in the new power mode app within the Ryzen Balanced main setting.
23:03 very menditory if you want to stop games from Judder while playing games. It makes the games feel very smooth on windows 11, I don't know about other windows. I only keep "Smooth edges of screen fonts" just so when you surf the web the texts don't look choppy.

I just did the update of windows 11 24h2 and your video is perfect, the only step with which I’m having problems is the power supply, I can’t find the setting you show, is it because I have Windows in italian? 20:17

Hey mate,
I bought a 7900x3d during the amazon sale. Upgrading from 5800x3d so new Mobo (mag b60) and ram. Gpu is 7900xtx.
Delivery is only next week so now I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile upgrade. Pls help!
Well, that depends on your card. Unless you have some thing like a 7900xt or xtx, 4070ti super or 4080 super that upgrade will most be noticeable in rendering and some games, not all. Watch my 9900x review
vast majority of hacked pcs and accounts either fell for a phishing scam, clicked on a link they shouldn't have or accessed a site they shouldn't have. thing is it's easier for them to grab the info from the source or have the user incidentally install it themselves.
windows game mode works when your computer is clogged with junk in the background, by simply stops it while playing. approved 👍
Thanks i always like my pc clean and fast
Make sure that when you clean install windows it doesn't install drivers automaticaly from windows update. They are broken and brake features. Even if you install latest driver on top of that it won't still work 100%. I had issues with netflix not showing me 4k and my bluetooth headphones were working in 1 channel and very low hz and that made audio heavily compressed. Once I uninstalled bluetooth device and ddued my gpu driver and installed them manually everything went fine and is now working properly
Nice one brother. You avoided making any ridiculous claims & pretty much covered all the relevant points. Appreciated as always. Thx!
Very interesting video! However, I have a curiosity about the win11 24h2 update. I theoretically should have the requirements, but I don't have the upgrade. I have a cpu r7 5700x3d, mobo b550, gpu rx 6650 xt... What is not working? 🤔
You NEVER upgrade windows like that, might break it. Also download tbe ISO and clean install if possible
Not really noticeable I believe

That's why I told people to watch thenother video as well, i talk about more scenarios there
I think the chapter timestamps are wrong, since they don't line up at all for me.
Thank you, just fixed it!
I will check your video on Ram OC later today incase the answer is there.
easy, just ramp up the voltage to 1.38v over the stock 1.35v
you didn't mention that you can disable ALL startup items(programs, apps, services, scheduled tasks) from revo in a single instance. it's 10 times easier and you can do them all from a single page.
Yes, you can indeed
Thank you for this video since I trust you with the advices that you teach us. I got a question: how do I make a clean install of the chipset drivers? I know how to do the clean install of the GPU drivers with DDU but im not sure how to make it for the chipset. I got a LOQ 15APH8 it has a Ryzen 7 7840HS. Thank you for your help ♥
Use revo uninstaller
you can use DDU to uninstall chipset as well, go to options and check the chipset uninstall.
First update windows then:
Win+R type msconfig and enable safe boot and restart.
Use DDU to uninstall Chipset and GPU drivers and before you restart Win+R write msconfig and disable safe mode.
Restart and inwindows install chipset drivers first and restart.
then GPU drivers and restart.
