I am a priest from Brasil and I study Italian and I try to watch videos from Italy to practice Italian and I found your channel, good that I can practice English too, in this video I hear the noise of the church bell, I hope that one day you make a video showing inside the church where you live. God bless you.
Another tip for your laundry is to shake then fold and press smooth with your hands straight out of the washing machine and leave in a pile a few minutes before hanging. Saves on ironing and as you can see from your neighbours perfectly hung and creaseless washing thats how they do it.
I love how you enjoy the simple things in life. Getting a coffee at your favorite coffee shop, your two minute cold dips, hanging laundry and listening to the church bells. Just to name a few.❤
I love every thing you've done and the fact that you keep to the Italian aesthetic in your decorating. That village was absolutely stunning even in the rain and the cobblestone streets were so medieval and magical. I hope you bought the cupboard, it's perfect.
That flea market!😍 I too love Italy….just came back from Florence, Ravenna and Bologna in September….my 12th visit all the way from 🇨🇦 Had that same fierce rain one day in Florence and ended up sheltering in a public loo to wait it out!🤣
You seem so relaxed and carefree in Italy. Every time you go it is a mini vacation. It must be decorating your little house exactly as you like and having nothing large and expensive waiting for your back to turn so it can fall apart and need immediate repair. I have always wanted to zip around the Italian country side up and down the winding roads along the cliffs on a old vespa pretending I live in a James Bond movie…
Hanging laundry reminds me of being a kid and handing my mother clothespins, watching the clothes flutter in the breeze, then the smell of freshly dried clothes. Wonderful memories.
I love when you are in Italy, rain or shine! This was lovely to watch the beautiful landscape and the adorable town where you had lunch and picked up you perfect prints. Congratulations by the way, on your bedroom lamp! We saw it dusty and I was afraid it would not fit, but you never fail at knowing that it will and it looks wonderful! Now to see the prints hung!
Italy is so stylish, even the weather stains on the buildings look classy! And no litter,no disgusting chewing gum stuck on the pavement. It looks old, well kept and gracefully aged.
Bigger cities unfortunately are dirtier and more polluted than smaller cities/towns like Fivizzano. The one I live in has tons of problems, including dogs' poos on the pavement which you don't notice until it's too late. Visiting any country as a tourist isn't the same thing as living in it as a native/long time resident.
@@chiaramazza5523 I live in a tourist area in the u.k. and its shameful how dirty the pavements are. I think most people have become "blind" to it. It makes a real difference to see a place with clean pavements.
Your enthusiasm for your home in Italy is so pleasing to enjoy with you. I can imagine the never ending work and huge never ending dept of Mapperton is overwhelming. Wonderful to see you have left time, funds and energy for yourself. You are teaching us to look after ourselves first. You deserve it.
Italy is lovely, even in the rain. You are wise to have a 'bolt hole'. You are incredibly adventurous jumping into freezing water ! I have had several starts with Babbel in French but time is in short spurts as My husband needs me around a lot after three spinal surgeries in the last two years. We are still travelling to our little house in France, even though it is difficult. Babbel has helped because I have to translate for him as he is increasingly deaf. We are waiting for a new front door and will go over as soon as it comes (deliveries can be slow in France!), but as we will be doorless for one night at least we have to be there. It is fun collecting stuff from flea markets. Have a happy trip to Italy ! People don't realise that in the right place , houses are cheap, if you stay away from the English/ American real estate agents!
Hey Julie from Mississippi in the USA. I love watching you, especially when you are interacting with your husband. I bet when you guys got together he didn't know how to take you. I love it that you are not uppity acting even though you are a Viscountess now. Keep it real girl! Just know we here back home are sending you all our love.
So happy for you Julie. I am a Spaniard living abroad who shares your love for Italy and I hope I get to do what you have done and get a little place in such a wonderful country
I remember watching your video when you were in Italy last time fixing your bathroom and assembling the almirah by yourself and I am happy that you bought your very own house in Italy , very wise decision 👍
Julie, You are making me feel like I should move now that I am retired...so happy that you are almost finished with your home! One American to another--Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🦃
I moved to the historical center of Viterbo, just off the Tuscan and Umbrian border and I absolutely love it here. I love your videos and can very much relate to your daily experiences. Italy is like no other 🥰
You can literally see your brain working when you try to speak Italian. 😂 Isn't it fascinating how hard it is to to do something new? Your Italian is really great.
Hello there or should I write "Ciao". Thank you for allowing us to discover this beautiful part of Italy, so quaint. I notice that you don't give your clothes a good shake before hanging them up on the line. It'll help to get rid of some of the wrinkles and lint if there happens to be any and will also loosen the fabric. One other tip, if you've washed a lot of socks, take a wire coat hanger, hang your socks in pairs - did I need to write that! - on the cross bar then hang the coat hanger by the hook on the line securing it with a peg. If there's a sudden rainfall, all you'll have to do is grab the coat hanger which is a lot quicker than having to unpeg each sock. Ti auguro un sicuro ritorno a casa!! xx - Google translate is great sometimes.
Hi..I Started watching your vlogs during lockdown...I was still working but you renovating that place in Italy was a refreshing view and an escape from all that was going on...Omg what a lovely place you have made it...Well done you and keep up the good work...FAB..👍x
Hi, Julie! Though I enjoy all of your content, I must confess that your Italian home videos are quite wonderful! Italy is my favorite travel destination (adore my Italian heritage), and I hope, one day, to find a casetta of my own in an Italian village where I can enjoy a Cafe Americano in the piazza on a lovely sunny day. 🌞🥰
I love your list Julie! We finally got to our "piccola casa" in Chianni at the start of September and are going through similar processes to you! However, I do have the fortunate advantage of speaking fairly fluent Italian...it does really help! We are totally in love with our village and are settling in amazingly. So glad I watched your series as you inspired me to look at more northern parts of Tuscany, which had never been in my sights beforehand. Un abbraccio forte...Marisa xoxox
What a wonderful vlog. That waterfall swimming area was spectacular. That village was so beautiful even in the rain. Hope you were able to get all your treasures at the flea market. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Love your beautiful Italian house, and hearing you speak Italian, Julie. You're really fluent! And very brave swimming in that cold water. However, I'm hearing more and more that it's very good to do this. So, every morning, after washing off in a warm shower, it ends in an icy cold rinse for about five minutes. It's really TOUGH! But I'm always glad AFTER I've done it. By the way, rainy days are my happy place 😬😳
Love your Italian vlogs because I can relate as I have my own Italian. “ casa per la vacanza” I always look out for your Italian vlogs. Love what you’ve done with your casa, so beautiful 😊
I loved this one Julie, thank you 😘 You are living my dream and thanks to your videos I get to know what it’s like to have a little place in Italy without leaving Tasmania 😁
Oh Julie! You have to buy a load of LARGE plastic coat hangers (the double ones with rounded edges and little hooks either side for pants / trousers) for your laundry. As I remove laundry from the washing machine, I place everything, except socks, towels, facecloths, dishcloths etc. straight onto hangers ... although tea towels also work on hangers, as do face and dish cloths if secure with pegs. Then I take it out to the line and secure each hanger with a clothes peg to prevent them from sliding towards the neighbour hangers. Everything dries MUCH faster, and seldom needs any ironing. It's also wayyyy easier to swiftly remove most if there's a sudden downpour. If anything is still slightly damp once removed ... simply hang up inside. You won't be sorry if you start doing likewise with your next wash. 🙏🥰 TIP: Hanger hooks MUST all face the same way ... facing forward, making swift removal (towards yourself) swiftest. 😁
FYI I bought Babble's lifetime subscription which not only allows me to brush up on my Spanish, but to learn any other language I choose. It's really cool.
I am new to your channel and loving it all, Julie. We spent two weeks in Tuscany this past summer, exploring small towns like the one you now own a beautiful little house in. I am tempted to follow in your footsteps and buy a place there, but I'm frightened at the same time! Living all the way in California makes it a bit of a trek to get back and forth, but one can dream! Or live through you! Haha!
Thank you for the update on your Italian villa! You are doing a lovely job restoring it; so tasteful! Your speaking Italian is amazing! Wonderful video!

We've used that framer in Filetto a number of times (we're in Pontremoli) and he does good work at good value. Convivium is a nice meal. At some point, you might want to wander up to Bagnone both for the town (quite beautiful and magical) and for Gugu (a restaurant) which recently got an award for one of the top restaurants in Italy. It's only been open two years, young brother and sister as owners, he's professionally trained. Quite good and very reasonably priced for the quality.

Everything looks like so much fun! Those prints are to die for. And the coffee looks good but so strong! Can you put a little milk or cream in it, or is that not done there?? Will you spend Christmas in your little house? I'll bet it's beautiful there then!
I love your episodes and updates! I remember when you first bought your house and wished to do the same. Congrats fam! I also purchased mine last months paid in cash. While watching this video I feel very proud of who I am and what I've accomplished. I'm glad I made a wise financial choice that changed me. I found your channel you rock💯
@Monica Dawin Here are some tips that helped me. 1. Plan towards it 2. Be frugal and minimal on spending (don't buywhy you don't need ) 3. Save money towards retirement (Roth IRA/401k) 4. Build an emergency fund 5. Save to in vest, this is the most important because it's a proven way to get richer. Very important to fina ncial success
@Monica Dawin there are numerous in vestment options, including real estate, cryp tocurrency, and stocks and ETFs, but my best recommendation is to work with a professional to help you choose one that will be profitable
@Stella Marcel I recommend the service of Rachel Blanc she's a good one i have been working with her for a good time she has been influential to my finan cial journey, i can highly suggest her service.
Absolutely wonderful Julie. I love the little place and the surrounding area. It reminds me of the little Italian place we went to just outside of Switzerland. If you ever get a chance to go to Switzerland, try the Red Lion restaurant in Kloten. It is absolutely delicious and the scenery is divine.
Love this little trip which feels like we are there with you; the stunning countryside, the tiny village and waterfall so close to your house which brings to life my childhood memories of growing up in a small village in France. I also love when Luke is filming you, it feels like the video/we are enveloped with all the love and familiarity that you both share. 💖

Congrats fam! I also purchased mine last months paid in cash. While watching this video I feel very proud of who I am and what I've accomplished. I'm glad I made a wise financial choice that changed me. I found your channel you rock💯
@Ma Theresa thank you sis
@Monica Dawin Here are some tips that helped me.
1. Plan towards it
2. Be frugal and minimal on spending (don't buywhy you don't need )
3. Save money towards retirement (Roth IRA/401k)
4. Build an emergency fund

You radiate happiness while there. 🙂It's fun to watch. Enjoy!

Beautiful. Reminds me the town Villafranca, Sicily where my grandfather was born. Thank you.
Oh I really enjoyed your video. Your house is so lovely and Italy is so magical. ✨
Thank you so much!
Julie this is a wonderful video and I have to say you have such good taste in furniture and lighting for your villa. Just a beautiful place 👏🏻♥️🇺🇸
Oh thank you!
We have just done the same as you in buying a house in Grasse (South of France). These new adventures are always so exciting!
I loved the rain shots…. I could sleep to that sound.
Can't wait to see the botanical prints up. They will be the perfect finishing touch. Thanks for sharing your Italian adventure.
I love how you can transform things into beauty and warmth . God bless you.
You are so represent a historical lover of all things restorative!
hey your italian is getting pretty good! Nice job! :-)
Thanks! 😃
Yeah!!! So glad another video of your Italian place. Another fantastic video. Wishing you and your family the absolute best!
Thank you! You too!
Italy is magical!
Just wonderful to see your progress. Lovely home!
Love those beautiful little towns in Italy! And of course the café Helvetico! Nomen est omen: if you can, please visit Zurich, would love to meet!
Julie you've made me spend hours on Italian property sites !!!! So many lovely properties for sale in that area...!!!
Beautiful scenery. Looked like you had the whole little town to yourself in the rain:)
Grazie...
Yay! Thank you for this! I appreciate this!
You are so welcome!
Lovely to see you....! Enjoying your content ~ quite refreshing in comparison!! One question: where are all the locals...?? Cheers from California =)
I might create a drinking game for the word literally ;) (j/k - really enjoy this video!)
Living here for only part of the year will lead to an extended lifespan. I love everything about Italy and hope to retire there eventually.
Love this! It’s like a mini vacation!
The Tuna looked amazing
How good is your Italian, Julie! When do you find time for ALL that you've been doing? Wow!
Please share what town and business names for flea market furniture and art framing! Thanks.
Yay one of my favourite things, another of your Tuscan house videos!
Thank you so much!
