- It has been more than 4 weeks since India's decision to revoke the decades-old special status of Jammu and Kashmir, by rescinding Article 370 of the constitution, which granted the disputed territory limited autonomy since 1947.
Ahead of its decision, the Indian government deployed thousands of troops to the region, which is already one of the most densely militarized areas in the world. Local officials say up to four thousand Kashmiris including business leaders, human rights defenders, and elected representatives have since been arrested. Some, have reportedly been tortured. The government denies these allegations and insists that the restrictions are necessary to maintain law and order and prevent violence.
Some protests in the Kashmir Valley have turned violent, with many Kashmiris anxious that Delhi’s unilateral move is intended to change the demographics of the state, from majority-Muslim to majority-Hindu.

Kashmiris say that Kashmir was always independent. This is historically incorrect, Kashmir was a Part of Ancient India even before Arabs or Turks arrived there. Mughal King Akbar who incorporated Kashmir into the Mughal Empire when Mughals invaded India.
Later, Kashmir was passed under Afghan, Sikh and ultimately came under the British. Maharaja Hari Singh, the Ruler of Kashmir seceded to India as a Sovereign State when Pakistan sent its Islamic Terrorists to invade Kashmir (Remnant Taliban Fighters from USSR War). Pakistan has nothing to do with Kashmir, Kashmir was never part of Pakistan in History.
The ideology of the militants and separatist leaders is Islamic fundamentalism. If Kashmir becomes independent, it will revert to the Dark Ages, with the regressive Sharia law enforced, women being to be forced to wear a Burqa and being stoned to death for adultery and so on.
According to some reports, Sufi Kashmir has been largely transformed into Wahabi Kashmir, and the situation will become much worse if India did nothing about tacking Wahaabi Cancer head-on. We Indians don't want ISIS next door !!!

thanks for understanding Hindu's plight...Article 370 was not removed to change the demography of the state..it was primarily done to counter cross border terrorism perpetrated by Pakistan..and also to ensure the state is developed like other states of the country..these Pakistani Muslims those who are crying foul about abrogation of this article and scared that Hindus will come and settle there didn't utter a single word during Hindu Genocide in 1990 in the Kashmir valley. Hindus were butchered and forced to flee Kashmir to other parts of India...not a single person spoke across this world...Now when that Pakistan nefarious intentions stand exposed they are doing their bit to internationalize this issue which is essential an internal matter for India..What they are saying is there land is actually a Hindu land and Hindus have all the right to move to this state and should not have any restrictions whatsoever..Also, India has been spending a lot of money on this state with no returns and no development which was because of this article 370...it is now taken care of...

article 370 being permanent was only an observation of a SC judge in a hearing, it was not a judgement of a bench.

You need to read the UN resolution on Kashmir first before stressing that abrogation of articles 370 and 35A goes against the plebiscite right of Kashmiris.
The entire UN resolution can be summarized in 3 key conditions.
Condition 1: Pakistan was supposed to take back all the tribesmen who entered Kashmir in 1947-48 to wage war against India and also ensure that Pakistan provides no material support to such men fighting against India.
Condition 2: Once Pakistani tribesmen have started to return and the condition of violence comes under control, then India will also pull back its forces from Kashmir but retain some to maintain the necessary law and order situation.
Condition 3: When both conditions 1 and 2 have been met, then arrangements for a plebiscite can be drafted.
Now, in response to Condition 1, Pakistan has not taken back its fighters/terrorists back. On the contrary, it has been always been pushing them across the Line of Control and border into India for carrying out terrorist activities. Therefore, condition 1 not met, hence, no question of going to condition 3 regarding plebiscite.
In response to Condition 2, terrorists have only one-way passage to India. Once they are in, they do not go back or are called back by Pakistan. They cause terrorist strikes so regularly in Kashmir (Pulwama, Uri etc) and elsewhere in India (Pathankot, Mumbai, Indian Parliament in Delhi etc.). There is an unending violence being unleashed by these terrorists from Pakistan into India. In such a scene, India cannot be expected to withdraw its forces from Kashmir. Therefore, condition 2 also not met, hence again, no question of jumping to Condition 3 regarding plebiscite.
Simple .......... isn't it?
Just a few corrections, brother. I'll try to answer them in points so you could read and understand them easily:-
1. Tribal forces and "Azad Kashmir Force (formed particularly by Kashmiris from Ponch district after Muslim Massacre of Hari Sings forces)" were not fighting against "India" but Hari Sing's forces who has wrongfully declared accession with India.
2. It was "India's" demand that Pakistan should evacuate and disband troops/ forces first. However, Pakistan's proposal (also accepted by UNSC but rejected by India) was to carry out withdrawal plan simultaneously that was a fair proposal in itself.
3. As regards acts of violence and espionage and related activities:
a. India trained and supported/ provided with weapons "The Mukti Bahni" in 1971.
b. Ongoing situation in Balochistan province is all but RAW funded.
c. PTM and such parties are supported and funded by RAW for destabilization of Areas adjacent to Afghanistan.
4. The point is, Indians don't have a Moral High Ground to cry "Thief" when pointing fingers towards Pakistan. Just because the whole world cries "Terrorism", you guys start shouting alongside them while pointing towards Pakistan. Yes, we are two enemy states and we will fight. There is no Moral High Ground for any of us. You bring your A game and we will bring in ours. Game is on since 1947.

Kashmir was independent in 1947 Pakistan military and tribals first attacked Kashmir. Then Maharaja with Sheikh Abdullah joined India hence came UN resolution of 1948 that resolution was breached by Pakistan when it attacked and crossed ceasefire line in 1965. UN resolution was ended by Pakistan. 1971 Shimla agreement was signed which made it a bilateral issue and only thing now left for Pakistan is to surrender Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir area to India like they surrendered East Pakistan area 😂😂😂..
