    Thanks Dan. Couldn't find the capped connector in the front frame area. You saved me lot of time pulling things apart. Can't see how removing the gas tank would have made the job that much easier

    Thanks for the very clear instructions on installing the heated grips. Other videos said the headlight needed to be removed and I’ve dreaded doing it until I saw your video. Found the plug and hooked mine up! Huge thank you!

      My pleasure,,, Most jobs can be done yourself, all it takes is a guiding hand, Why pay hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars when you can do most of it yourself,,,

    Very informative mate, thanks ! The 1290 SAS is the next bike - and that set up looks fairly straightforward - great that KTM have it all prepped and ready to go. Enjoy the riding! Cheers, Phil Nova Scotia 🇨🇦

      Glad to hear it,, think the grips from KTM cost around $300 but if you want them to fit them you will pay anywhere between $200 to $300 for the fitting,,, so it saves a lot of money,,, Thanks for your comments mate,, have a good one,,

    Thanks for the instructions. Howcome you had everything "unlocked"? Normally the dealer must unlock the functions. But what kind of language do you speak?

    • @kareemebanks3785
      @kareemebanks3785 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He explained it quite well. He said if your bike has the latest software, all the features should be unlocked, since it's plug and play!!!!!!

    Dan - was the blanked-off plug really just sitting there looking at you? I tried to fit mine today, and there's absolutely no sign ANYWHERE of the required plug........

    • @biker_dan
      @biker_dan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was hiding in amounts those wires, easily found though

    Good video Dan 👍

  • @ericmac564
    @ericmac564 ปีที่แล้ว

    You pinched the two white wires going to the grip in the housing. There’s a small channel that those white wires need to be routed through or they get pinched.

  • @professorchickenstrips5688
    @professorchickenstrips5688 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for the video Dan! I’m trying this myself and am having some trouble finding the wire plug to insert the grips into the bike. Any advice on how to find this? The manual online says that the gas tank needs to be removed and others are saying the headlight. You did this without removing either, right? Thanks again for the video!

    • @biker_dan
      @biker_dan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As you sit on the bike, go to the right hand side and the plug is just inside the frame. You can easily pull it out once you see it.

    Thanks for the video installed mine followed your film,I think I need the dealer to activate mine though

    • @biker_dan
      @biker_dan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should activate itself,, there should be a selection to turn them on,, then a diferent selection for settings etc,,, If it doesnt show up then pop into dealer, they should do it for you easiy enough

    Thanks for the video.
    As a warning, my grips did not work right away. Nowhere to be found in the menues.
    2020 SAS - European model if that makes any difference.
    Perhaps I don’t have the latest software?
    Bike was bought brand new in August 2020.

    • @biker_dan
      @biker_dan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes mine is the European version also, some have had to get the software update but KTM should do that free of charge.

    • @fredrikbengtsson4050
      @fredrikbengtsson4050 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@biker_dan Just came back from my dealer.
      Can confirm the software needs to be turned on in some cases.
      My bike had the heated seat on when it was delivered, but I had no heated seat.
      The dealer simply hooked it up and set all the accessories to “installed” and now it works.
      Thank you for the videos! Enjoying watching them trying to understand your fabulous English, challenging for a Swede like me 😃

    Isn’t necessary to get the bike to the dealer so they unlock the software and activate the heated grips?

    • @biker_dan
      @biker_dan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you install them you just go to settings to activate them... No need to go to dealer.

      I don't find mine to be super warm ? Are they supposed to be very warm ? They show on on my tft - but don't notice heat ? Although my hands also haven't gotten cold per say. Maybe the dealer needs to do something

    Thanks for the video! One thing to note is that you did not install the throttle wires correctly. That small tab must be inserted into a slot inside the housing. You can see that in this image.

    Hope this helps anybody doing the install.

    Thanks for the video i combined it with the manual to install mines, just a remark, at th-cam.com/video/aFiQbXWbTGE/w-d-xo.html 11:39 the installation is wrong, Catch B engages in driver C like in the manual.
