    Great video. I couldn’t find the switch location anywhere and ended up just throwing the switch loose under the pillion seat. New job this weekend to install the switch now. Thanks and good channel.

      Hello my friend. Thank you ever so much for the positive feed back and liking the channel. It's always appreciated to hear from people. Particularly if they find I have helped them. And thanks for taking the time to comment! Top guy! I am never going to be a Revzilla or a Fortnine.. Just me and my bike or bikes tinkering in the workshop. So its kinda amazing to hear and see how people have taken to the chanenel to be honest! - Good luck with the drilling :)
      Cheers again

    once again, thanks for the video. I also used your install guide to save me time and effort on installing heated seats. I am just waiting for my hdb hand guards to show up and will put on heated grips. Haven't found your video for those yet.

      Hi again MT! No worries.. I am pleased you managed to figure out there is a video library section with around 80 vids there. I do get asked often if I could do a quick vid on stuff I have already done :)
      As for the grips.. nope never did one as that was the only option I had included with the bike when collected so was pre installed. However just a tip... the white connector you want is usually found mixed in with all the cables tucked under the headstock/in front of the air filter etc. if you are lucky it should be visible and can be fished out. BUT I have heard some instances they have been pushed deep inside.... requiring all the panels and the fuel tank to come off to find it.. (I hope you don't have one of those)... In any case there's a vid on the fuel tank removal there too (and also part of the Aux lights install vid shows how to as well).
      Cheers

    Hi Ricardo
    I just received the front and pillion heated ergo seat, and my switch came with a little cover (separate) which indicates 0 in the middle, 1 on the one side and 2 on the other side. It also finishes the switch installation nicely.

    Perfect video for me for the missing pillion seat…
    I’ve to check if I can use the same position for the switch because I installed behind that cover the oil pump for the chain oiling system (CLS - it’s in the neighborhood) … maybe I’m running out of space
    It seem that I‘m some two weeks behind you for delivery😂 - driver seat installed on last Saturday and tested today… Result is a „buy it“ .
    So - as soon as I see the crash bar video I will be a happy driver🤟

Yes there is no manual and my dealer didn’t even know there was a switch for the rear seat and had no idea about how to install. Very surprised! Anyway it seems very straightforward just take time! Hey Rick, was the heated seats option engaged by programming by the dealer? Mine wanted to charge €50,- for just engage the heated seat option.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Rene! Thanks for the comment! No I did not have to. I just added it via the settings screen. However later on I understand that even though I did not order the rear heated seat at the same time as the original bike order. And also I did not have "at the time" the delivery of my ordered heated front seat. They must have installed the software pre -delivery (without seats) and this also must cover the ability for both front and rear seats. So when I installed my seats at home I was under "the impression" that there was no need for a dealer to be paid to unlock. But it appears you do I think.
      Many thanks

      @@RicardoYeep so you were lucky! Good for you. Recently had (high&heated) seats ordered in Germany, because no seats available here in Netherlands. For me, the seat installed mechanically very difficult and ia am not impressed by the fit-gap between the tank and the riders seat. Next to that, i find the (gel?) insert not my cup of tea, so send them directly back to that dealer. (Allowed refund by webshop rules in Germany)
      Planned to have the local seat builder fit-in a heating matt in both OEM seats, have orange stitching also added and fit a off/1/2 switch on the bike myself, than pay the fee at the dealer. I will let you know and send you pics when the job is done.
      Have happy Christmas holidays an thanks for your videos 👍

      Hiya yes mate all very lucky it seems! I agree fully that the seat mechanics to remove and replace the seats are crazy. Mine is so difficult to take on and off it drives me mad. However my low version does not have the gap issues you mention near the tank. Overall I am happy and the heat is quite good and ride is softer than the stock seat. But definitely sounds the best idea if you can afford a custom job!! I am thinking of paying a specialist too just to add a custom finish.. I will see. YES let me know how you get on when all is done! And thank you kindly for the seasons greetings and enjoying the channel. Much appreciated!
      take care and have a great new year!

    I was hoping for a comparison between the original seat and this low seat as far as how much foot you can get on the ground.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hiya. There is probably about 10mm diff. But its the shape of the seat that allows you to straighten your legs easier making it feel like its lower.. You can get better "reach" to the ground however the seat height from memory I recall seeiming exactly the same in the centre of the seat when compared to the standard seat. BUT the powerpart seats are to me at least 30% more comfortable (softer). Hope that helps! Thanks Ric

    Wouldn’t it be possible to connect both rider and pillion heated seats to the rider connection in order to avoid to have to install that ugly passenger control switch at the side?

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One for the KTM R&D team. However if it was through the console then it would require the passenger to bother the rider everytime they want it on, off, setting 1 or 2. At least the current design they have complete control. I guess the approach "substance over form" resides on this one which I would have to side with. But yeah its not the prettiest :)

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there! Unfortunately I received my bike already installed so I did have to do it. However the white connection is hidden in the cables tucked underneath the yoke/clamps. You may need to remove the tank to find the connector if it is not easily accessible. Again it should all be plu and play. the issue is finding the connector.
      Good luck!

    I waited 3.5 months for both my seats to arrive only to be told by the dealer they didn't know where the switch went so called ktm uk who didn't know the called ktm Austria and I waited 3 hours for a return call which didn't come and still waiting for that call 3 weeks later because they didn't want to effect the warranty by putting it the obvious place where yours is .

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello my friend! Thanks for the enlightening comment! WOW... So sounds like your dealer was not trained, KTM UK response was pss poor and should know this as from what I have been told it is similar to other models (so is nothing new.. But I cannot clarrify that). And very poor you still have not been contacted 3 weeks later. Sounds like a comedy of errors to be fair.
      I have had to wait as long as you in all fairness.. And I have to say I called two dealers and not one could exactly tell me "pinpoint" me to where the wiring was. And supplier of the seat even almost threw the switch away as they didn't expect a switch in the box and it was hidden under a fold in the box. They expected it to all be like the rider seat and controlled in the menu. I had a call to come collect the switch but had no clue how to wire it. And there were no instruction online or in the box.
      I had to figure this out at home. To me it was common sense but am very disappointed you buy £330 worth of seats and get no fitting guide. And non of the dealers I asked openly tell you or dont know when questioned on the spot how to do this.
      Anyway I bet your not too impressed. Given I have shown its a 20/30 min job tops if you take your time

    Hi Ricardo, very good work and vids!! Big fan! I'm also an owner of a 1290 SAS and I've low stature, I blame my fathers for that :). Could be worst right? Can you kindly share your feedback and comparison between the standard seat and the lower/heated seat? Our bikes are well known for having a hard seat, for default, and I need to improve the comfort. Appreciate your comment/feedback.

    • @RicardoYeep
      @RicardoYeep  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning Jorge! Thank you kindly for the feedback and time to comment. HAHA yes I blame both father and mother (both short).. Firstly Regarding the PILLION seat its definitely softer and a much recomended upgrade if you care for your pillion :). The Standard one is like concrete in comparison. The heat too is very efficient and is quite hot once warmed up. However I am not sure of this heat efficiancy during freezing or extreme cold and how much will be lost. (same as rider seat and heated grips.. Winter will be good test).
      I think best way to kind of show you what I mean is look at the below video from 1m 7 sec and I tried to show how mush softer the Power Part seat is. its not very scientific but you will see what I mean (hopefully). I would get the Power Part seat for sure. However it does look different so ideally neead the PP rider seat to match if you can.
      RIDER SEAT Well its again definitely a softer construction same as the Pillion seat comparison above. However It is not in my opinion a lower seat "physically". I have asked my friends to help me check as I want to be sure. But I believe the seat centre is actually pretty much the same height as the standard seat. (Yeah I know that sounds odd given the name is LOW seat). Anyway From looking at it and examining the feel of its structure and sitting on it I have come to conclusion that you actually are able to reach the floor slightly better due to the seat having a "narrower" cut compared to the standard seat which feels wider. By being narrower this allows the legs to extend more easily a little more giving the impression the seat is lower.. (as you gain more leg extension). But again the seat centre I dont think is any different in my opinion.
      Hope that helps.
      Cheers

      @@RicardoYeep Once again, thank you for your comments and feedback.
      RIDER SEAT: Yes I understand your point, physically the seats are having the same height but taken into consideration the materials (probably GEL... I'm guessing) it's softer than reduces the height to the floor. But the important feedback is, it's softer, comfortable and it's a Plus to our Bikes, right?
      PILLION SEAT: to be honest I'm a practical guy and, on my Bike, I will not be in the Pillion seat :D. To ride with my wife, I will use the car :D. Simple. From the vids, I've not been socked between the difference and combo of Rider Heat Seat + Standard Pillion... I'm also a bit cheap HAHAHAH.
      Please continue with the good work, reviews and experiences! It's a blast! good rides!

    I was googling about this damn switch mounting place, and crawled to Ricardo's channel such way. Why KTM does not provide any manual about this?
    On the other hand - why separate switch? And so ugly... It's not a big deal to ask your rider to heat your bottom, if needed, huh?
