    Parents must limit their screen time is a well known fact. No need to say it. But being consistent with child like what he insists is the key.

      So true. If parents use a lot phones, children will do too. And its harder to tell them no. Parents should definitely show example in the first place.

      Yes the best solution is that parents should limit usage of electronics. Take your kid out or let them read books or just engage them in something else.

      Mostly they give phone to the kid because, to keep him calm and at one place so that they can do their jobs at home.

    Sir, you have covered much in 8+ mins. You tried to touch most of the points and it's very productive. I appreciate your effort to come up with this topic. I have read some comments here, yes completely agree that the change should start from the parents. We parents, stopped getting our phones to the dinning table, and my children follow the same. They don't anymore nag about getting i- pads when dining. We used to give my older kid a phone while driving but now we made it a strict NO, and rather play some games like 'I- Spy' or reading books. We too don't use phones while in the car (passenger seat) unless it's important or emergency. There are several ways to prevent/ control the issue and it takes just a clean and willful mind to start implementing. Parents, don't loose hope, keep trying and trust your children.

    Show them they HAVE to abide. By this i DON'T mean hit and try to kill them. I mean, show your love to them and make sure you are FIRM in your rules that you set. No threats, just the rules to be followed. Love them, don't put conditional love on kids, they don't deserve so much stress.
    If you are here, then maybe I can say that you are here because you already know that you execute these things and are here to change some aspect; or in the end, you are here to become better.

    Thank you for sharing this video; my child is only 3 years old and she is addicted to the mobile phone watching videos on TH-cam. If we take the phone away from her, she starts throwing a tantrum which is very annoying. We try to not lose our cool but at times we have to shout OR wack her to behave. This is still not helping us anyway; but it's hard to blame the child too as schools are closed and they don't have their peer group to interact with in person

    Hello sridhar,
    You really spoke well about the burning problem today's parents are facing....screen time.
    But I would like to add that even 2-3 hrs of documentary watching is not necessary for kids. Instead they can do other productive things like reading books. It's a very good habbit which kids these days r not aware of.

  • @manishd6
    @manishd6 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Please develop a video targetting children that they can watch and learn. This should be in the language that they usually speak abd undestand. Not completely prescriptive but tactfully highlight the drawbacks of excess screen time. This will be too beneficial for children and a great service to humanity and our future generation.

    Now a days elders who are retired people they started screening. They are addicted to TV and phones. When these younger kids come home we parents can't say to elders. The elders play emotional game. They say we are watching all this now a days. In your childhood we missed everything. So please leave us alone and also say its OK beta. He is too young. He will learn later.

    FIRST OF ALL
    if the parents are not organised then definitely the kids never going to be an organised manner. In Indian culture ,our schools are teach many things in their syllabus. but most important thing they don't teach common sense,manners, punctuality,dedication,and honesty. this is the same way we grown up, that's why we are facing lot of troubles in our day to day life. In my understanding, parents should make a note for kids in day basis it includes Dailey activities,toileting,schooling preparation. Once kids start follow the note they will be organised in long term.
