happy for the honesty in your video. I saw this made by you guys and got one delivered today and was like crap. I made a bad decision, then watched and relieved the cons are not as bad as I was expecting. I have a 2014 acura TL, raining here in michigan and testing it out tomorrow to see why my car has a rough Idle, I am hoping an O2 sensor and not cylinder misfire. I don't feel like doing a full tune up if i dont have to lol.

I think the 5160 RS is a decent scantool for the money. It doesn't do cylinder balance tests on my 07 Toyota but it does provide enough data to make a diagnosis.

This video makes me feel bad about purchasing this scanner.☹️ I'm a home mechanic who works on my own cars. Is this tool a good match for someone like me who works on my own cars and my families cars? I just paid 400 bucks for this tool with the obd1 adapters with it from Amazon.

I`ve had the 5610 for a couple years and was looking to upgrade.
I`ve read the reviews on the Innova 7111 from experienced people who bought it and they're not good
compared to Xtool, Autel, Launch, and Top Don.
    I expected more from Innova.

I was suprised that the 5610 did not work on a 2005 isuzu pickup that is the same as a Chevrolet Colorado.

What is the model and engine size of your Isuzu pickup? I'm assuming the model is NPR. The 5610 will only read and clear check engine codes for 1996 and newer OBD2 certified Isuzu vehicles. The 5610 should be able to support check engine live data and battery/alternator test on a 2005 as well. All the advanced features will not be supported.
If the 5610 will not support the vehicle at all, check the "VECI" (Vehicle Emissions control Information) label under the hood of vehicle. Even though the Isuzu truck has the same engine as the Chevy Colorado, if the GVW is over 8500 lbs., the vehicle may not be OBD2 certified. The weight requirement for OBD2 certification changed around 2010 to allow heavier diesel vehicles to become OBD2 certified.

@@InnovaAuto just talked to my son, the truck is a 2006 i-280, four cylinder engine. Does that shed any light on the subject?

Does the 5610 read "Unable to establish communication" or "Error" when connected to vehicle? Our tools are designed to connect with just the ignition turned to the "ON" position, however, some vehicles may need to have the engine running in order for our tools to establish communication. If the truck is in running condition, get the engine running 1st, then connect the 5610 2nd. It's fine to have the engine running while our tools are connected. A lot of customers like to drive around with the 5610 connected to monitor live data for check engine, ABS, SRS, TPMS, and transmission. If the vehicle doesn't crank and start, the 5610 will not establish communication with it.
If the 5610 still has issues, please give our customer service line a call at (800)544-4124. We are open M-F 6am-6pm PST.

@@InnovaAuto I don’t remember what it said, this was back in October. We don’t live in the same state so I can’t go try it to refresh my memory. I do remember that it powered up normally

I need to be able to go in and set new custom parameters in order to go to larger throttle bodies, injectors, yada-yada-yada ... Can I do that with this?

    • @InnovaAuto

Unfortunately, the 5610 doesn't support setting or modding new custom parameters

@@InnovaAuto What would I have to step up to to be able to do that?

    • @InnovaAuto
      @InnovaAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

We do not make or sell any handheld scanners or tablets that will set new customer parameters yet.
For example, when installing bigger injectors, you'll have to alter the scaling and latency parameters in the ECU to match the new, bigger injectors. In order to properly tune your new injectors, you must be able log the fuel trims.

@@InnovaAuto Exactly. Yes, I know what I want to do, but looking for the best value. So far, I am thinking Xtool and their BD8 might be able to do it.
