For 70 years it was actually a Queendom
People can say all they can about Charles , even tough I haven’t been a fan of him , but I do have empathy for his loss , you can see in his eyes the pain of losing his mother . This speech was very poignant and beautiful.

What a wonderful first speech from King Charles iii dedicated to his loving Mother & Queen. I cried when he spoke about Prince William especially when he pronounced William & Kate The Prince & Princess of Wales. I hope I live long enough to see them become King & Queen Consort.
I also shed a tear when he spoke with such love about Camilla The Queen Consort. They really are a beautiful loving family.

It was unexpected even at her age. She will never be forgotten not only because she was queen but because she was the best monarch i can think of. A legendary reign we all lived to see. And honestly i feel like charles will be a good king. He is mature and not a child anymore. I trust him and i hope he does a good job. God save the King. Feels weird to say that when my granparents were born the queen ruled the Empire. Now she doesnt. The first time i hear the new old anthem is going to feel so strange and unnatural.

I in the past did not look favorable to King Charles due to all the problems concerning my princess Diana and Camilla but I changed my mind . We are all imperfect beings everyone of us and so is King Charles ! I am an American and I admit, during Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's life, I had some reservations about how Charles would do when he became King. If this First Speech as King is any indicator, Great Britain is in good hands! God Bless The King!

It won't happen. One Oliver Cromwell tried that and Republicanism, and look where that got him.
I was worried about the coronation. I feared that it could look ridiculous unless done on a large enough scale with all participants believing in what they were doing. Unfortunately, they chose not to have the foreign royalty wearing tiaras etc or our own royal ladies. Same with the robes and coronets. This made the King and Queen stand out like oddities. However, I found it deeply moving and genuine.
