      No Human Deserves More Privilege Because Of The Family They Were Born Into'
      I think the monarchy should be abolished because it's an institution created to be the physical embodiment of classism. And the only reason it survived this long and up until today is because of centuries of exploitation, slavery, racial violence and theft of resources from places all over the world. Yet Queen Elizabeth II-or any other ruling monarch-not only never issued an official apology for everything they've done and stolen, but not even acknowledged the past. Even in the 20th century, for instance, what happened in Kenya during the anti-colonial Mau Mau Rebellion.
      Besides, no human being is born better or worse than any other human being. And no human being deserves more privilege and more rights simply because they happen to be born in the 'right' family. I honestly find it baffling that so many people still disagree with that and are happy to support all this royal glitz and glamour largely funded from their own pockets.
      I have always felt this way about the monarchy. Even as a little kid I couldn't quite get what's the purpose of having an institution that seems so archaic and only furthers the divide between the ultra-rich, the ultra-privileged and us, the 'commoners.' Or rather the 'subjects.'
      I find it bizarre that some people from the colonized commonwealth countries do not want to become a republic and like the queen. A lot of places across the Commonwealth suffered a great deal, even in the last century and even during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. In countries like Canada or Australia, indigenous children continued to be stolen and forced to go through 'residential school' systems until the 1990s.
      And yet, once again, there were no reparations. Or apology.
      Katie Jagielnicka, 28, from London

    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Ready Player Two THAT is only an evangelical and Baptist (among certain few select other) denomination points of view mostly prevalent in the United States. Which they created themselves WAY after most of the mainstream Christian faiths were established INCLUDING the Anglican Church. And this viewpoint really is not compatible with the Bible. They did this to justify their OWN atrocities like slavery for instance (the Southern Baptist Church was founded principally on that basis).
      I'm Catholic and we, along with other mainstream protestant denominations such as the Presbyterians, Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, etc. hold that it is not enough simply to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven. One can believe in Him and sin (lets face it we ALL do) but have NO remorse for that sin or ask God for forgiveness for that sin and we will NOT get into Heaven.
      You must have faith, you must do good works on earth, you must be remorseful when you do wrong and you must ask forgiveness for your sins EVERY time you sin. Whilst you are throwing out Bible quotes to justify your misguided position, here are a few MORE for you to prove what most other Christians believe,
      Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. James 2:24
      And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
      I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
      Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
      Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. Matthew 25:40-45.
      If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. John 1:9
      “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21
      For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it. James 2:10
      Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” Matthew 19:21
      And behold, a man came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 19:16-26
      And believe me, the way people lie today about others, especially these people who think they automatically get into Heaven just by accepting Jesus and the fact that he died on the cross, I don't think Heaven will be all that crowded!

    • @retroguy9494
      @retroguy9494 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Ready Player Two I never said salvation was NOT Biblical. But its only PART of how you go to Heaven. Plus I never said you could buy your way into Heaven.
      But you are 100% wrong about simply believing in Jesus to get to Heaven. Or to ask only once upon accepting him to forgive your sins. That makes no sense. It means, basically, that you can spend the rest of your life sinning and it won't matter because you'll still go to Heaven
      Plus, you CANNOT discount or throw out the Bible quotes I wrote, some of them spoken by Jesus Himself!
      Answer me ONE question. Why is it that people like YOU only believe in the parts of the Bible that suit your own needs and not ALL the parts collectively? Why would Jesus have said those other things if they did not matter?

    Watching from Germany to get the original audio. I'm in my thirties, the Queen was a constant presence in my life and one of the few public figures I actually respected. She was steadfast in her beliefs but not stubborn. She didn't resist change, she didn't advocate for change, she accompanied, guided and molded it. As a German, even though my parents themselves were still children back then, I'm grateful for her visit to our nation in 1967 and the hand of friendship and forgiveness she extended to us back then. Let us all learn from her example.

Throughout this 5 decades, I have seen nothing but compassion, love, understanding and grace from her. She had been inspiring for me and I am sure, many others around the world. May we endeavor to deserve it.

    Beautiful speech.
    I feel for King Charles at this sad time. He's lost his beloved mum but duty beckons and he has to do what he must do, put on a brave face and grieve privately when he can.
    RIP dear Queen Elizabeth, you will always be remembered and missed. ♡♡♡

      Yes dude. I know what that's like. I had lost most of my family, including the only 2 people who I know loved me unconditionally by the time I was 31. That was many many years ago. Yes, it DOES hurt. Especially since I'm a bachelor. Its like a hole in your heart that never stops sucking you into it.

      @Roz Johnson It depends on HOW you live into your 90's. My mother died in her early 60s'. My father is now in his 90's but he has the dementia. I was trying to care for him, but it got SO bad I finally had to place him in an assisted living where he can get profession care around the clock.

    That was pretty amazing. Something any people should be proud of. If only all world leaders/figureheads were so well spoken, focused, eloquent, and compassionate. Inspiring is the only 1 word I can think of that encompasses this address.

    That was an excellent speech. He hit all the right notes and it's good that he didn't wait and make William and Catherine Prince and Princess of Wales. When they attend Earthshot at the end of the year, they can be introduced like that. Obviously he had to say something about Harry, even with the pain he's caused. And it's made it clear to the UK public that Harry won't be coming back and that his life is now outside of the UK. The British public must have cheered at that.

    The new king even sounds magisterial, speaking in his deeply sonorous, resonating voice. Amazing how he is able to offer words of comfort and solace to so many others grieving the death of Queen Elizabeth II, while in the midst of sorrowing the deeply personal loss of the Sovereign who was his own mother. 💔
    God bless & save the new monarch, King Charles III.
