Absolutely a gem 💎when David brings out new video, there isn’t a day that I don’t learn something new from TTA channel and his teaching is a blessing art
Recently moved to MAC Mini M-2. I have been a PC user for 40 years and during this past holiday my daughter convinced me to replace my 8 year old PC with a MAC MINI M-2 and complete my APPLE eco environment. Since the MAC MINI M-2 works with native MS Office 360 I made the switch and never looking back. Still exploring how MAC works and your TH-cam "Tech Talk America" videos are very helpful from Music through file management. Thanks
Hi Thank you for nice video, I have question how we can see attachment in apple email like in MS Outlook. I dont want to see as pictures or way way down below just need to see as attached :) thank you in advance
Hi David. I don't have the Apple ID logo in system preference like you show to access hide my email. I'm running macOS High Sierra. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade OS any more. Where would I find the setting to use hide my email?
Is MailButler able to copy and keep emails? Since there is a"free" version maybe they "read" the emails and sell info? Thinking privacy is more important than a minor convenance to me. The extension does sound interesting though. Some cool hacks as well in this video. Thank you.
I don’t have a Mac computer but mostly use my iPad Pro & iPhone for mail. The problem with the apple mail app on my devices, even when I delete a message, it’s not actually deleted. Is there a setting I’m missing? I don’t have this problem when I use the third party app for aol (please don’t judge me) & Comcast but I’d prefer to use Apple mail if I could delete a piece of mail for good. Thanks for all the videos you share. I’ve been subscribed to your channel for many years.
I’m saving this video for sure in my library- I do let my emails get out of control. This will be so much easier to delete or file those emails. I do have a lot of mailboxes. Going to signature and for sure alias email. I shop online a lot. Thanks again
I have a different Apple mail issue for which I know I'm the only Mac user in the world with this issue. So I understand if you don't have an answer for me. Whenever anyone using any other email client sends a calendar invite, there is no option to accept it. Nor does the reverse work when I send an invite. It isn't very pleasant to have to send an email saying I will be in the Teams meeting. I guess my Mac doesn't want to accept anything from Microsoft. As I said I'm the only one having this problem and no one else I've asked seems to have an answer. I do like watching your videos. Thanks
Omg column view is GAMMMME CHANGERRRR! I've had Apple mail forever and, well, how have I not ever known about it LOL?! Thank you for making my life easier today so I could quickly manage my > 600 unread emails 😂 Great tips as always. Thanks so much!!
I have 107,393 and a week ago I have 112, 546 emails. Looking forward to learning what you have to teach here. How I drop almost 5k is looking at them highlighting one and scrolling down and down and highlighting and than hitting delete. Let's say I find one I want to keep I go up one and than highlight that one than hit delete. And than I do this system all over again. I am 67 years old and not that tech savvy
Really great info as usual and a big thanks. I have a request, Im having major problems syncing my contacts between devices. I create a contact on my iPhone and it doesn't show in my laptop, and vice versa. Even Apple cannot fix it over the phone. Are you able to make a video advising how to set it up so it seamlessly works between devices. Thanks again ...
I know what the issue is but I wouldn’t make a video about it. If you’d like to book a session with me I’d be happy to help. techtalkamerica.com/techtherapy
Also, I have probably 1.5TB of various Apple Photo libraries that I'd like to combine. I realize you've created several; tutorials on marrying photo libraries. Do you have one tutorial in particular that captures all the deets, including any paid apps to assist? Thank you.
David I’ll be over that Feature Hide my email…like a rash … for both my junk email an my private email…..top man many thanx from across the pond …Gary in Manchester UK ..😉😉😉😉
OMG. This is crazy helpful, especially with that "Hide My E-mail" feature. My inbox is filled every day with junk e-mail that I can't get to stop--event with the "Block this email" feature.
Question, if I do not turn off a particular HIDE MY EMAIL address, will it still prevent other companies from sending me emails to the same address that have been sold or shared with other companies?
David- Your videos have made learning my Mac so much easier when I started 6 years ago. THANK YOU!! I love the hide my email feature. But if my email is sold to a marketing company how would I know which company I need to stop forwarding?
Glad you enjoy my videos. You'd be able to see the address it was sent to (if you're using iCloud) so you could look it up through there. I believe (this is from memory) at the top of the email, it states whether or not it was sent to a Hide My Email address, and from there you can see exactly which one.
Hi David, thank you for your wonderfully informative tutorials. Two questions, I may (1) Can we color code Apple Mail client folders or emails, and or will it work on iOS and macOS? (2) For Apple Mail (as an email client) with multiple email addresses, do they populate on iOS and macOS? Thank you, and please keep up the great work. PS: If you have a tutorial that dives deep into a more visually appealing Apple Mail client, please post that link.
So I had a holiday with nothing to do and literally did exactly this. Replaced all my accounts with Hide my Email (HME). Took about 3 solid days of grinding to do it. It hasn't made a major difference yet since all companies are much more secure but maybe there'll be a hack in 10 years that'll spill nothing but HMEs that I can easily change anyway.
I love using hide my email until I had a refund issue. You can’t send a new email from a specific hide my email address, you can only reply to emails sent to that address and you can’t CC or add additional emails to send to.
Doesn't work on MacBook Air or Apple iPhone 14. Settings have been updated. Now you have to buy additional email addresses. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.
20k (I know don’t at me Disibility previously prevented me from keeping up) and whole 💩the spam you just saved me 🙏 I’m correctly cleaning out my mailbox I just dot it to drop down by 2 ish k
I'd like to know the answer to this as well. This changed in the last year. I used to get notified immediately, but now it can take many minutes. I've had to move a lot of time sensitive mail to my gmail account and use their app. At least it still does the immediate notification.
Go to mail settings. You can choose every 15 minutes up to every hour intervals; or just drain your battery and irradiate yourself with"Push" where the phone checks the server 60 times a minute. I use every 15m & after 8pm to 8 am every hour. Never had an issue.
About spam: This video is a year old. At the time of making iCloud hosted custom domains were already a thing! Get your personal domain to keep regardless of email provider going forward! Use that address as your permanent address and combine with hide my email as mentioned in the video. You can buy a domain or use one you already own right from your Mac or iOS device from the icloud settings under mail, custom domain! And should you decide to change email provider in the future you can take your domain and email address with you! In the iCloud world you can share personal email addresses with the same domain with up to 5 people and you can have multiple domains connected!
Dave, I really appreciate YOUR approach to training. So much so that I am looking at scheduling some time with you in the near future. But I want to be prepared with questions instead of just discussing random issues. You are the best on TH-cam in terms of communications, subject matter and elementary understanding of your content. I am a professional coach myself in the entertainment arena and so I obviously understand the preparations of doing these videos. Thank you for being out there offering such wonderful tips and tricks.
Thank you, David. (1) My inbox (20,000 of which I had deleted up to January 1, 2021 last year out of frustration) today went from 1800 to 17, reserving important, previously buried, emails to which I want to respond. For now, I made theme mailboxes to file emails I might need (having lost my husband after a serious, protracted illness). It felt healing to "clean out" emails that were part of whom I was, as I discover whom I am moving forward. (2) That new mail sound! You explore these programs in a way we don't have time; thank you! (3) Also, I appreciate your addressing Hide My Email. I was suspicious of using it without research, and now have the confidence and instructions to take advantage of it (already receiving tons of weird spam in 2022). I have no idea why I started receiving your video notification emails again, and I am grateful.
My friend needs to watch this. She has over 100,000 emails in her mailbox because she subscribes to everything then goes crazy trying to clear them out one at a time. She is always afraid she will "lose something important" it's like being on a hamster wheel because for every 50 she deletes 150 come back.
Thanks for the great information. I remember following you many years ago (I had a Mac 512K computer in the 1980’s and many more versions since.) As things get more complicated, it becomes more important to have your input.
@@RachelleKS My experience, and that of many others, is problems with sending emails via Gmail from Apple Mail. You may be lucky and not had such problems, but I did and Apple seems unable to address this common problem so I use Airmail now instead with no such problems.
Come on. Be nice. He put a lot of effort into this excellent video and many of your fellow humans found it very helpful. The Paste plug was actually helpful. I had unsubscribed when they went subscription but I am going to re-subcribe to Paste because it is helpful and worth it. By the way, what did you do today to help others today

David... Thanks for all of your videos. I'm a longtime mac user (1985) and I'm learning things whenever you post a new video. All the best.

Please tell me how to get the transcript at same time as video. Not showing up as a choice on the ellipsis on top or anywhere else. Thanks, Cyndi
Wonderful video , glad I saved it will be using . Thanks

Excellent excellent excellent! Thank you. I would love to see videos about automating your life. I’m sure you have some great tips up your sleeve.
Does Mailbutler work like Google Tasks can you make notes and tasks from iOS
I have been an apple “person” for a long time. You provided me so much great info in this video.
131 but 78 unread. I get rid of a lot of them because they are ads. Well your last tip really helped me. Thanks

Great video. I had no ide about the first tip/column view. I can easily use that from time to time to help sorting group emails.
Thanks David great ideas for Apple Mail.
as usual, awesomeness!!!! Will these tips work with my FIVE (I do have one iCloud account) gmail accounts???
David - Another excellent video. Keep 'em coming.
I NEVER knew there was an apple mail column layout! OMG, game changer. Now I don't have to go back to Outlook or gMail :)
Great tips, thanks

You rock, buddy!
this method works great with outlook and gmail!

great video! I'm an inbox zero person. I currently have only 6 emails on my app.all great tips . tip#1 is the my favorite .
Still looking into setting up a new icloud email from my phone. Not finding it.
Was looking how to sync my emails so when I delete them on my phone or my Mac Pro they come off both devices. At the same time.
That has to do with IMAP vs POP protocol. If you need assistance: techtalkamerica.com/techtherapy
