    Really appreciate that Gary acknowledges everyone doesn't have the same objectives or preferences. As an old-timer (first purchased computer was a Commodore 64, had to program it myself in BASIC), one of my pet peeves is how software/applications have tended to group functionality by pre-defined "use cases" that invariably are not applicable to what I want/need. Also commend Gary for his efficient, no BS, no "hey guys, how's it going?" approach to instrucitonal/informative videos. Best there is.

    Wow! This was ne of the best spent 9:30 minutes on a Mac-tutorial.
    Having been a Windows user for decades (with an old MacBook in my private arsenal), I was really struggling with getting my mails organized in a more convenient way. This video solved it all for me - Thanks so much!

    Thank you Gary. This solved a couple other mail issues I've been wondering about. Very. much appreciated. (Still transitioning from Windows).

    Makes sense and been using the Conversations thing for years. One annoyance, though, is when someone replies and sends an attachment. The attachment does not show on the reply but waaaaay down at the bottom of the beginning of the conversation. Is there a way to have the attachments show as being attached to the relevant email and not show up at the bottom of ALL emails? Thx!

    7:00 THANK YOU. Oh man, this has been driving me nuts. I don't know why they started showing up with the latest at the bottom, but it's been really annoying.

    Thank you❤. There is one drawback in Mac Mail convo view. Inhave a support thread with BenQ over crappy monitor they sent me. This one, spans over several months. What I noticed, mac mail breaks in blocks, depending on how far a long they go back. So, it would show a block or n July, block in May and etc.As always, thank you for your time.

    Hello Gary. A few points on Apple Mail: no keyboard shortcuts and can’t add more? such as for send later and else. I love to have shortcuts for everything. Also, smart folders don’t sync with iOS devices? (Hence, won’t you be able to set email notifications based on smart folders?) also, wondering if Send Later and Snooz will need the computer to be on to work or if it relies on servers? just trying to find an app to use for mail that is frictionless.

    • @macmost
      @macmost  หลายเดือนก่อน

      They really should have Send Later in the Message menu so you could have it be a keyboard shortcut. Send them feedback and let them know you want it. Since Sent Later and Snooze work with any email account, they can't rely on servers. But why would your Mac be OFF?

      I don't think so. It would just not be there the next time you view that message.

    Thank you very much for the informative video 👍🙏. Quick question: A client writes me an E-Mail. I write back und he/she does also. How do I print (or create a pdf) from only (and only) the third E-Mail. I always get all 3 🤬.

      Turn off conversation view in the View menu or just copy and paste what you want into a TextEdit document.

    I realize this is a year older video, but I have a question. Sometimes someone replies just to you in a conversation with many people. Then you need to reply to all people but don't want to included the last reply that was just to me, 2 replies back. Can this be done and how?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would go back to that specific message that had everything you wanted. Reply to that. Or, you can always just reply and copy and paste different pieces from different emails to get what information you need in the reply.

  • @sbeckas

    Why keep 5 email conversations? Why not delete 4 and just keep the one that includes all the quoted emails? It just seems like clutter to me unless it has a greater purpose? Thanks.

  • @AdamoFiscella

    off topic but all my iCloud emails are going straight to spam folders to gmail accounts. I'm addressing them as normal too. Why??

    • @macmost
      @macmost  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, your iCloud email is coming in through your Gmail account? Or do you mean when you SEND email to someone else, they get it and it goes to their spam folder? Not sure why either would happen.

    My mail takes a while to load in different tabs i.e. inbox, sent etc. Only on my Mac. iPhone and iPad loads instantly. When I restart my Mac, it loads quickly after turning on, but then just gets slower eventually. Any advice?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know why it is slow for you. Could have something to do with your email provider, maybe?

    This is great information as always BUT I want to set All emails to NOT Organize by Conversation. In my industry, people respond to an email that have nothing to do with that conversation. Usually it is because this is just the last email they received from me and they don't take the time to start a new conversation. Sure, I can keep wasting time by going to View and Uncheck Organize by Conversation but that is inefficient! How do I permanently NOT group conversations?

    • @macmost
      @macmost  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just switch View, Organize By Conversation off.

    Hi there, so sorry to be commenting on a 12-month old video; please ignore if you're snowed under. Following your excellent instructions I can almost reproduce your settings but, when viewing as a conversation, I still see the quoted text and occasionally the first message in the thread is not the initial email. I'm doing something wrong but can't work it out. :-(

    • @macmost
      @macmost  ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be your sort order, maybe? Try playing with that. As for quoted text, it could be that this particular conversation has some edited quoted text in it so it doesn't match up, but would with other conversations maybe.

  • @paulvanobberghen
    @paulvanobberghen 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What irritates me is that, when I drag a conversation from the inbox to a dedicated mailbox, the messages that I sent are still in the outbox. Then I need to send them to the dedicated mailbox manually. Very annoying, unless there’s a solution to that that I don’t know of.
