Even before watching this video to the end. I already pressed the like button. Not because of the beauty of Bauchi but because of you calling out the wrong of that TH-camr that visited a slummy part of Kano and tagged it the reality of people living there.
Nigeria may not be perfect or wealthy on a per capita basis but not all Nigerians are living in abject poverty. Some countries of this world would probably pull down that sort of demeaning video and summon the publisher as it has the potential to crash tourism and investor confidence.
Thank you once more and yes, Bauchi is beautiful by the way.

    Well Done Young Ndukwu☪️✝️1!$
I was born in Zimbabwe in 1967.
In 1977 my family ended up in Nigeria as refugees. We were settled in Bauchi State and one the first road trips in naija was to Yankari. Your video brought tears to my eyes. Such fond memories of my childhood in Nigeria.
I am assuming you are an igbo guy (Forgive me if I am wrong). In this day and age so many young people have given up on Nigeria. Many are calling for Biafra, Arewa or Oduduwa. It is hearting to see a young Nigerian go to the North to showcase His country. Please keep it up. We need each other no matter where we come from.

With a continent of over 1B Africans we can do better, honestly.

It breaks my heart to see how beautiful Nigeria is and to know that they are not making anything from what God gave them. Spain makes around 150 billion Euros (around 95 Trillion Naira) from direct tourism a year and do you know what they have? Nothing to compare with Nigeria. I have been to most part of the world, and I can tell you that, there are few countries with the beauty of Nigeria! Thanks Steven Ndukwu for your great work!

@Steven Ndukwu Hey, Steve, you're doing a fantastic job. Thank you .
However, I will recommend you separate your emotions from the tours. You want to show Yankari Game Reserve you should've captured every part of it and everything it offers.
You seemed to have lost interest and visibly disappointed the minute you didn't see the animals and effectively ended the tour and thereby shortchanged your viewers
If you pay good money to get out there. Cover every single scene regardless of your feelings about the place.
Remember, it's not a personal vacation. You're traveling along with us across Nigeria.
      My 2 cents advice.

Before you leave BAUCHI try SUMU wildlife park. It is another area to explore. The guide is suppose to tell you when to meet which animal because they migrate a lot. Don't forget yankari game reserve is a very massive land mass that you can not go to every part of it in two or three days, you can imagine where you are and other animals can be 40km or 60km away where there is no access road. Different animals have different seasons when to see them and at specific locations. I saw the guide struggling to explain certain things. I feel more competent people need to be there to give sufficient and reliable information about the reserve and the animals there in.

Try and visit OBUDU CATTLE RANCH, it is another dope area for tourists. I have been there before, from the bottom of the hill to the top it has 29 U-Bends and at the top it is about 104 square kilometers. The weather up there is temperate similar to what you have in the Europe. It is a cool place to visit.

Thanks for the great content. I never realized how beautiful Bauchi and Yankari Game Reserve are. On another note...I think you're mistaken a zoo for a game reserve. Zoo animals get fed by people, but wildlife basically just live off the land. Feeding wildlife is actually a form of animal cruelty. I believe the scarcity of wildlife at the reserve is probably due to poaching by the locals. Once again, great content!

I am from BAUCHI, the roads inside the game reserve does not effectively cover the entire reserve and you know these animals do migrate from one side of the reserve to another. The game guide is suppose to tell them when to see which animal and where. Only two years ago elephants from yankari reserve destroyed farms in the neighbouring villages killing about four people from different villages and there are many cases of lions attacking villagers in such communities.

You got some things wrong: you used metres instead of kilometres. Secondly, it's neither the one nor largest game reserve in Nigeria. We also have Borgu games reserve in Niger state and Gashaka-Gumti national park which lies between Taraba and Adamawa states. It is the largest in West Africa. We also have some reserves in Cross River state.

Northern Nigeria has one of the most beautiful, picturesque landscapes in West Africa. Unfortunately, it's not well marketed and explored by the leaderships. To much dependency on Federal government. Internal revenue generation is zero. YakarI Reserves should be on the same level with Kenya or Tanzania Safari.

The spring alone is something to die for. In Kenya, we don't feed our wild animals in the game parks. Noticed the Kenya armband hard to miss. I would not be surprised if there are elephants in that park. I researched just three years ago that there should be about three hundred elephants left in Nigeria. At least, I hope so.

Nice work Steven thanks for not listening to the naysayers and divisive stereotypes hindering our collective growth.
Bauchi is beautiful but remember nothing stops us Nigerians from creating collective trusts to raise money for the preservation of these parks with volunteers vetted and appointed on a rotational basis from different parts of the country.
We have an over reliance on the government but a lot of these projects just require a collective set of individuals from the locality or better still in partnership with the diaspora to make these places where we are proud to call home.
Nation building starts from us looking at all parts of Nigeria as ours as Nigerians and get rid off this North, South divide that has set us back to the colonial era.
It's like we are still behaving like captives even when the chain has been broken.
Keep up the good work Steven and keep doing what you do.
On behalf of progressive Nigerians in the diaspora we salute your efforts 👏.

The topography of Northern Nigeria is varied as you have in the South. The Northwest is largely flat while the North East is Mountainous and there are isolated rocky and vegetated hills in the North Central. I quite agree that the natural tourism potentials of the North has been largely under exploited and this is true of Nigeria as a whole. Anyways, I give you Kudos on this expose on Bauchi.
