I do think it's a waste of money it does not turn back time.I am 75 and was young mid sixties wore the whole look often two pairs of false eye lashes.I perfected the look smoky eyes into my sixties. That look just does not work past 70.I have adopted a new way keep my skin moisturised I cover age spots with good concealer. Also a light tinted moisturiser make sure eyebrows done and lippy touch of mascara. @@beautybydezI’m in South Bucks Dez. I’ve used it for quite a few years. Cant remember where I purchased before but now I get it from Laura gellar site. It suits me well. x
Hi Dez, Congratulations on all of your new subscribers. Good for you. Now I'm wondering if that mascara transfer had something to do with the contact with the products under your eyes? I have a question. When I put on the RMS Eyelights, it shows off the texture of my eye lids. I put it on much lighter than you. I don't use a primer as per Rose Marie Swifts warning. You're able to wear dark eye shadows. My eyes turn into a deep dark hole when I do that. Looing good lady!
Thanks so much - and yes, I wondered about that too - about the transfer. Your eyes are beautifully dark, so I can see why a lighter shadow works better - it makes them pop!
Love your Lisa Eldridge skin tint the best. Concealers are a bear for undereyes as we age.I think the RMS shadow looked good but the color is a bit dark for me and the RmS blush looked good on you but I would never have picked the color for myself. I try to use a peach color corrector before concealer which helps. Pixie makes an affordable one and there are several peachy eye treatments like colorscience and Dermatology. I can use the colorscience but the Dermatology makes me itch, knotweed I think in it.
I have a blue eyeliner from Beauty Pie and that appears under my eyes even though I only put it on the upper lid. Because of the colour I know it’s the eyeliner. Odd. I haven’t used any products specifically for older women ( I’m 66), but I follow channels for mature women and often buy their recommended products x
Hi, have you ever tried Look Fabulous Forever cosmetics? They are designed for older women. Your eyeshadow was a pretty colour and on a side note, your nail colour is a pretty colour.
Thanks Jan! I haven't tried them, no - I like the fact that the brand was started by an older woman and it now is a family company as her daughter has taken it over I believe. I am just not sure what a makeup brand can do differently for older skins.
@@beautybydezI use Look Fabulous Forever and do like some of her products. Her tutorials are excellent. A lot of other products from other companies tend to make my eyes and nose run but LFF don’t, so a plus!
Good morning, darling Dez. I've not tried anything from RMS. It was quite chilly here both yesterday and today. The morning temps have been in the high 40s -50s in the morning, and the low 70s in the afternoon. Too chilly for me. I love a one and done eye shadow, especially a cream or a stick formula. The eye tint looks very pretty. Perhaps try applying it with a brush so it doesn't adhere to your lashes. I've never even heard of Rumi Cosmetics. I don't they sell it in the States. I like the blush and the liner. The mascara could be clinging to your undereye due to the luminosity of the CT product, and or concealer, even though you powdered your undereyes. I'm not sure that I believe in brands or products that target more mature women. As long as the products are good, they should work on any age. Thank you, sweet Dez. Lots of love. Enjoy your week. 😊💝💝🫶
Good afternoon dearest Rene! Yes, autumn is setting in and leggings are being applied along with socks! I will try a brush next time - but I do love the colour. Give Rumi a wide birth - it makes me cross when brands mislead us! I think the CT product could be the culprit. I'm going to try the Huda beauty primer - was it the Huda Beauty loose powder you were recommending? Might have to add that to cart too 😊 Love to you too ❤️❤️❤️
The Fall wants to come, but I believe that the temps will climb again during the week. The powder that I recommended is the Hourglass loose powder. It's such a beautiful formulation, and it works well even on my dry skin. Stay warm and cozy. ❤❤@beautybydez
I like you videos, they uplift me! I think mature make IS good quality make up. Especially eyeshadows can make my eyes creypier. I think it comes down to that, to make the skin looking more dewy, less dry, showing less wrinkles and creypy skin. That is the problem for mature skin mostly. For me at least.
Great video Dez. The blush looked great but the foundation you used I thought it was a bit grey on you. There is an English brand of cosmetic products called Loof Fabulous Forever. Its owner is Tricia Cusden and it’s very open. Lots of is products get 5 star ratings. Many videos on YT about how to apply the products, cool and warm colours etc. It’s a UK product too which is an added bonus. Personally I haven’t tried the products and they are quite pricey too. If you’re onto a thing about this makeup for older women, it would be great to have you try them out!😊
Thanks so much Jacqui! I have seen Look Fabulous Forever but never been attracted to the brand - I think because tbh I don't see how a brand can develop products that are different enough from what's already available which suit mature skins - also, if I'm honest, it looks a bit boring, but I don't want to criticise a brand which is so loved and is focused on a particular age demographic because it was started by a woman who is of that age - and more power to her and her family as I believe her daughter has taken over the running of the business now. Hope you don't mind - but never say never ❤️
Hi Dez, I havent tried either of these brands. I dont usually buy expensive makeup, I do buy medical grade skincare though. As far as the hype that these brands are better for mature women, I dont believe it, its a hype because older women usually have more money to spend than our younger counterparts hence the higher price point. I didnt like the flawless filter under your eyes, while I do think a primer will help, I think a matte one would be better. Whenever we mature women apply a shiney product to our face in my opinion it highlights our flaws.
Ah thanks Eva! I will try a different primer - now that the concept of a primer seems to work I'll find one that's matte. Agree if we can afford medical grade skincare, it's a good investment ❤️
Just as make up for older women is a gimmick, so is “medical grade“ anything. There is no regulated standard to determine what medical grade is. It is a simply a marketing term.
About under eye concealers - Milani makes a product called Undereye Brightener in the colors Rose for light skin, and Melon for medium skin tone. They're not shiny, but reflective. They settle into lines much less than traditional concealers. That's what I've been using for awhile.
Hello, Dez - Huge thanks for the investigative work you did on the supposedly family-run businesses that are targeting older women; I am suitably appalled at the lies, but I suppose that's what passes for strategic marketing these days. Anyway, I've loved RMS for years - never thought about them as offering makeup for older women, but I do love their products I've tried (cream ones only - I haven't tried their newer powder blushes, etc.). Also, just to let you know: when I have eye product migrating below my eyes as you experienced, it's usually eyeliner - which is depressing news; I seldom wear it these days, simply because of the raccoon look I develop - much worse than what happened to you. Oh well, at least lipsticks still give a reliable pop of colour and generally stay put (sort of). Have a lovely week - Ruth
Oh interesting, Ruth - thanks! The only eyeliner I usually wear now is the VB which I absolutely love and which doesn't migrate - I much prefer it to the Lisa. It is a shame about the back story - I love hearing about the origins of a brand, if there is a story to be told, but to tell a story that isn't accurate - that's just plain wrong. Have a great week yourself ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Dee what is your skin prior to makeup to give you that lovely glow?
I used the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter - the first highlighter I ever bought.

Have you heard of Look Fabulous Forever Cosmetic brand, UK Ithink. What is that like?? ❤
I have, yes -but I haven't been tempted to try it as I don't really believe that cosmetics need to have different ingredients to suit mature skin. It is a British brand, Tricia Cusden is the name of the founder, and I believe her daughter runs it now.
Thank you for the information. I just liked the idea of matte eyeshadows. I live in Western Australia and it is hard to get a matte eyeshadow palette.
I think that the eyeshadow that splodged onto your lashes bled through to under your eyes. Ive never tried any of these. Too expensive without seeing someone of similar age and skin type try them. I will buy more expensive products but i don't do it lightly. X
That might well be the case ❤️
Hi. My view on makeup for mature women is; his can it made any different from ordinary makeup.
Indeed ❤️
You are charming. New subscriber.
Oh thank you so much ❤️
❤🎉
Sorry not a fan of the Flawliess Filter under the eyes. Too shiny.
Point taken, Andrea! Have just ordered the new Huda Beauty primer so we'll see how that fares in a future video.
