I have used the Laura Geller Baked Balanced and Brighten for several months now. I really like the easy application, the way it blends into my skin, and the natural look it gives.
Hello..brand new to your channel! I have been using Laura Geller for years now…and I am 67. I order it from the States, or QVC depending on what I am looking for. I use either the medium in the summer and the fair in the winter…and my last compact of it has lasted me since 2018! And yes it is still good to used…and just beginning to see pan.
I like Laura Geller Bake Balance and Brighten it looks natural and is easy to apply. I did try Bare Minerals foundation and I looked like the Crypt Keeper! It exaggerated every line.😮
Hi Dez, I’ve used Laura Geller for thirty years. Her primer is fantastic and her foundations n bronzers are the bomb! Eye shadows is the best colors n her lipsticks stay on. In the United States the prices are reasonable. Twenty some dollars for all day coverage is expensive. ♥️🌸
Ha Ha, it is stalking you! I am so excited to see what you think! Now back to the video! Yes, I have hated most powder foundations, I love LG's powder bronzer but none of Jane Iredale. I love most things with Centella Asiatica....it really helps my rosacea prone skin. I am loving the new CT, it is the first one that I have loved. I have a video on just that one! I think it is beautiful!
I've used Balance and Brighten for years, in porcelain. I made the mistake of ordering the fair first time and it turned me yellow. If I want more colour I swirl the brush both in the porcelain and LG's bronzer in fair.
I buy Laura Geller from QVC, but only when there is an offer. Sometimes they sell collections that are amazing. I've been using it for years. Like yourself, I enjoy the ease of using it particularly if I'm just nipping to the shops or walking the dog and don't want to look pasty but don't want to apply a full face of make up. Watch that you don't get it wet though as it will turn to liquid. I like it because it has no binders in it. It is a liquid that is baked so you get the full colour. You can also use a small eyeshadow brush and pick out the darker swirls to use as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. Laura Geller's blushers and highlighters are also very good. It's good for taking away on holiday as it's not messy. I think that it looked good on you 😊
Ooh thanks for the tips - and yes, I will take it with me to NY when I go next week - it's been my go-to all week now. I like the idea of using it on eyes too. I will definitely try more of her products ❤️
I love this and have been using it for years and wouldn’t be without it. I’ve ordered from LG website when I couldn’t find it anywhere and it arrived quickly. On Amazon now and so have a back up. I do put a light base underneath - it’s quick to apply and lasts. The only thing is the lids break every time for me. If travelling, take it in the box!
I haven't tried any Laura Geller yet, and this is the second video I've seen that tested a product from her line. I need to look deeper into the line. BTW, one last follow up on the primer/concealer hack: I tested 6 different primers and 5 different concealers in different combinations. I used high end to drugstore. And it didn't seem to matter once I figured out which worked best with each other - it definitely works better than anything else I've tried! One thing I also found is you might not need a setting powder - it might get cakey, but depends on the formula. So, your idea is a winner, in my book, anyway❤
Thanks so much Nicki! I am definitely a convert to this foundation, but it is pricey. Zena in the comments above said QVC offer a return service, so might be worth purchasing from them if you do decide to get it, just in case.
Great video Dez, I think the foundation looks great on you. I have tried the LG foundation but it always looks dry and cakey on me. But having watched your video I might have been using too much, so you’ve encouraged me give it another go. ❤
Thanks so much Diane! Really interesting comments, some love it and some find it too drying. I am now wearing a primer every day and I do think that helps - Ale on TH-cam recommends applying a primer and leaving it for a few mins before foundation application, which might help too.
I use Jane Iredale foundation as it was easy to use and because a dermatologist suggested that mineral makeup would be useful for me and my sensitive skin.
I used this foundation for years when I was still working, and also used her Illuminating Spackle with it - which was similar to the Elf you are showing. It always looked good, and was so quick and easy to apply. The only con was the inconsistency with the color - as these baked products are a mix of several colors swirled together, and some batches were darker than others (depending on the way the swirling was done!). She was an innovator in some many of her products - eyebrow marker pencils with a triple tip, spackle (or primer), vanilla highlighter (years before highlighters became a "thing"), and baked products in general. The Charlotte Tilbury brush is almost identical to Laura Geller's brush. Caroline Barnes is my absolute favorite makeup artist - just lovely, and so good! I think this foundation looks wonderful - soft and perfect less is more. I still have an unopened one in my stash - think I will get it out again. I don't care for her blushes (too garish), or any of her other foundations, or eyeshadows, but glad to hear you liked it. How did the Merit work under the eyes?
Oh interesting! Laura Geller just wasnt on my radar until TH-cam but glad to have found it. Interesting about batch inconsistency. The Merit worked really well! In fact I've now used it all over and under the Laura Geller which also works well. I want to try the new Merit product - forgotten the name - it's a moisturising primer I think.
@@beautybydezsome of my compacts had more of the darker pigment, which, when swirled and applied was too dark for my skin, and then some would have hardly any of the dark. Overall - I really liked it - for the finish and the speed! And - her spackle was the best!
I found your videos for the first time today! I'm 76 yrs old and love and wear makeup every day. I think as you get older (in years only) less can be more. I've been wearing Laura Geller makeup for a number of years now. I have a number of different products such as her primer, Balance and Brighten foundation, eyeshadows, blushes and her Tahatian Glow as a finishing powder. All of her products last a long time. I usually order either from her web site or QVC. Our Ulta store used to carry it but they no longer due. Wishing you a Happy Birthday celebration !
I have used the Laura Geller foundation and I do like it, especially for summer. My favorite lash combo is the primer used, plus Loreal Telescopic Lift, then Maybelline Sky High-chef’s kiss!!
I have been considering this product but the price put me off. AND I had the same experience you had many years ago with mineral foundations which left me fearing it would be unappealing and uncomfortable. Your skin looks great and I trust the veracity of your review. After years of failing to find a foundation that does not make me look cakey, but does make me look better, I was delighted to find a very inexpensive and effective option: Wet n Wild (who knew!) Tinted Hydrator. Amazing! But I'm still tempted to try this one. Thanks!
Gosh completely agree about the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator - it's amazing on all fronts! But I do think this product is really good and I am using it every day at the mo, but it is pricey. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts 😉❤️
@@beautybydez I will definitely be paying attention to any updates you care to share. It would be hard to justify paying so much more now that I have the WnW TH. I'm watching this space!
Hi Dez👋🇬🇧 It’s so good to watch a tutorial that’s from the UK. Yes your skin looks lovely and the Laura Geller foundation looks so natural on you. I’ve used Laura Geller for a few years now. I’m 62 and have thread veins around my nose and a patch of open pores due to psoriasis I had on my face years ago. Oh, and dark under eyes. When I use it (I only use for special occasions or if I feel I need a boost so it will last me a year) I use a primer first, then apply the foundation. If using day time I will use one application, but for an evening I will add a lighter dusting a second time for a more even coverage. Then apply Maybelline concealer under my eyes and around my nose. I also use a eyeshadow base in neutral, not clear, because it gives an even base as our eye lids being thinner skin can be uneven in tone. It gives the eyeshadow something to grip onto and make the colour pop and last longer. Even if you just line your eye lid the rest of your eye lid will look smooth 😉 I use the same brand of mascara base as you, but I love Maybelline false lash. I apply one coat all over, then apply a second coat from the centre to the outer eye. Let it dry slightly then go in for a third and final time just on the outer section. This gives the illusion of thicker fuller lashes (my Husband thought I was wearing false lashes!) One more tip: To give the eye an extra lift use a narrow eye liner brush and use a dark grey or brown shadow (or if you prefer a eye liner pencil) and draw an angled line going slightly upwards from the centre of your eye lid to outer eye lid. This gives instant eye lift that works every time for me. Try it 😉👍🏻
Thanks so much - have made it over the Atlantic to NJ and onto NYC on Friday - can’t wait! And how lucky are you to live there - it’s one of my very favourite cities! I’m sure if Samuel Pepys had visited it he would have said that you could never tire of New York, as you couldn’t of London 😁
You look beautiful. I love Laura Geller powder foundation, I have been using it for years, I think it’s very mature friendly, the blushes, bronzer and highlighters are also beautiful. The Lisa Eldridge silk liquid eyeshadows are amazing, I purchased 3, took 2 of them to Spain and that’s all I wore in Spain, ordered the 2 darker shades when I came back home. I love the Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara, the monsieur big, the new CT is fantastic, it does not smudge or flake and 90% of mascaras smudge on my lower lash line, I love my lashes to have lots of volume and length, I’m picky with mascaras.Gorgeous jewelry. Much love my friend 💕
Muchas gracias Clara! Been meaning to comment on your heartfelt and moving video from a couple of weeks ago - you have been through the mill! Glad you got over to Spain. Thanks for the mascara recommendations - I shall probably go mad in New York buying up Sephora - and Ulta, which I've never been to. Love to you too ❤️❤️❤️
This foundation looks great on you! I've been considering it - I think I might try it now 😊. I used Jane Iredale's loose powder foundation for years when my skin wasn't as dry as it is now. I loved it. It looked natural and didn't cause any irritation (I do have rosacea). The trick is to use a very loose, fluffy brush and lightly tap it on the skin. You can build it up, but the lighter the application the better. Just a little too much will look cakey. I would use their moisturizing tint as a primer. I can still use it if I moisturize enough, but now I'd rather use something that is more hydrating. Thanks for testing this! ❤
@@beautybydez That's what I did with the Jane Iredale. I'll probably try it with the Laura Geller, but it might work best with the Kabuki brush. It's worth experimenting, though it did look great on you 😊
I use Bare Minerals loose mineral foundation for years and do put on a primer first. I also put on my concealer first. I love it but would like to try Laura Geller. I use all of the same mascara. Try the Milani tubing mascara that is packaged as a dupe for Thrive. I think it looks the best of all.
I absolutely LOVE Laura Gellar. I use the baked balance and Brighten first and then apply the Glow one (just a little) on top, and it gives just the right amount of Glow. I'm just saying, so if you ever do get it...well, that's the way I wear it. Thank you for the video.❤❤❤
Right now I'm loving the L'Oréal Panorama mascara. I am not using a lash primer. I had the Covergirl primer but it was just so clumpy! I think the mascara builds up nicely and gives me great lashes.
The powder foundation looks fabulous on your skin, it’s so pretty! It honestly looks so skin-like. I’ve been using the balance n brighten recently as I’m a mom of two young ones, I don’t have the time for full glam anymore sadly but I still want to look out together and this is perfect for me
Oh that's not too bad really - I suppose it's when you see a discount and think oh good, then you add the shipping and it takes it up to the original price 😉
Boots Natural Collection mascara is the best I’ve found and it’s feels lovely on my lashes but like many good products it’s very difficult to get hold of so much so I’m wondering if it’s discontinued! I didn’t like ELF extender mascara either.
I’m 64. I’ve used Laura Geller Balance N Brighten quite a few times. It’s a good product but I prefer BareMinerals original powder foundation. It has a glow and is powder to cream. The key to application is buffing small amounts at a time. Too much on the brush does not give the best effect. It took me quite a while to learn this technique… but it’s not difficult. Less is more.
I had one called Balance and brighten. I don’t know if they still do it. I’ve now got balance and glow. I didn’t much like it as it thought it was dry and powdery and not flattering. However, I think I will revisit it after seeing your demo and try a glowy primer underneath.
ohhh so glad to see you tried it. YES you said it right. It melts into your skin. I could not get Bare Minerals to work on my oily and large pores skin no matter what but always wanted to have "natural, mineral based" foundation. Then!!! I found LG and I get 2 of them one porcelain one light and it lasts me most of the year. In winter I am pale, in summer a bit darker but in-between I just "customize" it. Oh what a delight when people say my face looks like "butter" or "baby's......". I love your videos - so much fun and yes you always manage to turn your make up look into something great though you do it in such a normal way; like most of us, you are simply having fun with it and not so precise and 20 different brushes...hahaha just enjoy your videos so much. Yes, also, LG has sales to die for and that foundation can cost you only $19 :-) seriously!!! June or July sales...ahhah and then soon soon...She is smart. The biggest sales are off the "Christmas" season and who knows knows ;-) HUG from Maryland USA
Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I am really glad I've got it and I will probably take it with me when I go to NY as it's so easy for travelling - as long as I remember the brush 😊❤️
I got my Balance an Brighten from QVC Dez . They have Laura Geller on quite often, sometimes with other items. Check them from time to time because the prices aren’t too bad.
thank you! ive been using Laura Geller for about a year, over my SPF, I think I need to go lighter since sometimes I over apply and its not a good look hahaha. must get a kabuki brush. Cheers. The product looks good on you!!!!
OMG! I’ve just subscribed and this is the first video of you that I see, but omg your skin in direct sunlight is PERFECT!! I will have a look at your older videos to see if you share your skincare routine… I’m impressed! I’ll be turning 51 by December and I want skin like yours!!
Thank you! Yes I forget about Dr Sam’s products, I have tried a couple and they are really good - will have to ensure she’s on my list for future ref ❤️
The foundation looks very natural. I have looked at it before on QVC but never bought it. I like the MAC powder foundation, ive been using it all summer and its easy to top up without any heaviness. I have combination skin so i always need to powder and touch up during the day- less so if i use a primer- but i find primers tend to clog my pores so only use them when i need bulletproof makeup. The good thing about buying from QVC is you have so many weeks to try a product and you can get a full refund if you don't like it. I have tried the Jane Iredale and it was dreadful - really dry.
Ah that's very useful intel, Zena, about QVC - I didn't know that about refunds. Not tried the MAC - I need to fish out the two I bought last year (or maybe it was the year before!) and see if they're still ok.
Hi loved the video, I use Laura Geller Foundation alot and love it. My favourite mascara is rimmel extra super lash, it's only £5. I have tried others higher brand, drug store such as elf etc but always go back to rimmel ❤
Welcome to New York! My home. It’s beautiful this time of year. Except we haven’t got a lot of rain in a while and that always upsets the autumnal beautiful colors of the trees. It’s going to be warm next week so have fun. New subscriber waiting for the powder foundation showdown. 😉
Thank you Tracy! And how wonderful to live there - I am currently across the Hudson in NJ visiting my daughter who’s here for a few days’ work, and then I’ll cross over to Manhattan for 3 nights - so excited! Powder foundation showdown definitely in the works ❤️
To me, it looks like you need a little more of the LF foundation on your nose and forehead in order tho balance them out with the foundation you applied to the rest of your face. I really like the foundation on you. It looks pretty and natural. I also think I'll try the Elf underneath the way you did. My Balance and Brighten arrived yesterday in a kit Laura is selling on QVC. The kit is a great deal which includes a full size Balance and Brighten Foundation in the shade of your choice, full size foundation brush, full size mascara, two blushes, six eye shadows, a full size Kajal eyeliner, a full size lipstick, a bronzer and a highlight. It's currently available on QVC.
Hi Dez: YES to "permanent" jewelry! I've been thinking about getting a small, rather delicate, bracelet welded on for a while. The makeup always looks fab on you at the end, but, I thought the foundation seemed a bit yellow... maybe it was the light. Love the Milani lippie on you and the eyeshadow shade. Hugs! Rosemarie 🩷
My absolute favorite mascara, and I have tried so many…is Jones Road. You use the curve side (looks like the hump) first then go in 2nd with the side that is like a u. I know there is a word like convex or something like that lol. But the u is the last step lol. BEST MASCARA EVER!
Ok, you've sold me! I've shied away from Jones Road as a lot of their products contain fragrance, but I will definitely add the mascara to my list - thank you so much!
Hi I am 60 and it's the only makeup that suits my skin. I have never liked liquid foundation on my skin and never wore makeup, except to go out for special occasions. I use BB cream on the days that I don't want full makeup x QVC, stock Laura Gellar xx
I really can’t get on with LG foundation I find it very drying and clogging. The best I have used is Bare Minerals foundation, it never lets me down. Also the Elizabeth Arden mineral foundation is very good. Thanks for the video.
Oh interesting, thanks Marcia. I need to do a deep dive into mineral foundations, given my natural resistance to them, as so many seem to really like them!
Dez! Thank you so much for the shoutout!🥰 My mother-in-law got “forever” bracelet with her granddaughter. When I think of that I get claustrophobic! lol! But I just love your new necklace from your hubby! Now onto the makeup! It looked absolutely gorgeous on you!! I’m so happy you like it!! Just like you said, it’s just such a great, easy, natural foundation. Awesome review my beautiful friend!!!❤️
Thanks so much cherie! I am so grateful for your reviews as I don't think I would have tried it otherwise - been wearing it all week and will take it to NY with me - leaving lots of space for a huge makeup haul while I'm there 😊
It really is! I am going to try the satin version, though - just for comparison. Have brought the LG with me to New Brunswick, NJ, where I am currently sitting in a coffee shop feeling like I’m in a US movie, surrounded by lots of serious looking young peeps tapping away at keyboards 😁
I use a BB cream as a light foundation in summer (as we have hot summer in Australia 🇦🇺) but maybe I should try a powder foundation!! I've never thought of it, I always think of powder as just setting my liquid foundations!😂😂 never too old to try something else!! I will have to have a look at it. 👍👍👍❤️
I think the foundation looks good Dez . With powder foundation I find it’s all about the skin prep before applying. It’s funny because my mom and sister have been asking me what I think about this product and should we order some so this review has really helped me . I’m trying to decide on a shade but I will be trying this 😊 As far as mascaras go I’ve always used two . First I apply a volume one then a lengthening one on top . L’Oréal Telescopic is a really good one for lengthening. Loved this video Dez in fact I’m watching it again in bed 😂❤❤❤❤❤
An update from my previous comment: I did pick up the LG Balance and Brighten powder foundation and have been using it for about a week. I put that on one side of my face and neck and Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder on the other side. And I didn't see any noticeable difference for coverage or wear between the two. The Maybelline product costs $9 on Amazon and the LG product cost $21 on Amazon. Although I'm 74, I have very few wrinkles and age spots etc (something I inherited from my mother and not something I personally am doing for my skin!!) so this product is not a real game-changer for me. It's nice, but not unique.
Oh that's really interesting - thank you! I will try the Maybelline powder. I have never really got on with loose powder, but I'll definitely try that!
I like this foundation and always get it from qvc, last month I brought direct from laura geller as it was half price so ordered 2, but they didn't arrive there was a problem at arrival in uk, I got a full refund no problem, so had to order from qvc, then 3 weeks later qvc are doing a offer if one balance and brighten and a balance and glow for around £40 including delivery so I ordered them too I now have 3 so would need any more for a long time, another tip i sometimes use a little over a bb or cc cream for a little more coverage x
I tried this foundation and I really wanted to like it. But I don’t…I wonder if 8 picked the wrong color? I’ve tried applying it with a brush and also with a sponge..
Oh Dez I’ve had a terrible time with my latest Natasha Denona order. ‘Lost in the post’ apparently, but trying to get a refund from a company based in the US is proving frustratingly impossible. Needless to say I will not be buying from them again.
Whaaat! How frustrating! Charlotte Holdcroft told a similar tale a couple of months ago. It is always a bit of a worry purchasing directly from the States. What had you ordered? I don't have many of her products.
I did purchase some LG foundation like this but found it was too full of shine! It looked like I put on too much highlighter!! I gave it to my granddaughter who loves it! So people should be aware if they don't like shine.
I wonder if you got the Balance and Glow version instead of the Balance and Brighten? I've tried that one and had the same experience, it was so shiny I ended up giving it away.
Have to admit I’ve never tried a LG products. You know me Dez if there’s an extra step to make a product work … as you Brits say “it’s too much faf” Sending you lots of love 😊

First I'm 73 and been using Balance and Brighten for a few years now, I think it's a great foundation for mature skin.
I have used the Laura Geller Baked Balanced and Brighten for several months now. I really like the easy application, the way it blends into my skin, and the natural look it gives.

LOL! Mmm...maybe I shouldn't bother. I have at least tracked my shade down here, could not find it for love nor money in New York!
Love this! Have had people come up to me and say my skin looks amazing…am over 70,!
62, self tanned, age spots. It did not work as a foundation for me, however, I use it over my Estee Lauder doublewear makeup, and it's fine.

I think it is beautiful!
LOL - and ah excellent on the new CT, I shall go over and watch! I will be checking out more LG's now as I am wearing this one on repeat!
I've used Balance and Brighten for years, in porcelain. I made the mistake of ordering the fair first time and it turned me yellow. If I want more colour I swirl the brush both in the porcelain and LG's bronzer in fair.

Thanks for sharing ❤
Great video Dez, I think the foundation looks great on you. I have tried the LG foundation but it always looks dry and cakey on me. But having watched your video I might have been using too much, so you’ve encouraged me give it another go. ❤
Thanks so much! I think prep is probably key, so some kind of primer may be the answer ❤️
Thanks so much Diane! Really interesting comments, some love it and some find it too drying. I am now wearing a primer every day and I do think that helps - Ale on TH-cam recommends applying a primer and leaving it for a few mins before foundation application, which might help too.
I have used Green People mascara for years and love it!
Thanks - will add to my list!
Ooh thanks - not tried that brand before, but will add to list!
The inconsistency in color is something I've heard before and has made me hesitate trying it. But I'm thinking of giving it a go now anyway. 😊
Thank you so much! I am going to try other Laura Geller makeup now I've taken the plunge ❤️
I have used the Laura Geller foundation and I do like it, especially for summer. My favorite lash combo is the primer used, plus Loreal Telescopic Lift, then Maybelline Sky High-chef’s kiss!!
I do love the Maybelline - it's great, but not tried the L'Oreal - but I will now - thank you!
I agree - love the Maybelline Sky High - the pink one - I didn’t like the black one which I think is the waterproof version, though.
Thanks!
OH! You have reviewed it... positively! I wonder if I bought it on your recommendation. That's entirely possible. I wonder how they compare.
Try it 😉👍🏻
Thank you so much for these very useful tips, and I will try the extra lift tip you suggest - notes have been duly made 😊❤️
The makeup looks beautiful!
Thank you!!
I am 74 now and have loved Jane Iredale foundation! ( also have mild rosacea)
Oh interesting, Christine, I think I’m going to have to revisit the brand - give it another go.
I live in NYC. It’s lovely and exciting. I know you will love it. Have fun and enjoy!! ❤
Thanks so much! Yes I think the brush I used was fluffy enough, but I might consider a looser one now you've suggested it❤️
@@beautybydez That's what I did with the Jane Iredale. I'll probably try it with the Laura Geller, but it might work best with the Kabuki brush. It's worth experimenting, though it did look great on you 😊
I use LG & love it. Gentle on skin and natural finish. It melds with my skin as I wear it. At age 76 I love this product.
I've just ordered the glowy one too ❤️
👋From Nashville, TN… just bought the Balance and Glo in porcelain, I am 60 and wanted to give it a whirl..gets very humid here in summer :))
Ooh thanks for the recommendations.
I've just ordered the Glow, it's on its way to me from the US - v much looking forward to trying it and will give your method a go - thank you ❤️
Looks lovely on you. Lovely video xx
Thank you so much!
Right now I'm loving the L'Oréal Panorama mascara. I am not using a lash primer. I had the Covergirl primer but it was just so clumpy! I think the mascara builds up nicely and gives me great lashes.
Oh hooray, I've just bought the mascara while I was in the US so will be trialling that soon!
Have you tried Benefit They're Real magnet? I love it paired with Dior Lash Serum.
Ooh I haven't, thank you - will give them both a go!
The powder foundation looks fabulous on your skin, it’s so pretty! It honestly looks so skin-like. I’ve been using the balance n brighten recently as I’m a mom of two young ones, I don’t have the time for full glam anymore sadly but I still want to look out together and this is perfect for me
Thank you, it surprised me so much that it would look this good and for such a quick application!
I have used the glow for a long time and recently repurchased on line from LG whilst on a good sale price. Carriage about £6 to uk.
Ooh thanks Liz, I'll have a look.
Thanks for sharing. I like your necklace. I hope you enjoy your visit to the US.
Thank you! Very excited as it's been too long since my last visit!
Lovely Jewelry Dez ❤
Thank you - is a great if pricey brand!
Thank you! Him Indoors found the brand so I can’t take any credit, but they do have some lovely pieces!
Oh interesting - I've never tried a BareMinerals product before, but I shall add it to my list -thank you!
I had one called Balance and brighten. I don’t know if they still do it. I’ve now got balance and glow. I didn’t much like it as it thought it was dry and powdery and not flattering. However, I think I will revisit it after seeing your demo and try a glowy primer underneath.
It might be worth a try - let me know how you get on. I love the simplicity of its application, even though we’re adding a primer first.
It's great I've been using it for a good few years.
ohhh so glad to see you tried it.
I'm excited for this! I've been wanting to try this!
I think it looks good on your skin. I tried it once and liked it. Have a great day.❤
Thank you - and you ❤️
I got my Balance an Brighten from QVC Dez . They have Laura Geller on quite often, sometimes with other items. Check them from time to time because the prices aren’t too bad.
Thanks Jane!
thank you! ive been using Laura Geller for about a year, over my SPF, I think I need to go lighter since sometimes I over apply and its not a good look hahaha. must get a kabuki brush. Cheers. The product looks good on you!!!!
Thanks so much Laura!
OMG! I’ve just subscribed and this is the first video of you that I see, but omg your skin in direct sunlight is PERFECT!! I will have a look at your older videos to see if you share your skincare routine… I’m impressed! I’ll be turning 51 by December and I want skin like yours!!
Aww thanks Daniela! I suspect some of it is gene related 😉❤️
I rarely breakout but this made my skin breakout. Let's see how u do after a couple days.
Oh no, what a shame. So far so good, I'm about 5 days in.
Oh no, so far so good but I will report back - am planning a face off between this one and the satin finish version 😁
Dr. Sam ‘flawless moisturizer intense’ is great for dry, sensitive skin! I use it as a nightcream. Thanks for your videos. Enjoy watching them! ❤
Ooh thanks - I keep forgetting about Dr Sam's products - will add the cream to my list!
Thank you - and thanks for the recommendation - will give it a go, £5 is a steal ❤️
Thank you - I will ensure I add a little more in those places. The kit sounds extremely good value!
Hugs! Rosemarie 🩷
Ah interesting! I think I may have overdone the bronzer too 😉 Thank you and hugs back ❤️
With ‘welded’ jewellery, not such a good idea if you need an MRI scan.
QVC still sell loads of bits of Laura Geller. I like their blusher too.
Thanks Jan - is the shipping quicker, do you think? I might try them next time.
Qvc have upped their shipping time. I ordered something, came within 5 days.
Also on E.bay, but it takes time from them
My absolute favorite mascara, and I have tried so many…is Jones Road.
I use BB cream on the days that I don't want full makeup x
QVC, stock Laura Gellar xx
Thanks so much - I am going to try the other LG foundation now, to compare and contrast!
I really can’t get on with LG foundation I find it very drying and clogging. The best I have used is Bare Minerals foundation, it never lets me down. Also the Elizabeth Arden mineral foundation is very good. Thanks for the video.
Oh interesting! Maybe I'll do a round up of some powder/mineral foundations as I've not tried either of those. Thank you!
Oh interesting, thanks Marcia. I need to do a deep dive into mineral foundations, given my natural resistance to them, as so many seem to really like them!
The only places I've seen Laura Geller are QVC, Amazon, and TJ Maxx (I think they're called TK Maxx near you) and Marshall's stores.
Check out her website. Grat prices.
Hi, I really like Stila Huge. Voluminous and lengthening.
Dez! Thank you so much for the shoutout!🥰
My mother-in-law got “forever” bracelet with her granddaughter.
I love your videos Dez. Regards from Australia.
Thank you so much, and regards to you and your beautiful country ❤️
L’Oréal Panorama mascara. Give it a try❤
Thank you - that's got two votes now and I've added it to my list ❤️
I think the foundation looks good Dez . With powder foundation I find it’s all about the skin prep before applying. It’s funny because my mom and sister have been asking me what I think about this product and should we order some so this review has really helped me .
I’m trying to decide on a shade but I will be trying this 😊
As far as mascaras go I’ve always used two . First I apply a volume one then a lengthening one on top . L’Oréal Telescopic is a really good one for lengthening.
Loved this video Dez in fact I’m watching it again in bed 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Hils! I agree, prep is crucial. Have added the L'Oreal to my list ❤️
Don’t feel bad, I live in Montana in the US and often wait a week for shipments!😂. I enjoy your content since I’m 68 ❤️
LOL - I guess it's not so bad. And thank you so much ❤️
I prefer LG balance and glow foundation. Used it for years. Wouldn't need the Elf glow product underneath it. Qvc sell both in uk.
I will definitely give it a go!
Hi Dez, have you tried bareMinerals? x
I haven’t, no, but I feel I should now as so many have mentioned it as a good brand. I feel a mineral foundation comparison coming on!
When I use LG I use the spackle underneath anyone of them work..
Balance and Brighten is good, but I prefer the Balance and Glow ... I'm 68.
@@beautybydez The Fit Me line of products also comes in a liquid foundation, pressed powder, and other items. I really like it!
Ooh thanks Linda! I've not tried a bb or cc cream - which ones do you like?
@@beautybydez I use the Eborian cc cream and I have the bb in a travel size
@@lindaalden2867 thank you!
I'm 66 and have been using balance and brighten for a decade.
I am late to the party, but glad I got there ❤️
That's funny. I had the same experience with Jane Iredale.
Ah, interesting, glad it's not just me then 😊 I swore never again to go near it!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I tried this foundation and I really wanted to like it. But I don’t…I wonder if 8 picked the wrong color? I’ve tried applying it with a brush and also with a sponge..
Oh no, that's a shame. Did you use a Kabuki brush? Maybe try lightly swirling it, or pouncing. How about using a primer?
And...see comment above - maybe apply a light powder first?
I pull it out every so often to try again, but my skin does not like talc. Dang.
Oh that is a shame - have you tried applying primer first?
My friend puts a thin layer of laura mercier powder underneath.....x
Oh interesting!
I loved it until I turned 65. After that, I found that it is too drying - tried again a couple months ago( now 77) and confirmed too drying.
@@beautybydez two of her large eyeshadow pallets - I really should hold off when I have FOMO 😂
I don't know why but I have tried the light and medium, just does not look good on me
oh that's a shame, have you tried it with a primer?
@@beautybydez yes I have!!
Prime Promedics in my favorite mascara at 66.
I like Kiko mascara. I get a LOT of compliments asking if my lashes are false.NO there mine.
Ooh thanks Paula, I'll add that to my shopping list!
I used it for years but as I got towards 60 it settled into lines more sadly.
Oh that's a shame. Have you tried it with a primer?
@@beautybydez I think I did, a few years ago now. It's so easy to use and was great for work. Thanks
Have to admit I’ve never tried a LG products. You know me Dez if there’s an extra step to make a product work … as you Brits say “it’s too much faf” Sending you lots of love 😊
Lol and double lol! Yes we don't like a faff here in England - but I think this is quite faffless, tbh 😉 - Love to you too! BTW I've DM'd you ❤️
@@beautybydez Got it ... fingers crossed the timing works out! Yay!
Not expensive at QVC
I'm 53 and it made my face look cakey and dried out. Not for me.
Ah that's a shame. I've just bought the glowy version so will give that a go - maybe that would work better for you ❤️
Not a true review of the foundation as you used another foundation underneath! And using two foundations makes it even more expensive 😂
I wouldnt call the e.l.f. Halo Glow a foundation myself - but since the video I've tried it with the Merit serum underneath and that worked well too.
Aren’t pounds worth more than dollars?
I think they are 😊apologies if I got my maths wrong!
Got this after the hype. Never again!. Cakey and heavy looking. Not at all flattering.
Oh shame. I guess it depends on one's skin. Have you tried a primer underneath?
This stuff doesn’t work on my 64 yr skin. Just doesn’t look natural.
Oh shame - I am going to be testing the glowy version, so we'll see how that works.
